On the plus side, Cain's ability to portray so much without saying a word is impressive. Still hoping for that Cain and Faith episode.

Thing about Al, he could be a brilliant character if they gave him a decent story instead of just having him shagging every woman in the village. I loved his scene with Billy about his childhood and when they did the lockdown episode. Also Billaay (ooh look what came up on my predictive text) acts well opposite him.

Not thrilled at Charles having a big story unless it results in him leaving the village.

That's true @JaneJeffer, the scene with Al and Billy talking about being a father was good.

Finally caught up. Great week so far.
It's such a relief not to have you know who around any more.

I have to say that Charles' scenes were miles better than I expected. No shouty, eye bulging except at the bar manager (whose accent I loved).

I love when they do a nighttime episode. Brilliant acting from everyone in Faith's story. I cried at the sunrise scene. Loved Eric and Brenda with Faith and the gorgeous music.

Could have done without Chas leaping onto Al.

Paul Riordan is an excellent director.

Feels good to be able to praise Emmerdale again.

Mad at Victoria for selling the field though!

The piece of music they were playing is Arvo Part - Spiegel im Spiegel. It's impossibly beautiful.

I don't like that Sandra. She's definitely up to something. Every time she is in Liv's life some kind of disaster befalls Liv. Just let Liv and Vinnie be happy!

Hopefully Vanessa's discovery that Suzy is/was into coke will mean she shows her the door. Yes, yet another annoying pointless character.

I want her to stay just to keep Vanessa away from Charity. Give Charity a decent story. She's back stuck behind the bar with a line here and there. Such a waste.
