Just as well, as they seem to have lost all of the ones under 9...

Thank you @BoreOfWhabylon ☺️

@Seemslikeagoodidea

The judges had to put J and J through - the uproar from the LGBT community would have been massive if they had not put them through to the final. The BBC had to be seen to do the "right" thing. I think there should be a separate dancing contest for same sex couples, it would be fairer all around really.
Ah I think you took a wrong turn, the Daily Mail comments section is that way ———>
SheldonesqueTheBstard · 12/12/2021 22:19

It was obvious that JJ would go through. They are indeed more popular if the odds are owt to go by.

And that is grand.

Except it is supposed to be on the dance off and for me, Rhys was better.

And that is why I want to channel my inner Nan.

It is supposed to be fair. It doesn’t feel like that.

Rhys was blossoming. And I think he was robbed.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 12/12/2021 22:21

Sorry the first bit was a semi quote and I bodged. Texting on the hoof with a dog and a scowl 😡

Seemslikeagoodidea · 12/12/2021 22:28

@Vapeyvapevape

‘Fairer all round’ how ?
Well, on average men weigh more than women, so having two men dance together must be very challenging when doing lifts. Also, as the majority of the population is heterosexual, there might be a bias towards voting for mixed sex couples, which could put the same sex couple at a disadvantage when it comes to votes.
Immaculatemisconception · 12/12/2021 22:34

Picking John and Johannes was the woke card, imho. Rhys is a better dancer.

Seemslikeagoodidea · 12/12/2021 22:35

@SoupDragon

Ah, the conspiracy theorists have arrived!
It's not a question of being a conspiracy theorist, it's just an observation from watching the changes that have taken place in the BBC over the last few years. The BBC seems to have a policy of positive discrimination.
SoupDragon · 12/12/2021 22:47

It really is 😂

Except it clearly didn't as John and Johannes hadn't been in a dance off.

WhereAreWeNow · 12/12/2021 22:50

I think Rhys's dance was better. Still, it's a good line up for the final. I hope Rose or AJ wins.

SoupDragon · 12/12/2021 22:57

I don't know enough to be able to say whose dance was better. I think both had issues though and both threw themselves into it. Both seemed a bit awkward and off time on occasions.

Runningupthecurtains · 12/12/2021 22:57

If the BBC were that desperate for Strictly to push same sex pairing they would have found a way the bend the rules last year and let Nicola return after Katja's covid - as it was the first covid absence they could have cited new rules but chose not to.
I wasn't bothered which of J&J or R&N went through so I have no skin in the game but there was an obvious error in R&Ns dance off and although it appeared to be Nancy having a bit of a wardrobe malfunction the judges have never let costume problems or the Pro being the one at fault slide before. Aside from whatever happened I think they went out of time just before that too. Rhys rode his luck at times and there were weeks when he could easily have been the one to go with no complaints. Any decision would have left some people feeling that someone had unfairly sent home.

Seemslikeagoodidea · 12/12/2021 22:57

@SoupDragon You're mistaken. Rhys was robbed, and the reason why is obvious.

Fenelladepompom · 12/12/2021 23:08

Only to you I think.

iklboodolphrednosedpaindear · 13/12/2021 00:25

Oh give it a bloody rest.

I think he was robbed too.

HaileyBailey · 13/12/2021 01:46

I agree Rhys was robbed

BasiliskStare · 13/12/2021 02:40

I'm a bit team Rose I do think Aj can dance & oh my goodness what a good looking girl in a frock but I did hear she has been taking lots lots and lots of dancing lessons as she always wanted to be on the programme ( may not be true)

The one thing I thing AJ could do for all of us ( and I think someone has said this before ( in a patronising mum way - Aj shall we use our indoor voice ) She makes my ears hurt.

MoveHouse · 13/12/2021 03:23

Ooh I have a different opinion on J&J/R&N dance off. On that dance alone J&J were stronger.

R was out of time and his movement from each ‘section’ he’d learnt was awful, it didn’t flow.

I felt that J danced that as though he was going out and so he relaxed and finally looked like he was enjoying it.

I say it to my DH all the time, see it live from the studio itself, must be so different to what we see on tv. The judges will be looking at the detail. And they all referred to it being very close so I don’t link any decision making to J&J being a same sex couple at all.

SequinsandStiIettos · 13/12/2021 03:29

It's just a shame that Robert had to withdraw, same as Will Bayley or we'd have had a top four.

That’s it in a nutshell.

Simonjt · 13/12/2021 06:10

@Seemslikeagoodidea So only straight people vote for the straight couples, and only gay people vote for the gay contestant? Right…..

Omg yes to the indoor voice.

No I'm not.

The only thing that's obvious is that you love a conspiracy.
