Has anyone started on this? I watched the first two episodes this morning and really enjoyed it!

Lily James's transformation into Pamela Anderson is uncanny and Sebastian Stan's commitment to leopard print thongs, and what I assume are stencilled tattoos and fake genitalia, has to be admired!

I enjoyed it much more than i thought I was going to! The leads are fully committed to it aren't they? Also the scene where he approaches her in the club got me a little hot under the collar. I don't know what's happening to me.... Must be coming down with something

I don’t know, I watched the first two but wasn’t interested enough to watch the third yet, I might but I wouldn’t feel I was missing out if I don’t.

It feels a bit like it’s been hashed together by whatever had been read in the tabloids from that time and it shows because the characters are really one dimensional. The scenes with the two of them, not the stuff from the tape, isn’t based on anything, it’s pure speculation and feels a bit judgemental. The scene on the plane after the wedding where they realise they don’t know anything about each other just felt a bit like the makers were showing how stupid they thought they were. I’m hoping the tone changes in the next episode.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of trashy tv and wasn’t expecting a documentary but it feels a bit weird watching something about real people that hasn’t had their involvement. Also the talking penis is plain weird.

A lot of it is taken from Lee's autobiography, especially the talking penis part. I'm not saying he's a reliable source though

I’m still not sure it was fair on Pamela Anderson to film this but I think they’ve done it in a slightly offbeat way. It does remind me of ‘I, Tonya’ that the director did before, in tone.
It gets darker in ep 3, you get them becoming more 3-D especially Lily James as Pam. There’s probably a lot that could get cut (Seth Rogens character has way too much backstory) but the inexorable outing and production of the tape is looming as the newlyweds get to know each other - you just get more heartsick at what she’s about to go through.

I think she’s doing a great job of the fragility of PA. Picking the wrong guys, wanting to be a credible actor but stuck in that swimsuit.

Sebastian Stan is having a whale of a time prowling and smouldering, the penis thing was weird but emphasised the drug fuelled rockstar self-indulgent behaviour that was Tommy Lee’s letdown.

I bet the real Tommy Lee thinks it's awesome and the real Pamela is mortified by the whole thing though.

I had actually lost track of what P&T have been up to in recent years but apparently he recently married wife no 4 (Pam was 3 and I'd forgotten Heather Locklear was 2!) and she's divorced from husband no 5, which was marriage no 6!

I’m stuck at home with covid so this was the perfect distraction, really enjoyed the first three episodes.

Feel sorry for Pamela having it all dragged up again though. Tommy I bet is loving it

I didn't know they'd married so many times but judging by how they're instantly in love and really seem to believe it, I can understand why. I sort of envy them falling so hard I don't love easily 😂

@Inspirationpending @TigerLilyTail I don’t think Tommy will feel flattered if he’s got any insight at all, but he’s probably just going to focus on the portrayal of his penis.

I think Tommy is crazy and a total narcissist. I don't think he will give a fuck about looking like a dick. He will just think how awesome he is and how wild and crazy the whole thing was.

I feel sorry for Pamela though. I think it was much harder on her and thinking about their sons.

I was weirdly obsessed with Tommy Lee a few years ago so understandably have been so excited for this!

Their sons seem well-adjusted young men who've avoided scandal so I guess Pamela and Tommy did something right! Even if they do have the names of the lead characters in the original Beverley Hills 90210 😆

Not watching it, think it's a bit grim when pam herself is horrified by it.
Do think the change to get into character is very impressive though!

I seem to remember Brandon knocked Tommy out a few years ago and said he was a shit dad, so I think it's more down to Pammy raising them well. I don't think Tommy did much.

The transformation is astounding lily james had all sorts of prosthetics and body moulds (including the boobs) and hours in the make up chair
I understand that its very good at highlighting the double standards and misogyny PA faced through this that being said im.sure she would rather it wasnt bringing the whole saga back to the forefront

They're prosthetics that were built over her own chest. Same for Tommy's erm, equipment too. The makeup artists said Sebastian S had to basically put it on and then they had to paint it to make it look realistic. Every day!

She definately is - they are a slightly different colour (slightly greyer!) than the rest of her.

Quite disconcerting, really As, I imaging walking around with fake breasts on show must be. Like, they're not real, but it still must feel very odd!

I'm loving this. Everyone's acting is great, and I love the perspectives. Hopefully Pam is just rolling her eyes

I am on E2 and loving it. Lily James was a good choice for the role.

I thought the scene on set in episode three encapsulated a lot of things - she was relaxed with the women doing her make up and hair in the trailer, there was camaraderie as they all sang along to the radio. Then she walks out to a line of men making decisions for her.

If you watch the old Ruby Wax interviews with her, Ruby says Pam was a girl's girl (or something to that effect).
