@EmeraldShamrock1 it feels like they're taking the mick out of jean. I couldn't watch it. I'm watching the ones from 2009 and staceys relapse was written out so much better.

Janine has actually been good to Mick and Shirley recently to be fair. Even Shirley seems to have softened a little bit.

She did get Linda back on the booze but Mick couldn't accept they were over so I feel like he needed a reason to cut her off properly.

Yeah but their marriage was practically already over by that point. I'm not saying she was right to make her drink but it did help Mick see clearly.

I'm getting a bit bored with mental illness being used as a plot device. We've had a crash course in schizophrenia with Isaac. Bobby and OCD, v badly done. Now Jean's gone manic... Soaps used to be character-led, now they seem to be obsessed with characters acting out of character to create a bit of drama. It was much more interesting when silly Jean and her sausage surprise had turned into the only one talking sense, due to her experience with illness and the loss of Daniel.

Yes, Janine deleted a text from Linda on Micks phone to meet up. Was a while ago before she met up with her at her mum's pub pretending to be someone else and made her drink again etc ( not that she had totally given it up anyway I think )
