Anyone else notice they're quite heavy on the word bitch lately?

NoisyBrain · 09/06/2022 19:53

Aw Ben. I'm glad he's told Kathy.

Meredusoleil · 09/06/2022 20:08

Superb acting by both Ben and Kathy actors again tonight 👏

Really wish Howie would go back to wherever he came from. Such a wet fish that guy. So not a good match for extrovert Kim imho!

JacquelineCarlyle · 09/06/2022 21:36

Ben and Kathy are superb.

Agree with PP that both Sharon and Kathy have aged very well. Kathy in particular looks amazing for her age!

Youcansaythatagainandagain · 09/06/2022 23:00

Janine said recently that the only place she felt secure was with her Dad whilst living in the Vic. I think she may see Mick as a father figure. She loves him, but they don't sleep together. She wanted and still wants the Vic. She's a good character though I find the scenes with forgotten Scarlett are there to remind us how selfish she really is.

I am assuming Ben won't report it because Louis will threaten to tell the police that Ben was the person responsible for assaulting all those men. And he will threaten to report Callum for assaulting him. Kathy won't even be able to fire him and the story will continue to run and run.

Sharon was everywhere Janine was in today's episode. I get that they need her to argue with Janine for blackmail story to be set up but It looked unnaturally set up. Usually it flows a bit better.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 10/06/2022 08:02

Last night was the first time I felt a bit sorry for Janine she's had a hard life then I quickly remembered she is a murderer who has not potentially committed manslaughter dragging the body of a crash victim.

Ben and Kathy were fantastic.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 10/06/2022 08:04

*now.

My sympathy is with Scarlett when it comes to Janine.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/06/2022 16:38

So how long will Linda be in a coma for then

OP posts:
GonnaGetGoingReturns · 10/06/2022 16:48

@EmeraldShamrock1 - I do actually feel sorry for Janine when she said about her mum dying when she was a child. From what I recall watching EE when I was younger, Janine was treated very badly by Pat and her dad. Really doesn't surprise me she's messed up now.

Justjoinedforthis · 10/06/2022 18:29

I love Janine. I really love it when she mugs off the other characters. Also Barry was the worst, how could anyone not have killed him.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 10/06/2022 18:41

I do actually feel sorry for Janine when she said about her mum dying when she was a child.
That was hard to hear but dragging olly's DM after a crash upping his chances of feeling the same grief.

She doesn't look after scarlet she'd be a terrible step mother.

From what I recall watching EE when I was younger, Janine was treated very badly by Pat and her dad.
She was unfortunately the making of her destructive nature.

Great Actress though. ❤️

Linda could be in a coma for months or she might be wearing a bandage walking about the square in no time.

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 10/06/2022 18:56

I can't forgive Janine for what she did to poor Alice. She and Michael were so horrible to her.

the80sweregreat · 10/06/2022 19:01

Sounds as if L will be in a really bad way when she does comes round :(

Meredusoleil · 10/06/2022 19:18

the80sweregreat · 10/06/2022 19:01

Indeed.

What I don't get is why isn't Nancy telling everyone her mum's car broke down, which is why she didn't drive after her when she walked away? Or does she not know that's what actually happened?

mycatisannoying · 10/06/2022 19:19

Ben and Kathy were amazing. However I watch Ben like I'm watching Countryfile, or any programme like that! I feel sorry for him on a superficial level, but I can't get emotional over the character as he's a pretty shit person.
He was never bloody happy, even at the best of times.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 10/06/2022 19:24

I'd forgotten about Alice. Classic when evil collides, she really plays an unpleasant role.
Sounds as if L will be in a really bad way when she does comes round.
Hopefully not, that would be too dark even for EE.
I hope to see those pink earrings again.

Eastie77Returns · 10/06/2022 19:55

Linda will be fine. Super Nurse Sonia who knows everything about all illnesses will have her back behind the bar in no time.

The number of people who are wheeled into Walford General at deaths door and are then wandering around the Square a picture of health two weeks later is amazing.

the80sweregreat · 10/06/2022 20:12

The car broke down after Nancy flounced off to the station. She wanted to follow her and it wouldn't start , so she hit the bottle and then Janine showed up with a mute cabbie who got it going for them ! It was a bit bizarre !

mycatisannoying · 10/06/2022 20:13

Nancy is an enormous pain in the tits.
My fave is Howie by a country mile Grin

Southeastdweller · 11/06/2022 08:22

Really powerful scenes with Ben and Kathy in the last episode this week. Well done EE - they usually do hard hitting stories really well as they've done with this. I noted that the last two episodes were written by Daran Little, one of the long term writers, who wrote the episode where Johnny came out to Mick.

Eastie77Returns · 12/06/2022 07:40

Just watched a classic EE episode on iPlayer, the one featuring the show’s first proper gay kiss that caused a massive uproar at the time!

Frank and Pat are running the Vic, Pauline is moaning about Arthur spending all his time at the allotment and Martin is about a year old. Kathy has just left Pete and a baby faced Ian has started going out with Cindy. I don’t know what kind of pact Kathy/Gillian Tayforth has made with the Devil but this episode was in the 1980s and the woman has barely aged!

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 12/06/2022 13:22

What happened with Michael, Alice and Janine? Don't think I was watching it then.

I recall she accidentally killed Danielle though - that has got to be one of the most poignant storylines ever - seeing her running out of the Vic, in tears... Sad

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 12/06/2022 14:15

It was about the time I started watching. Janine and Michael were fighting over Scarlet. Alice for some unknown reason would do anything for Michael and was caring for Scarlet. There was a massive fight between them and Alice stabbed Michael, thought she had killed him and but he wasn't actually dead, Janine delivered the killer blow and claimed it was Alice. Alice confessed that she thought she had killed him and went to prison. Janine got away.

I think!

EmeraldShamrock1 · 13/06/2022 19:53

Chelsea was really kind and understanding to Stu.

I've warmed towards her character after her experience with psycho Gray.

Ben is probably right about the police and any charges sticking.

Jellykat · 13/06/2022 20:01

I agree, Chelsea was fab while talking to Stu!

Ouch clever Scarlett working it out... trouble is, she might agree to keep quiet for now, but one day..
