Sorry it's Xmas day next Saturday. What I mean is maybe record the final on Thursday and show that on Xmas day instead.

Gutted for AJ and Kai. They were my favourites 😥 Not sure how they will do the final with just two. There will be so much filler crap I don't think I can bear to watch. They should definitely reinstate Rhys somehow. I know there's not much time but I think the final will fall flat.

I’m so disappointed for her, she’s worked so hard. I can’t see how they are going to make a good final show now though.

I can’t remember who said it but someone did comment on one of these threads how hard she was working with lots of high intensity moves.

I think that poster may be correct, possibly Kai has been a bit ambitious if the injury has been an accumulative effect.

@SchadenfreudePersonified - I can see that Tess is very easy on the eye , but DH did say to me - how lucky is she for reading out the same words every week from a prompt and get paid for it. I think ( personally) Tess is a "if isn't broken - don't fix it kind of person " On the other hand I do think Claudia can interact - so not everything she says is a prompt. But hey ho - it's only TV Grin I have nothing against Tess personally - she fills the time and does what is required. It would be interesting to see who else could do a better job - but I suspect the judges are meant to be centre stage and so do they want two interesting and funny presenters ?

Gutted AJ has withdrawn Sad Rose is my favourite but I wanted to see them all in the final!

So sad for her and Kai but looking at the diary it's only 6 weeks until opening night of live tour so I guess she will want to be fit for that too.

I can't imagine how much filling the producers will be doing to fill a 2 hour show if only 9 minutes will be the 2 remaining couples dancing!

Sad that AJ has had to pull out but not surprising. The final is going to seem very flat now.

Really this is why when Robert Webb pulled out there should have been a week without an elimination.

Yes, I think they've had 4 in the final before haven't they? 4 would be better than 2. And given we're in a pandemic it was always highly likely we might lose someone due to Covid let alone injury.

I read that and thought there has been a strictly death…

It is a huge blow for AJ and Kai - no denying that and I’m sure they are really upset that they will not have their final moment of glory.

The withdrawal is sensible and all being well, they will dance again.

It would be nice if, next season, the opening show would start with what should have been their show dance. I’m sure the pro dancers would encourage that.

I know, I’m sure they’re scouring their little black book for which C lister they can bring out to do a turn on the mic while Neil and dianne do a jazzy street dance routine complete with gurning.

Paul McCartney usually gets wheeled out to stuff like this so I’m gonna go with him.

They’ll have to have bigger gaps between them dancing otherwise the other 2 will be exhausted

Oh, I am so, so gutted fro AJ (and for us that we don’t get to see her and Kai dance again, I was really looking forward to seeing their jive again. Show dances I generally can take or leave…).

And given she will obviously be looking for presenting roles she’ll have to put a brave face on, and do all the interviews and cheer on the others at the final, as she’ll want to show she can totally take one for the team and still be professional. Poor thing, I bet it will be a hard few days.

They often invite past contestants back for the Christmas special, so I would think she’d be an obvious choice for that. Fingers crossed!
