Some comments on this thread are a bit nasty really, unless you KNOW the actual ins and outs (not the stuff that we see in the media) then you have no place to judge.
Katie Price has had an unusual life, she was on page 3 as a 17 year old so before she was actually an adult, and repeatedly exploited and used by men and the media since. She has obviously got issues which is expected due the the crazy life she's had.
She doesn't seem to be a nasty or evil person, she comes across to me that she just wants to be loved? Not denying that some stuff I've read about her is 🙄 but is it all true? And why is no one helping her? I've read that she's trying to or may actually be pregnant, it makes me sad that she's evidently set for more drama and heartbreak if this is true.

The main thing is she loves those children

That really isn't enough

Well it is a massive start.

She has 5 dc - that massive start should have maybe been in 2002 when Harvey was born.... 20 years later too little too late

SantaHat · 30/01/2022 11:00

I’m not saying she is, but I suspect the two people who have harassment/restraining orders against her (and the courts) would disagree.

TheVolturi · 30/01/2022 11:02

And all the people on their high horse here are perfect parents I expect. Easy to say from behind a screen.

So people who don’t take illegal drugs, drive high, distribute revenge porn, harass people or have their children removed are on their high horse, right.
SantaHat · 30/01/2022 11:11

Nope, because no one is perfect. But that also doesn’t mean you can’t criticise someone who puts themselves, their family and the general public repeatedly at risk and should be behind bars. Nor does it also prevent me being incredibly frustrated that her fans are still funding and supporting all this by fawning over her.

swallowedAfly · 30/01/2022 11:12

Tbf there's a gulf of distance for people on here to fall into between perfect parents and KP!

TheVolturi · 30/01/2022 11:44

I have not said she's perfect, not for a second. Just that she's been through a lot and it's not fair to judge. If you are totally perfect then yeah you can go ahead and judge all you like. The reality is that no one is perfect and we might not all go around taking drugs and drink driving, but she's acting like this because she needs help primarily, and she's getting away with it. If no one steps in to stop it, ie sectioning her, rehab or locking her up for crimes then she will end up dead.

She's been a fantastic mum to Harvey despite her mental health issues and doing it on her own

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 30/01/2022 12:19

There is also the issue of exploitation, Harvey as a person deserves a certain amount of privacy.

///

I agree. There is a fine line between allowing the public to see your relationship with your child to raise awareness and normalise a condition and benefiting ££ from continuing to do so.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 30/01/2022 12:20

@Buttercup2000

Jeez no wonder Katie suffers with her mental health and felt suicidal with all these horrible negative comments. Talk about putting someone down when they are already at a low point in their life. Majority of people use drugs and alcohol to escape their problems and feelings.

I actually really hope she is not reading this thread as people have torn her to shreds.
Quite sad really.
I just wish her all the best.
In the programme you could quite clearly she was trying to get her life on track after dark times.

Much of what she's experiencing and exposing her kids to is a choice she's made.
tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 30/01/2022 12:23

Going to the Priory has certainly helped her. To avoid doing time I'll bet.

I wonder if in a year her life and choices will have materially changed for the better.

My concern is that as long as tv viewers continue to feed demand for seeing the chaos of her life, there is motivation for it to continue and the harm to her kids to go on.

But hey, as long as their mum loves them that's ok Confused

If you are setting the bar so low then yes, I'm sure many parents here are making much better choices, putting their kids needs before their own.
Doubleraspberry · 30/01/2022 12:27

Compared to a lot of very troubled people, KP has had enormous resources to support her accessing help. She’s been able to have in-patient rehab treatment. She’s been able to take time off work. She has a family around her. At some point, individual accountability comes into it. What help do you think she needs that she hasn’t already been offered? When it come to it, we can all only do the work ourselves.

SantaHat · 30/01/2022 12:29

This thread genuinely concerns me at just how hideously low the bar is for some people about parenting.

SantaHat · 30/01/2022 12:33

I mean this genuinely, what’s has she done for Harvey that is so impressive? And she hasn’t been on her own! She’s had her millions (in the past!) to give her resources (included hired help) utterly unavailable to most single mums and she hasn’t been a single mum. She’s had 3 husbands and numerous other fiancé’s for the whole of his life.

Rosewaterblossom · 30/01/2022 12:35

I don't agree about her "poor" exes because no way would Peter Andre still be heard of in the press for so many years after the jungle if he hadn't married KP, had 2 kids and got a reality show. He was famous for 1 song in the 90s which he rehashed in the 00s. He may have had a little more fame after the jungle but definitely would have disappeared again and certainly wouldn't be famous 2022.

As for Kieran, have people forgotten he cheated on KP several times with her friends! Why he comes off as the "poor ex" is beyond me...

No one is perfect no. Everyone makes mistakes, yes. But the problem is she seems to never learn from her mistakes. She makes the same mistakes again and again.

Yes, she feeds into the drama every time she has a photoshoot, does a show or a magazine cover. Her children are constantly in the public eye. Other celebrities very much keep their children out of the public eye but she does seem to expose hers to make money constantly.

swallowedAfly · 30/01/2022 13:14

How are you not seeing the gulf between being perfect and KP?

I'm a single Mum (as in actually single, not bouncing from one marriage to the next for my son's life) and I have mental health issues and no millions to spend on treatment at any point in my life.

Far from perfect but a hell of a long way from putting abusive men ahead of my child, bouncing from one chaotic relationship to another, repeatedly driving without a license off my face on drugs repeatedly, collecting criminal charges and restraining orders, having to have my child taken away from me etc.

By the standards on this thread it seems I need a medal or something.

Buttercup2000 · 30/01/2022 13:24

@SantaHat

This thread concerns be about how judgemental and nasty people can be about those that have suffered mental health illnesses.
CallmeHendricks · 30/01/2022 13:26

"If you are totally perfect then yeah you can go ahead and judge all you like."
I'm by no means perfect, but am I going to judge someone who repeatedly drives a car drunk/off her face on drugs whilst already banned?
Hell yes.

Cherrypie32 · 30/01/2022 13:29

This entirely. On leaving the Priory, which was a pay off for a prison sentence, she claimed she was going to have a drama free 2022. Since then she’s publicly abused her children’s fathers and partners (who these children live with full time) to garner publicity, she’s been re arrested, her partner is the subject of an ongoing enquiry into abuse and robbery and joined Only Fans in a blaze of publicity to pay off the thousands she still owes her creditors. None of this is speculation, it’s fact. She’s had help, she’s had excuses but she doesn’t change.

SantaHat · 30/01/2022 13:39

So everyone who has suffered mental health issues just gets a free ride do they? I say again, would you be so sympathetic if it is was your child, your sibling, your parent or friend she had ploughed her car into whilst drunk/drug driving and banned?

Peachandpearl · 30/01/2022 13:45

She strikes me as a deeply unhappy and conflicted individual. The battle inside her between the different parts of her personality. Maybe it's KP vs Jordan I don't know, that she's spent so long putting on different personas she doesn't really know who she is?
Like a lot of women who work in the adult entertainment/sex industry, she seems very damaged by it.
Doesn't make it ok for her to engender others, and it doesn't mean she is a good for her kids the way they are effected by her chaos and self destruction.
In some ways she seems very childlike, constantly trying to make this perfect family and home, never managing to achieve it or maintain it, stuck in a toxic relationship with the media for ever after as she had found no alternative method to meet her need for esteem (instead of finding it eternally for self esteem) and of course financially.
It's not been good for Kerry Katona , either. I don't know what the answer is, but I do sometimes wonder about the ethics of giving some people so much media time when they are obviously in a bad place and also likely to get a massive negative public backlash. None of its healthy.
I really hope KP can find some healing and peace in her life and make a home for her kids to be happy in with her more (and not prioritise awful men), it must be difficult being in her position and lonely too so I can understand her wanting to not be single, but he seems like either a leech or a sycophant (probably both) and an abuser to boot. The last thing she needs! I would love to see her have some peace and healing and then find somebody who really loves her. Why not a fairy tale ending? But this is just not the way to get it with quick fixes.

Peachandpearl · 30/01/2022 13:46

Meant to say endanger not engender. I don't think KP is engendering anyone Shock
