I can't believe the title of this thread - how can anyone not like the West Wing?!!

So is it worth me buying Studio 60 when I am over in UK at the end of the month?

I loved west wing and studio 60, both very snappy dialogue.

I promise you Cod once you have got all the way through a series you will want to watch more. I watched all 7 series in the school holidays a couple of years ago, fab.

It's a grower

lilibet · 08/01/2008 13:22

West Wing is the finest thing EVER

cod - you must not give up

You will soon be in love with it

I have been quoting bits of it to my mate today about the New Hampshire Primary - but I am a real geek

(waits patiently for Mars to come and kick cod's backside!)

West Wing was sent from heaven - the characters/dialogue/storylines. I love loved loved Josh.. even if his hair was scary.

Made me want to have a job where I was so wordy and intellecutal and had fast paced conversation with people walking down flettering lit corriders.. Fat chance working for NHS.

It did lose its way in series 5 but came bouncing back with Jimmy smitts.

We're currently watching reruns on More4.

Studio 60 was was a bit wanky to begin with but really hit the ground running and I'm gutted it was cancelled. Especially when there is so much utter crud on tv.

GrapefruitMoon · 08/01/2008 16:58

Ooh dh and I have started watching WW too -right from the start. I'm a bit daunted tbh at the thought of how many episodes there are though - and how many days of my life I am going to waste spend watching them!

paulaplumpbottom · 08/01/2008 17:00

Oh I loved it, I wish I could watch it again for the first time. Its one of the best shows ever made as long as you can look past all the liberal propaganda

TellusMater · 08/01/2008 17:02

God, I love the liberal propaganda

beansprout · 08/01/2008 17:05

We are working our way through the lot and are now on season five. Tis fab. And I love Josh, despite my better judgement.

paulaplumpbottom · 08/01/2008 17:10

I had a real thing for Will Bailey

I love Toby. Until the last series.

Slubberdegullion · 08/01/2008 19:14

tip: don't watch the west wing and attempt to do any other activity simultaneously. You will be not understanding the plot and doing your other activity in a shoddy fashion. seriously. not even eating nuts, too noisy and you will drop them down the sofa.

You need to be quiet and still to WW. Then the understanding comes.

DH always gets fired up when it is on and wants to talk politics to me (sheesh). I am waiting for series 4 on my DVD rental and am thinking of making a placard (a small one maybe on a table tennis bat) that says "Please desist until the credits", then I can just flourish it quickly when he starts up.

paulaplumpbottom - I always thought Will Baily looked like Professor Yaffle from Bagpuss!

Slubberdegullion · 08/01/2008 19:37

yes. just like those plane ones. With shiny taped edge for added effect.

paulaplumpbottom · 08/01/2008 19:54

Lol sorry I have no idea who that is

TellusMater · 08/01/2008 19:56

Professor Yaffle

TellusMater · 08/01/2008 19:56

He's a carved wooden bookend in the shape of a woodpecker

TellusMater · 08/01/2008 19:57

At least that's what he is when Bagpuss is asleep...
