For next week /

Why - why would you set your ticket price before you know what it's going to cost you to run???

Both 'tour guides' were tragically bad.

A watercolour experience when it might rain seems like a dubious prospect - but actually in this case the rain actually saved them because they could let the participants continue their paintings on board the train without making them feel hurried way for time reasons.

Amy clearly thought she was a much better sales person than she was.

It's not just about percentage. The unit price would presumably have been higher for the whiskey than for a cheese hamper.

JustDanceAddict · 11/02/2022 07:21

Thank goodness Amy went it I was going to shove that megaphone where the sun don’t shine.

LavenderAskew · 11/02/2022 07:31

Didn't get a chance to post last night. Will do later as I'm off working down to mines for the day and need to heat up my soup for lunch first.

Canaloha · 11/02/2022 07:36

Both were awful weren't they, I was quite surprised which team one as I thought at least a few of fhem would ask for refunds. It would have been interesting to know how much of the profit was made from the whisky sales as they seemed to be gunning for Sophie even though the sales there probably tipped them to victory. The mines tour was awful, I think I'd have had all 3 learning the history and then each could have said a bit or at least helped him out when he got stuck.

Maireas · 12/02/2022 10:02

@Queeniepies

That bloke Nick annoys me so much! He just frowns, and complains, and looks scared and startled all the time
Doesn't he? He manages to combine arrogance and ignorance with a lack of charm.
Maireas · 12/02/2022 10:03

@SheldonesqueTheBstard

Breathtaking tractors.
That made me laugh so much! 😂😂😂
Maireas · 12/02/2022 10:11

Amy had no redeeming qualities. Linda got the measure of her completely.
Another poor show from the candidates - no-one is standing out. Apart from Kathryn's false eyelashes which should have a show of their own.
I'm amazed that they all struggle so much with the tasks. There's no wit or creativity.

Are you taking it with you in a tureen @LavenderAskew or are you going to heat it up once you're down there? Grin

I missed a chunk of Thursday's show as DH and DS were in fits over the soup comment for about 10 minutes.

LavenderAskew · 12/02/2022 18:47

Sorry, took me a while to get out the mines. I had to eat my soup and bread in the dark. Then got caught up in some chains.

Anyway, you will be amazed and shocked to hear my soup was cold and there was no where to heat it up. Can you believe it!!!!

It was almost like soup isn't a good food for miners!!!

Canaloha · 12/02/2022 18:50

Anyone else developing a crush on nick showering

Italiangreyhound · 13/02/2022 00:18

Quite a good episode. Think Kathryn did quite well. Such a shame they lost by a small amount. I am not sure I'd be desperate to pay a tip after paying a high fee! But it was a good idea to ask so Stephanie Affleck has gone up in my estimation.

JoanWilderbeast · 13/02/2022 20:49

I think they're being set up to fail as a default now, as the producers assume that's what people watch for.

Italiangreyhound · 13/02/2022 21:17

JoanWilderbeast totally agree.

Find Sugar and his condescending attitude most irritating.

longwayoff · 13/02/2022 23:34

This series is poor. Sir Alan's lost his mojo and the applicants? Contestants? Whatever they are, they are a poor selection without much drive. I think this show is due for retirement now.

psychomath · 13/02/2022 23:34

Is it just me who really likes Kathryn? She seems to be genuinely having a blast most of the time even though it must all be quite stressful. Apparently she was previously on some Bear Grylls survival show and helped catch a crocodile, so maybe this is easy in comparison!

psychomath · 13/02/2022 23:35

I love her pyjama range too - kinda hoping she wins just so she can get some more designs in Grin

Italiangreyhound · 14/02/2022 22:42

psychomath I like Kathryn too, and Harpreet.

Unlike many I don't think the tasks are a right doddle. I think what's hard is working with a bunch of total strangers doing so etching on two days that normally takes 6 months! I was hoping for an all female final 4... But now I think it'll be Harpreet Kathryn, Stephanie and Akeem (because I like him!)

psychomath · 15/02/2022 00:05

Yes same here Italiangreyhound - having actually done some stuff like amateur event organising and tour guiding in the past, if you don't have professional experience it's a lot harder than most people would think. And that's without having to work with a group of virtual strangers and a TV camera in your face the whole time. Not to say some of their efforts aren't laughable (that godawful cruise ship logo! What were they thinking?!) but I think they quite often do better than most people give them credit for, considering the time and other constraints.

psychomath · 15/02/2022 00:07

I like Akeem and Harpreet too - not sure which one is Stephanie though Blush

LavenderAskew · 15/02/2022 07:31

I think the challenges are ridiculous. They all seem to be ones that they need expertise for and have no way of getting. Then the market research is done after.

I don't recall this before - I'm sure they had some consultation with an expert in previous years.

Kathryn I can't watch to, because her lipstick annoys me. Which I won't lie, I am aware makes me shallow.

Now if I've got the right blonde in body con, Stephanie shows some customer smarts. I think it was her would gave a free bottle of water when the good order was delayed and thought to collect tips.

I can recall anyone else's names at all, but know I'm unsure about all the men. The soup and bread on seems like the least worst. Maybe.

LavenderAskew · 15/02/2022 07:31
  • good order is supposed to be "food order"
SheldonesqueTheBstard · 15/02/2022 13:12

I like Akeem.

His death cave tour? Not so much.

It reminded me of the League of Gentleman ‘Stump Hole’. Grin

Remember the guide on your way out… ‘kyou.

Italiangreyhound · 15/02/2022 13:34

Stephanie was the one thought of going round with the tip jar and got a £20 tip.

Maireas · 15/02/2022 14:55

I like Akeem too - he seems bright. Sugar said as much the other week.
The League of Gentlemen quote made me laugh, Sheldon! So true!

Pebbledashery · 17/02/2022 19:54

Bumping for later
