Which means we don’t discuss an episode till it’s been on tv

After that it’s fair game

Anyway

When a terrorist campaign threatens the capital over the summer, bomb disposal experts Lana Washington (Vicky McClure) and Joel Nutkins (Adrian Lester) are at the forefront of urgent efforts.

They discover a potiental bomb factory in a London housing estate

( whispers but is filmed near to blondesland)

Looks good

Love both Vicky and Adrian as actors

@NoisyBrain

I hope it isn't Karl. I've decided I quite fancy him Blush

Also, I'm chuckling every time I see The Handbag now.

I agree, there is definitely something That ramped up even more when he was sitting astride that motorbike. Hmmmm 🔥😜
TheSpottedZebra · 20/02/2022 22:05

@PennyRoyal

She need more expos. I think Karl will turn up to help out and maybe be a hero?
Which means (in TV land)... dying, no? Sad
WhatICallMyUsername · 20/02/2022 22:06

Was it Lana wearing dungarees? I totally missed any dungarees!

the80sweregreat · 20/02/2022 22:06

The motorbike was ace. Triumphs are cool
I hope they find John .. he can't get away with this!

I was expecting to see a funeral for Billy , maybe next week ? It feels like it's been on for a year and it's only six episodes, but not on the ITV hub
( I wish it was)

WhatICallMyUsername · 20/02/2022 22:11

Well in that case I am just leaving this here...

Me too, thanks to whoever posted about it!

Boxachocs · 20/02/2022 22:29

I think John is being set up. When he made the call that detonated the device, he held the phone to his ear as though expecting someone to answer.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/02/2022 22:29

Hmmmm maybe

Forget the dungarees what about the annoying Pebbles Flintstone hairdo?! Does anyone else find this actress a bit awkward when it comes to the romantic scenes? She just doesn’t convince at all in the non work scenes and has zero chemistry with the hot mechanic. Think I might need to step in….Grin

Travelledtheworld · 20/02/2022 22:40

Not sure why I am still watching when it's essentially the same plot line every week:-
Lana very stressed and has PTSD after huge explosion but still goes to work
Police have a conference but go round in circles
Lana either has a snog or heart to heart with one of two men.
Has a tete a tete with the woman forensic explosives expert
Huge bomb is discovered in public place.
Bomb is either disabled or blows up causing Lara to suffer more PTSD.
Repeat ad nauseum.

WingingItSince1973 · 20/02/2022 23:01

We have only just started watching it this week so binged first 4 and watched 5 tonight. Actually quite like it. Maybe Binge watching it keeps it clearer in mind and not notice how naff it is. Lovely to see Miles Jupp acting serious roles, along way away from Archie the Imventor, although I do love him as a stang up comedian. Still unsure about Karl but think Thom is still dodgy. Can't believe have to wait a week!

WingingItSince1973 · 20/02/2022 23:02

Oh and I love my dungarees 🤣 is a pain when needing the loo which is quite alot at my age! 🤣

Me too, although every time my brain reminds me he has 5 children. It’s on the higher side these days but it’s not like it’s 25 so I don’t know why I do that!

Ha ha yes he does have a few. Xx

TweeBee · 20/02/2022 23:43

I thought it was a strange episode tonight. Seemed to take ages to get started and then it was quite a rush after the bomb exploded.
I was so certain John had nothing to do with it, or was investigating someone else on the team. But I think they said that they knew it was his number that had called the bomb. I wonder if they had IDd him as the "gas engineer" too.
DH thinks the young expo lad, possibly Danny, is dodgy.
I like suggestion above that Karl will come to help. When she was saying she needs more expos, we did say that there were only 3 left in the whole of London!

SueSaid · 21/02/2022 07:39

'Oh god, they are not letting her loose again are they ?'

I know! There is not a chance they'd let her back, no matter how much she wanted to, after seeing her brother blown up. Desk duties maybe at a push.

Surely, surely someone is going to point out her expo skills are a bit poor. Have we seen her successfully diffuse anything yet?!

CharacterForming · 21/02/2022 08:45

I think she and Nut successfully defused two bombs in episode one - the toilet one and the suicide vest.

But it is completely mad that her boss carefully explained all the reasons why they couldn't possibly allow her back to work and then said "oh all right, go on then". If this was set in Tuvalu then maybe she'd be the only available EXPO and she'd have to work even if she's unfit, but there must be other competent bomb disposal officers in London, or indeed England.

SueSaid · 21/02/2022 09:31

'I think she and Nut successfully defused two bombs in episode one - the toilet one and the suicide vest.'

I thought the toilet one was a fireworks pretend decoy but yes the suicide one was successfully defused I'd forgotten about that one.

Just seems so clunky and amateurish. The main suspect stood in obvious view holding 2 mobiles, after going to all that trouble you'd think he'd have been acting more covertly and maybe even had a face cover on as a disguise, John running off in a slightly comedic way, a whole street with bombs on their boilers. Wtf was Mercurio thinking. I'm not sure why I keep watching, it's strangely compelling but for all the wrong reasons.

the80sweregreat · 21/02/2022 09:37

They are going to need a whole host of people now if John ( or whoever ) has rigged up an entire street ( whilst still working their normal job !)

TheVolturi · 21/02/2022 09:37

Agree about the annoying hairstyle! And the awkwardness. I can't warm to her in this at all.
the80sweregreat · 21/02/2022 09:43

I cringe when I see actors kissing or the bedroom scenes which have to be added into all these dramas.
It makes me feel as if we are intruding. She hadn't any chemistry with either of these two.
Maybe Tom is working with John ?
Just want to be on and over with now ! I'm actually fed up with it !! 😂

CitrusPocket · 21/02/2022 10:20

Another cliche with the therapist. “I’m fine and don’t want to talk about anything”, then one question and they open up.
