Ok here’s our next weekly series

Has good reviews

In the newly partitioned city of Berlin, Harry Palmer is a sharp working-class young man with sophisticated tastes determined to make a lot of money. A wholesaler, retailer, fixer, smuggler, Harry’s varied interests bring him into contact with everything and everyone in Berlin in the early 1960s – until the law catches up and it all comes crashing to a halt.

Harry finds himself sentenced to eight years in a grim military jail in England, all his prospects abruptly torn away. But his impressive network and efficiency have not gone unnoticed, and a gentleman from British intelligence has a proposal.

To avoid prison, Harry Palmer will become a spy. And the case on which he cuts his teeth will be 'The Ipcress File'.

Harry’s links to the man suspected of kidnapping a missing British nuclear scientist result in him being conscripted for a dangerous undercover mission that takes him from the Beatles’ London to the Berlin Wall, from the back alleys of Beirut to the white hot sand of a Nuclear Atoll in the Pacific.

Whoever is in charge of scheduling at ITV needs sacking. DS1 nagging to stay up late as it's the holidays. Might try and watch it at 10pm Hmm

That must have been a very early model non stick frying pan the steaks were cooked in.

Alice should have her own series! What a woman, what a spy.

WhatICallMyUsername · 10/04/2022 21:48

It's The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe next Sunday at 9pm. Looking forward to that one!

Looking forward to that, nice interview with Eddie Marsan in the Guardian online. I used to buy a bacon sandwich from the same cafe every morning, it lasted me exactly the right time to get to my work.

Satisfactory tying up of loose ends.

WhatICallMyUsername · 10/04/2022 23:35

Finally finished watching it after DS2 decided he wanted to join the party Hmm

DH and I both enjoyed it. It was nice to have a finish to a series although I said to DH if they've stuck to the original that was made when films had a beginning, a middle and an end. No leaving stuff hanging for viewers! So maybe that's why!

I've really enjoyed this and the 60's styling has been great throughout, especially the recap over the titles at the start of each episode.

Always loved Tom Hollander's acting but I have to say that in this I also found him very sexy as Dalby, especially the more ruthless side of him Blush. I also think Alice deserves her own series - she was ace in the final episode.
