If you were going to introduce Simeon's to Line of Duty which series would you show them? They don't live in UK so have never seen it and probably won't have time to watch all the series beginning at Season 1. So which to recommend?

Someone! No idea who Simeon is.

Series 3. I started with that and it sucked me in! Fantastic cast and story.

EsioTrot · 19/03/2022 23:26

I would go in from the start. Loved s1 and really enjoyed seeing how the story panned out from there.

EsioTrot · 19/03/2022 23:27

Sorry, just saw they wouldn't have time for them all.
I would still say s1 as I think they'll get sucked in and watch them all anyway Grin

Timeforsinging81 · 19/03/2022 23:36

I agree with s1, felt sympathy for the character and his predicament. And did not expect the ending!

BluebellStreet · 19/03/2022 23:45

One.
And four? The one with Jason Watkins and Thandiwe Newton.

MaryStuart · 19/03/2022 23:49

The Keeley Hawes one

DianaBarry5 · 19/03/2022 23:55

Definitely 4..

MrsBertBibby · 19/03/2022 23:58

Thandiwe Newton. No contest.

Longfurry · 20/03/2022 00:06

2, Keely Hawes. 1 and 3 also good.
4 poor.
5 the worst.

SueSaid · 20/03/2022 16:18

Definitely 2 & 3 the Keeley Hawes one. She was brilliant in it, so flawed but likeable too.

As an aside I think Tony getting a BJ off Jackie Laverty in series one was a bit unnecessary as was her very breathy voice.

JackieQueen · 20/03/2022 16:47

Definitely 3

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 20/03/2022 16:49

2, but it is a bit better if you've seen 1 first

PuppyMonkey · 20/03/2022 16:49

2 and 3 are the best ones and would be easy enough to follow for someone who hasn’t seen 1. Don’t bother with any of them after 3, it went completely shite after that one.

Simplelobsterhat · 20/03/2022 16:55
  1. Loved 3 as well but too much plot continuation from 2 to start there.
HelloDulling · 20/03/2022 16:56

1 and 2, if there is time.

BeanStew22 · 20/03/2022 17:06

You have to start with series 1 as it all builds

There are always options to stream this on various channels so if they like it they will be able to watch it later …
…. Maybe during the next pandemic Grin

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 20/03/2022 17:17

The ones with Lindsay Denton (obviously, see username). But I agree you should watch from series 1, which was very good.

Rotherweird · 20/03/2022 17:21

If you don't know it, I also really recommend the Shrine of Duty podcast, which has done recaps on all series and is hilarious.

Prudencia · 20/03/2022 17:22

Deffo 2 and 3

Hels20 · 20/03/2022 18:22

Series 1 could be quite stand alone…I think you really need to start at beginning. I though 2 and 3 were the best but enjoyed 1 and 4. 5 and 6 were pretty rubbish.

Candlecassie · 20/03/2022 18:32

2 and 3. The end of 3 was thrilling. Then 1, then 5, 4 and 6.

Ellmau · 20/03/2022 20:27

Start with 2. 3 is the absolute best but it draws so much on 2 they're really a single arc.

partystress · 20/03/2022 20:50

2, 1 and 3 in that order.

The rest a bit shite really (especially the one with Thandie Newton and Jason Watkins) but worth watching for the formula.

DarleneSnell · 20/03/2022 21:34

@Ellmau

Yes fully agree with this assessment of 2 and 3, it really was a white-knuckle TV!

Except I think you might as well start with 1 which is also good and lays a lot of the groundwork.
