Just as well, as they seem to have lost all of the ones under 9...

@cheeseisthebest

Has Rose done a jive, Charlestone or Salsa? I don't remember seeing her do any of those?
She did a jive week 1 and salsa week 2. But didn't do a charleston.
Thecurliestwurly · 12/12/2021 20:58

I think Kai has made quite an impact this year, but in terms of pro's winning I hope it's Gio.

Faevern · 12/12/2021 21:01

I think John is good but Johannes out dances most people and because they do so much mirroring it’s more obvious. I fear that Johannes will be so excited about being in the final he might go into overdrive and go spinning off like a whirling dervish.

iklboodolphrednosedpaindear · 12/12/2021 21:05

Oh lords, no. Not Wet Handjob or Cumquat, please. Maybe a Miliband at a push?

CaveMum · 12/12/2021 21:07

Thanks for new thread.

If anyone fancies a laugh I’d recommend listening to the latest Parenting Hell podcast with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe interviewing Ugo Monye. They talk a bit about his time on Strictly (he takes the piss and admits that he only did it because his daughter loves the show). He talks about doing Movie Week having told the producers that Moana was his daughters favourite film. They had to get her to pretend to be excited as she’s since decided it was no longer her favourite 🤣🤣🤣

Very interesting chap though. Went to private secondary school on a scholarship open to single parent families.

CaveMum · 12/12/2021 21:08

Oh and if you enjoy the podcast, the interview with Dara O’Brian is also a laugh when he talks about using Strictly as a threat to keep his kids in line!

cheeseisthebest · 12/12/2021 21:21

Thank you! I didn't remember that, would love to see her do a Charleston.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 12/12/2021 21:25

ApolloandDaphne

I said from the outset it would be Rose, AJ and John in the final! I love them all.

As did quite a few of us, but would have been a more interesting final if Rhys had gone through instead of John.

This podcast is brilliant isn’t, the Dara strictly episode where he talks about having an affair with a young Russian dancer then bringing her in to his kids’ school is excellent
CaveMum · 12/12/2021 21:39

@ShirleyPhallus oh yes that bit’s great - “Meet your new mum!”

Cleebope2 · 12/12/2021 21:46

Did they explain why Mabel didn’t perform as billed or did I miss that?

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 12/12/2021 21:47

Oh lords, no. Not Wet Handjob or Cumquat, please.

And here was me ready to do a comment re twiceshitelysurely and something akin to why the Joan Collins Fan Club went all Coventry for a bit.

Best not.

Read the b’stard posts properly Shelly…

SmellyOldOwls · 12/12/2021 21:50

@Thecurliestwurly

If we're really unlucky we'll get Hancock and Cummings...imagine all the dancers trying to make themselves the wrong height!

Hancock for the Rumba, Cummings will be dressed up as some kind of evil zombie professor doing a mincey samba in Halloween week. Allegra Stratton might show up if she is still out of work next Autumn.

I know it's a MN cliche but I literally spat out my tropical Smirnoff ice tea at this Xmas Grin

That's brilliant, flipping typical to learn a whole dance to your child's favourite movie and they're like "nah don't like it anymore"
GoodPrincessWenceslas · 12/12/2021 21:54

I thought John's dancing second time around was a bit wild, especially his arms. Rhys wuz robbed.

Vapeyvapevape · 12/12/2021 21:59

Just caught up- John didn’t look well and I thought he made a few mistakes, his heart didn’t seem in it to me.

ilovesooty · 12/12/2021 21:59

@Alcemeg

Well how weird, I could have sworn Rhys danced better than John. Feel sad for him as I think he was just beginning to tap into the potential that was evident from the very start!
That's how I felt too.
Seemslikeagoodidea · 12/12/2021 22:00

The judges had to put J and J through - the uproar from the LGBT community would have been massive if they had not put them through to the final. The BBC had to be seen to do the "right" thing. I think there should be a separate dancing contest for same sex couples, it would be fairer all around really.

SoupDragon · 12/12/2021 22:03

Ah, the conspiracy theorists have arrived!

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/12/2021 22:08

@iklboodolphrednosedpaindear I read your blog every week and thoroughly enjoy it. Thank you Flowers

GrouchyKiwi · 12/12/2021 22:08

Not sure eyes can roll enough for that.

JacquelineCarlyle · 12/12/2021 22:09

I think that Rhys was better in the dance off but don't mind that John has gone through. Rose for the win with AJ second (but don't think they announce 2nd anymore, do they?)

Vapeyvapevape · 12/12/2021 22:09

‘Fairer all round’ how ?

Phineyj · 12/12/2021 22:10

Surely it was obvious J+J would go through just looking at the bookies' odds last week? Rhys' fans are the wrong demographic and John has more public support.

I enjoy watching all the couples but found it hard to relax watching two people as intense as Rhys and Nancy, whereas all the others look like they're having a blast.
