For next week /

OP posts:
Ellmau · 18/02/2022 00:04

Oh dear. Both teams failed to realise that niche/unique was not the way to go.

I did think the Beepure pod design was quite attractive though, even if it was a bit random/Brittany pushing her personal interest onto the task.

I have slightly warmed to Kathryn this week.

AlexaShutUp · 18/02/2022 00:08

@SwedishEdith

Why are they all saying she's really intelligent? Just shows how easily people are influenced by accents
DD was laughing at that and the way they talked about how intelligent she was and then cut straight to a clip of her saying something really stupid!Grin A nice little bit of ironic editing.

My theory is that none of them could think of anything nice to say about her as a person so they talked about her being clever instead... they had to say something! From what she said on you're fired, it didn't sound like she actually got on with the others in the house at all...

AlexaShutUp · 18/02/2022 00:14

I like Kathryn and I think she's quite good. Steph also seems capable. Harpreet sold well tonight but I do find her really annoying and I can't get past her weird clicking thing when she was PM. Brittany is irritating as hell.

None of the boys seem to be any good. I adore Nick and don't want him to go but he's pretty useless. Akeem is hilarious to watch, but my goodness, the poor man needs to find a mind of his own. Akshaye is likeable and a good talker but doesn't seem that good at actually doing anything else. And Aaron...I didn't really notice what he was doing tonight, I just know that he likes designing stuff that looks like poo!Grin

Agree with all of this.
Sophie has crazy eyes. And it was obvious she held a personal grudge in the boardroom.

dillite · 18/02/2022 06:48

I completely missed that Aaron is still in! That's how much he contributed last night.

Sittinginthesand · 18/02/2022 07:45

I’m finding this series less gripping than normal. I don’t know why, maybe it’s that they almost seem set up fail with no collaboration between the designers and branding, why not let them speak when they want and send each other photos etc to let them do a better, and more realistic job. It seems a pointless bit of ‘jeopardy’. The task was basic - just branding. This week’s losing time did make some sales so the complete trashing seemed over the top, why not allow a bit of nuance in the discussion. They aren’t allowed to adjust their ideas after their ‘customer research’. And it was obvious that the ‘buyers’ weren’t really buying the pods anyway! It all just seems a bit fake and the girls’ weirdly similar bright dresses make it look visually less real life.

Riverlee · 18/02/2022 07:53

I loved the fight between Sophie and Kathryn in the boardroom.

Sophie looked defeated when she had to choose two people. An indecision said everything. She knew she wouldn’t win against Kathryn.

What’s Nick’s business plan? He’s the cat who has nine lives in this series.

LavenderAskew · 18/02/2022 08:25

I agree, it's just not great this year. Tasks are just ridiculous. No way anyone could succeed without some form of input from marketing feedback or consulting with each other.

The contestant are just, well, just...

Not getting why people like Nick and want him to win. He's useless like a wet tissue.

Aaran seems to just hang about in the background. Possibly he's still in recovery from creating a poo tooth brush.

Akeem has no ability to lead.

Akshay, self-delusion is his greatest street.

Brittany just seems on edge, like on the verge of losing it or gettjng really upset.

The remaining three women are probably the best of them and that's disappointing.

I agree with this Alexa. The women dominate the men, who seem to fade into the background.

Unless she cocks up within the next few weeks, I can see Kathryn winning this.

LavenderAskew · 18/02/2022 08:41

Do you think there will be an interview round this year? Think the men wouldn't cope , based on they way they have been.

AlexaShutUp · 18/02/2022 08:43

I really want to see Akeem being interviewed.Grin

Maireas · 18/02/2022 08:45

Yes, one of the interview panel was on You're Fired. Claudine Collins (?)
LavenderAskew · 18/02/2022 09:05

Great.

Don't watch You've Been Fired, as it's not on just after for me. Think it's about and hour later.

Fizbosshoes · 18/02/2022 09:06

I thought Kathryn looked a strong contender yesterday. Sophie didn't take her in the boardroom because she knew Kathryn would wipe the floor with her.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 18/02/2022 11:27

Bloody hell.

I’m glad that Akeem got through.

Poor lad doesn’t know if he is a bowl of custard or a marketing mogul. He will crumble to dust if lovely Linda questions him.

Sophie missed a trick. She should have just accused Akeem of being the team leader instead of her, he’d have said he was and he would have been gone.

Bless Sophie bleating. Not a good look.

Nick should’ve been gone too.

Maireas · 18/02/2022 11:54

Akeem is sweet, but you're right, Sheldon - Linda Plant will break him, quite possibly Claudine too, if You're Fired is anything to go by. Not impressed by Sophie. She had a very expensive private education, maybe that impressed some housemates?

WhyPaulMemory · 18/02/2022 12:28

It’s been hard to get into this series as they’re all so useless. I like Akeem, but he really needs to grow a spine, he’s so wet! Kathryn has improved on me, I can see her getting to the final.

I’m glad Sophie went this week, she was an awful project manager and after saying she didn’t want the pod to be tacky she eventually produced the Vengabus! No wonder Network rail didn’t think it was quite right…

MichaelAndEagle · 18/02/2022 12:28

What was Sophie's business idea.

Maireas · 18/02/2022 12:31

@MichaelAndEagle

What was Sophie's business idea.
Boutique cocktails. Or is that Bouji cocktails?
MichaelAndEagle · 18/02/2022 12:32

Ah, makes sense. Thanks

Bobbybobbins · 18/02/2022 12:40

My predictions for the five who will be interviewed are: Steph, Kathryn, Harpreet, Akeem - then can't decide between Brittany/Aaron/Akshay. Nick is useless.

Pandoh · 18/02/2022 13:17

I really like Nick, he's terrible at tasks but entertaining, but I think he will leave soon which is fair to make way for the better ones to progress. I don't really have a favourite I'm backing to win, lots of them have some really good attributes but don't seem to be many aside from Kathryn that are the 'full package'. Brittany for example has good input if someone else is leading, but when left to lead herself her ideas are bloody awful. Akeem is really clever and seems lovely but terrible at leading and making decisions. The others don't have much of an opinion on, would like the guy who's been in the boardroom loads to pull it together and take the win though :D

AlexaShutUp · 18/02/2022 13:23

There is something very endearing about Nick, despite his crapness. Smile

Porfre · 18/02/2022 13:50

I really like Akeem.
He seems really honest, and open to others opinions. He just needs to believe in himself a bit more.

Nick is a wet lettuce, it seems hes managed to cruise through life relying on his accent and manner, doesnt seem to be much there- a bit gormless, reminds me a bit of Boris.

Sophie definitely deserved to go. If you watch You're fired there was an awkward bit where they asked her who she got on with in the house, and she just sat there trying to come up with an acceptable answer, and talking about people playing games. In the end she settled with saying she got on with everyone, but you could tell she hated living in the house and didnt really get on with the other housemates.

I did feel a bit sorry for her on You're Fired because she always looked annoyed and angry all the time on the show, but I've also got a resting bitch face and am always asked what's wrong , and why I'm so annoyed, so could also easily be taken the wrong way.
