Don't bother watching anymore. They all mumble.

It is genius. You can't decide on one episode. It is absolutely just the best thing on TV ever. Did you start in the middle? You have to start at the beginning.

stick with it it is better telly ever

Studio 60 pants in comparison

tribpot · 08/01/2008 12:42

Agreed. Start at the beginning and give it a chance.

prettybird · 08/01/2008 12:43

Whicch series do you have?

We think they are brilliant - although the later ones are not as good as the early ones.

Jed Barlett is the best president that America never had.

A lot of it is getting to know the characters and knowing how they will respond. That's partly why the dialogue is so dense.

kindersurprise · 08/01/2008 12:44

Stick with it. It is genius.

I will ignore you calling me a doofus, fish and admit that I never got The Sopranos thing. I watched one and gave up. So don't give up on WW - it truly is brilliant (but if you do and you don't want it you can give me the boxed set )

kindersurprise · 08/01/2008 12:44

oh, and I sometimes put on the subtitles if they mumbled too much

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 08/01/2008 12:45

I liked West Wing alot - haven't seen it since it's original run though, possibly dated? CJ very funny. Toby mumbles through his beard a lot. Martin Sheen is what you wish Presidents should be like.

It is fabulous.

I used to watch all of them with subtitles because the second series (I think) was when ds2 was a teeny baby and he used to cry a lot. Dh and I would take turns pacing up and down in the living room while watching the West Wing with subtitles. Ahhh, fond memories.

SorenLorensen · 08/01/2008 12:47

I gave up on Studio 60 too and I so wanted to like it.

TellusMater · 08/01/2008 12:48

OK. If you're after beautiful women then perhaps not West Wing - although pretty sure DH has some fantasies involving CJ...

Cappuccino · 08/01/2008 12:51

CJ is beautiful

LadyMuck · 08/01/2008 12:51

You need subtitles, but you can't miss it. Tis fab, though of course probably dated awfully.

TellusMater · 08/01/2008 12:52

CJ is a goddess.

But not in the Jordan mould...

6leggedeater · 08/01/2008 12:57

Cod, you will be hooked big time if you get to the end of the 1st series.

Look at my set now and again knowing I will be able to watch the whole thing again in 20 years 'for the first time' (one of the few advantages of old age and memory loss!)
