Do you know what I really hated about this year and last year?

No celebration when people got voted off the show OR more importantly won.

FFS you have the most interesting 2 couples in the final yet they couldn't celebrate that fact with each other.

There is great skill involved in putting a brake on your ability - and if you can't do it, then you shouldn't be in a teaching role on Strictly.

It's like Les Dawson's piano playing - when you are very good indeed, it's more difficult to play badly than to just "release the hounds" of your ability and play well.

I think he made John look extremely good, to the best of his ability, which obviously won't be to the level of a professional who's been dancing for 20 years, incredible though it was!

Really delighted for Rose and Gio! Roses's achievement is immense!

I was eating and started to post as they were announcing the winner but before they announced it and I got really confused because you were all "Yay!" and "Go Rose!" etc and I wondered how on earth you knew before they'd said who won. Then I remembered that the reception on my telly had gone a bit odd so I'd gone on to iPlayer to watch it and was about a minute behind. I am delighted for Rose and even more so for Gio who has been robbed in the past.

I loved a bit of The Human League at the end. That song's been in my head a lot because of the John Lewis advert.

I think I will actually watch on Christmas day because I like the line-up this year but I'll probably be at a friend's unless one of us comes down with the dreaded lurgy so I won't be able to share it with all of you very lovely people. Thanks so much for this year, my first time with all of you. You're a lovely bunch, almost as nice as me and a pleasure to spend time with. Happy Christmas, new year, all of the coming holidays, stay safe, stay warm and be your good selves all over the place.

Jive, Charleston and their show dance. It would have been very special, I think.

Much preferred J&J's show dance, and really they just had a better selection of dances overall than Rose.

Both he and Rose did so much for their respective ‘causes’

But, in the end, being able to dance like that when you can’t hear the music like everyone else can, is just mind blowing

AJ having to drop out was a real shame, but she would only ever have been 3rd anyway

AJ had jive, charleston and Running - as a fast, jam-packed freestyle.
Okay, am off. It will be interesting to see Gio with his first real duffer next year

It was illegal to be a gay man until 1998 in south africa, it was not illegal to be a black woman.

I wonder if this is more an issue with same sex couples. Don’t shoot me down. But we’re so used to knowing who is leading and how follows, that with same sex they’re mixing it up all the time, they’re not the same definition in the roles I feel. Felt same with Nicola last year. It just gets a bit confusing with them both doing essentially same steps at times where pro will clearly outshine
