Has anyone started on this? I watched the first two episodes this morning and really enjoyed it!

Lily James's transformation into Pamela Anderson is uncanny and Sebastian Stan's commitment to leopard print thongs, and what I assume are stencilled tattoos and fake genitalia, has to be admired!

I don't think either of them was involved in making the series. It was based on books, articles, interviews, etc.

I'm just uncomfortable with people putting words into her mouth. If she wanted to speak out about it, she could.

No one actually knows how she feels about it. So, I don't think it's right that people are saying what she thinks.

Just watched Episode 4!

It's just such a crazy story. I can't wrap my head around the fact that this all actually happened.
I did laugh when Tommy was listing all the people who hate him. it's a pretty long list.
I really love the 90s soundtrack.

I won't post any spoilers.

I’m kind of glad they’re releasing this weekly rather than all in one go because it’s given me the chance to drop this rather than binge it all in one go and feel grubby after watching it all. I don’t think I can watch any more of it, it just feels wrong.

Absolute shocker that she'd be involved in something like this.

I enjoyed the first couple of episodes as I was interested in their story, but ots distressing to see just how devastating this would have been for them at the time, and ever since. And then it gets brought to the surface again in this way.

I saw an interview with her last year and she seems very sensible now. Quite reclusive. Lives a quiet life.

We all know the tape existed but i didnt know much about the circumstances. I guess i never really cared about the impact it had on her. Not that i watched it obviously

The programme brings her to life more and shows she wasn't just a playboy model with false boobs who lived life in the fast lane

He seems vile.

She made some mistakes but the main mistake was marrying him. I really feel for her, she's been very brave

I feel sorry for Pam. She married a man whose career was on the slide (at the time) and yes he probably loved her but Pam's star was ascending and being her husband did Tommy a favour tbh.

The men on Baywatch couldn't trust her with a monologue they just wanted her body to jiggle on camera. Even the swimsuit wedgie was commented on. She was about to leave BW and try out for the movies when this sex tape came out. OK, the film was crap, but still. She wanted better things for herself but men kept impeding her. She wasn't a person to these men, but a commodity to make money. Of course, I'm seeing this through 2022 eyes but there was a lot of this going on back then, and it still goes on today.

I watched it last night, tbh I only started watching it because I heard about the talking dick and couldn't picture it...I don't get why they needed to do it. I can well imagine TL talking to his dick but why was the animatronic flipping about needed? Why did we need to see it talking back? Just odd.

I don't think I'm going to watch anymore, I thought PA may have been consulted but obvioulsy not. It must be horrible for her to have it all dragged up again. Also I was reading about the sexual abuse she suffered when younger which I had no idea about. I think she deserves to be left in peace which is obvioulsy what she wants now.

If anything, this show really makes you realise the impact it must have had on her life. We're all guilty of gawping and laughing at celebs and I certainly until now have never thought about how it must have made her feel.

@SpikeySmooth I totally get where your coming from but she was already typecast, lets not forget the horror that was 'Barb Wire', I dont think she was talented enough to break away from that and I dont mean that to sound dickish, as lets face it the majority of us wouldnt make it as movie stars!

Yes, I think he served 6 months in prison for attacking her while she was holding one of the children. But they got back together again after he got out of prison.

I watched The Dirt and I felt it kind of glossed over his violent side a bit, so I hope this show will be more honest.

I mean she had an on/off relationship with Tommy Lee even after they split up.

She also had a relationship or friendship or something with Julien Assange.

I think she's an interesting person but I don't know if her life would have been so different without the tape. The other Baywatch stars were never big stars outside of Baywatch either.

I watched it and I agree that is not great that Pamela wasn’t on board with it.

It does present her much more positively than I thought it was going to. She comes across as a nice person who became a total people pleaser and made some poor choices. She ended up stuck in roles and situations because the world just saw her as a pair of boobs.

The scenes in the first episode where she has to go to Cancun and act as some kind of group escort for a bunch of men are kind of horrifying. As were the on set at baywatch ones with the directors.

I did think that it presented Rand too sympathetically though. The way it was done was intended to evoke sympathy for him running around hiding from protect himself or haranguing others profiting off the tape. Obviously he did look like a hypocrite but what he did was utterly reprehensible. Not least because he took his revenge out on Pamela (explicitly - the website made that clear) because he was pissed off with Tommy’s shitty behaviour (that she didn’t know about or even condone). He was a total shit.

Started watching this tonight and I’m really enjoying it.
Very clever use of music , really takes you back to the carefree nineties.
I will admit, it took me a while to realise the actor I thought looked just like Seth Rogen .is actually Seth Rogen! Grin

The latest episode is a bit short. It felt like a bit of a filler episode unless they had to cut stuff for legal reasons. I think SS and LJ have really nailed Tommy and Pam. They are both great!

Watching it as I am a huge fan of motley cruel, and I like Pamela too.

I hope she has watched it because I think she'd be pleased that they have portrayed her as a genuinely nice and kind woman, which I think she is, and this show would make people much more sympathetic of how traumatic this was for her at the time.

I preferred MGK as Tommy in The Dirt too , I just don't like Sebastian Stan although the talking cock did amuse me.

Exactly this. She didn't do anything wrong, it was Tommy he was pissed at. I think he saw $$$ and the video itself wasn't about vengeance by this point.

I think after the sex tape was released, another came to light that was filmed a couple of years earlier so she had to deal with that too.
