Pam and Tommy - Disney+

Has anyone started on this? I watched the first two episodes this morning and really enjoyed it!

Lily James's transformation into Pamela Anderson is uncanny and Sebastian Stan's commitment to leopard print thongs, and what I assume are stencilled tattoos and fake genitalia, has to be admired!

I actually think she's a really nice, misunderstood person. I've always been impressed when I've seen her interviewed, especially over the past decade or so. She is NOTHING like the media portrayed her to be.

I actually think so far they have given a very sympathetic view of Pam and the challenges she faced. I'm sure she must have been horrified when they announced they were making a series about her and Tommy's marriage, but hopefully she will feel vindicated a bit.

So, the next episode is out on Monday?

From what I can gather from LJ's interviews though I don't think Pammie was onboard with it.

She mentions trying to contact her for 'research' on the role but no response from PA.

I've watched the first 3 episodes this week and enjoyed it so far. I did skip a few scenes (talking penis 😄) but I actually think it's quite clever and funny. LJ and SS are excellent. Really well cast.

I think they have done it really well. And I think it will show how traumatic it was for Pam at the time and how unfair the whole thing was.

A lot of people didn't realise it was stolen like it was from what I have seen either.

And I do think the talking penis is a thing Tommy Lee used to do. Read somewhere it was in a book he'd written or rather, had written about him.

I found time to watch the third one last night, there was a bit more heart to this one so I think I’ll stick with it. I really felt for her in this episode and the shit that she was dealing with at work. It was gutting how happy she was finding out she was pregnant and (as a viewer) knowing the shitstorm that’s coming when it should’ve been the best time for her.

Tommy Lee was up for it and has spoken a lot with Sebastian Stan. Pamela Anderson has declined to comment either way. Only her 'friends' have spoken to the media about it. Nothing has come from her

I'm on episode 2, seems ok so far. Lily James transformation is incredible. Maybe it's just me but I'm struggling to get into Tommy's character here. I preferred MGK in The Dirt, but still. Always thought the real Tommy Lee is a bit of a dick but Pamela Anderson is a lot more intelligent than she's ever been given credit for.

Watched the first one so far, and I'm not massively impressed. I would say 4.5/10. 'Pam' is hardly in ep 1. She says 3 or 4 words I think! I'll give it another shot though, and watch eps 2 and 3 this weekend.

How they managed to make Lily James look like Pam baffles me though. It's incredible!

I bet it's hard for PA even though it's a sympathetic portrayal of her because everyone will be digging up that video now long after interest in it died down. I get the impression that she was much more upset about it being leaked than he was.

I imagine it was devastating for her @1000umbrellas I remember the court case and it being said to her "why would she care" about the video when she'd posed naked for Playboy.

The two are very different entities to me. One was a choice, one was forced upon her. It was a private video, that was always intended to be private. I doubt she ever wanted people to view her in that way and she was subjected to a lot of derogatory comments.

Just set up a kids account. There is loads of stuff on Disney that the kids can't watch.

Yes, there is quite a lot of stuff not suitable for kids on Disney Plus.

Disney plus own abc or something now hence all of the more adult programmes and films that were added.

I wanted to watch it but I can't bring myself to seen as though Pamela Anderson didn't want it to be made and had no choice in it. I think that's really sad and must actually be quite disturbing to have your personal life resurrected for views and money.

I enjoyed it. They are all being portrayed with a bit of care.

I didn't know they married after 4 days of dating. I forgot they had two sons. Imagine all you could not know about someone if you only partied with them for a few days.

I thought the scene of them on the plane coming back after their honeymoon was particularly good. Days of sex and drugs and then they realised they knew next to nothing about each other.

Not sure how many episodes there are - it's usually 8 from all the streaming channels.

She refused to be involved at all and lots of her friends have commented on how upset she is. As she has retreated immensely from the spotlight to carve out a new life for herself, she has spoken a lot about how the release of the sex tape ruined and affected her life and how distressing it was; I'd say it doesn't take Einstein to figure it out. Then again the entertainment industry exploting women for profit is nought new is it.
