Is anyone else really excited about the new series tomorrow? I'm not sure if it's going to be a weekly episode or available to binge, but the trailer looks brilliant.

I can't wait to see what happens next although I'm dreading it too, as it inevitably will be the end of Kim in one way or another.

I’ve watched it too - brilliant! I have an important question, but daren’t post it yet due to spoilers.

hockeygrass · 12/07/2022 22:07

Agree, a gripping episode

Whataboutno · 12/07/2022 22:23

Amazing!

MsDogLady · 12/07/2022 23:53

Powerful episode. Really packed a punch!

MargotMoon · 13/07/2022 08:06

Fantastic episode!!

I thought there were going to be 7 more episodes but looks like there will be only 6 😢

Loved it. Wasn’t what I’d thought would happen….the event that happened was what I’d thought would happen right at the end of the series, but having thought about it, it’s right it happened now, so there’s plenty of time to focus on the relationship between Jimmy and Kim.

How long are we going to be cagey for? I have questions!

I don't think this is too much of a spoiler question - who put the gun where it was? I'm thinking Mike but I can't remember. I know we saw it being put there though

It was an amazing episode, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!

Answering OP's question, it was Gus.

Emotionalsupportviper · 14/07/2022 11:26

I think we can probably share stuff now.

I just knew that I had been the first to watch it (during the day) and wanted to give other people a chance to see it before jumping in - I'm going to watch it again because I'm sure I'll have missed tons of detail.

I really hate myself for liking Gus Fring. I know he's a wrong 'un, and he's has even had a child (a child!) killed etc, but he is so very personable and as tough as boots!

Of course this is how criminals often get away with so much - no-one believes that "such a lovely man" could be involved in such an awful trade.

Loved the latest episode
I am watching breaking bad just now for the second time. The only mismatch for me is that in breaking bad, Saul (jimmy) seems more or less happy go lucky hapless lawyer at the beginning who gets progressively more bogged down with Walt et Al. But if better call Saul stuff all came first he would have been much more hardened to all the goings on. I guess it’s just a mid match from filming better call Saul second

I agree, Gustavo hide the gun a few episodes ago...Lalo prob died a bit too easily though was a very clever scheming fella?

SocksAndTheCity · 14/07/2022 14:02

I think Lalo letting Jimmy 'talk him into' Kim going to shoot Gus instead of Jimmy was a red herring - Lalo knew all along it wouldn't happen or he would have stuck to his plan. Gus knew this too and guessed that Lalo was going for a diversion to get to the laundry which is how he knew to go over there himself 🤔

PuppyMonkey · 14/07/2022 19:46

I’m sorry to say goodbye to Lalo, what a great character the massive bastard. I totally thought Gus had no bullets in the gun and that Lalo was going to be standing there laughing, but of course, Gus had the bullets in the gun but just “kept on shooting” - brilliant.

Now we can focus on what happens to Kim.

This was going to be my query. I was convinced that Fring had no bullets - to me, it sounded like the trigger was just clicking and that no bullets were being fired. Was convinced that Lalo had found and emptied the gun! So I was very surprised to see the outcome, I was thinking “what did the damage, the gun was empty”.

MsVestibule · 15/07/2022 12:30

That's exactly what I thought! DH says he just continued shooting after it ran out of bullets (hence the clicking) but I'm not convinced.

No, it seemed to me that Gus did exactly what Lalo had told Jimmy/ Kim to do when he told them to go to Gus' houses and pull the trigger and keep on shooting even when the gun had run out of bullets. I think it's what you call poetic irony that it ended up that that's how Lalo met his end.

Whataboutno · 16/07/2022 19:41

Great interview with the actor who plays Lalo here

He was such a good baddie but glad it ended that way too so we can focus on Kim and Jimmy

Thank you, that makes sense - I've learned from this thread that I miss out on a lot of the subtleties!!! I'm obviously just very unobservant 😬.

I find I have to watch each episode at least twice then read the comments and opinions on the BCS subreddit so i don't miss anything, there's so much to take in and so many subtle references. Vince Gilligan himself has said it's a show that has to be watched carefully.
