Late to the game I know. I’ve only watched the pilot and am not as impressed as I thought I’d be. I honestly found Jack quite annoying. I can’t get over the fact his wife tried to give birth to TRIPLETS vaginally?! When high risk? Ummm no wonder they got that outcome! How awful.

Then there’s that guy trying to push his way into Kate’s home.

And that guy (Randolph?) bringing an absolute stranger ex druggie into his home and meeting his daughters? And his wife having no issue with it??

Maybe my standards have got too high these days but it was just so woolly and unbelievable and cliched!

And I’ve been know to enjoy hallmark movies so in alright with a bit of cheese.

Does it get better?

I felt exactly the same! Couldn't get through the pilot and I've watched all of Virgin River.

mnahmnah · 23/01/2022 16:39

I gave it a go twice, a few months apart. I don’t think I got past the first series. I found it all a bit depressing

StylishMummy · 23/01/2022 16:39

It's absolutely amazing and it's gets better as it goes on. Give it 2 more episodes if you can and see if you get hooked

givememykeys · 23/01/2022 16:42

There's no objective standard of good TV, if you like it watch it, if you don't watch one of the bazillion other programes

I never understand these type of threads especially the ones about comedy programmes, we all like different things, don't you watch the things you enjoy not the stuff other people like? Confused

Sometimes you have to give things a good go and then you can really enjoy it. I’m just wondering what kind of show it is and getting some other opinions.

Ok thanks I’ll try 2 more! Hoping I get into it.

lol! I’ve watched it avidly from the beginning, so I’m massively invested now, but not sure if I’d rewatch the series (as I have with others, Downton etc) or even Strongly Recommend it!
I much prefer the triplets to Jack and Rebecca (& then I prefer subsequent characters to the triplets 😅)

Forgotthespuds · 23/01/2022 17:02

No it doesn't. I've tried a couple times

singlenamestar · 23/01/2022 17:05

I love love love the concept of the show
I love Jack
I find Rebecca annoying as hell
( but covet her hair)

WouldBeGood · 23/01/2022 17:05

It gets worse.

I liked the first couple of series but couldn’t bear the last one. So dull, and annoying characters

MarshaBradyo · 23/01/2022 17:07

I stopped watching it can’t temper which series

So syrupy and yes Rebecca v annoying

I used to like Randall and Kevin but that passed too

WouldBeGood · 23/01/2022 17:13

Beth and her man are the most annoying

WouldBeGood · 23/01/2022 17:13

Aargh! Not Beth: Kate and man

shivermetimbers77 · 23/01/2022 17:19

I enjoy it but definitely find it a bit cheesy and American for my usual tastes. I find if I just relax into the cheese I really love it .

Hoppl · 23/01/2022 17:26

I stuck with it for a while but I wasn’t that interested. The characters aren’t really that likeable. And they just seem to spend all the time analysing their relationships which doesn’t make particularly entertaining viewing

enoughofthiscrap · 23/01/2022 17:39

I love it but I have to be in the mood to watch it. It's very emotional so if your feeling down in anyway stay away from it.

I feel like if it’s that cheesy and unrealistic you kind of want it happy! Maybe it’s not for me.

I’ve loved This Is Us since I saw the first episode. It may be that it’s just not for you!

This is how I feel. I enjoy it and can relax and watch it, it’s just pleasantly cheesy.
MaddieElla · 23/01/2022 18:40

I've watched so many that the flashbacks and life lessons of Rebecca and Jack are doing my head in.

Randall gets more irritating as time goes on.

But I'm invested and I still love the concept of the show. I will watch right to the end. ❤

Hoppl · 23/01/2022 19:27

It needs to just lighten up a bit. There are not enough enjoyable watching bits

Bagelsandbrie · 23/01/2022 19:28

I found it so boring. I couldn’t get into it at all. Tried twice.

Garman · 23/01/2022 19:32

In the time it's set natural birth would have been the default for all births, my friend had triplets naturally two years ago so I don't know what your problem is with that.

Toffeepenni · 23/01/2022 19:34

Tried to get into it but it felt like it was just one long attempt of trying to make me cry.
