Rose definitely for us - she makes it look easy but I have no doubt it is extremely hard work for her to make it look this easy. I find her so insprirational - not just because of her deafness and the achievement to dance (although this is part of it) but just that she is just such a positive and funny human being (check out her reels on Instagram and TikTok). She is genuinely funny. I love her ans think she will win.

@SmellyOldOwls I’m watching on catch up and I think Giovanni truly loves Rose but she’s having none of it ! They make a lovely couple.

Voted for AJ ,Rose and Rhys…love J and J but they haven’t got any better since week 4 or 5 .

I genuinely forget that Rose is deaf when she dances which is how it should be (I assume anyway - those with experience of the deaf community, please correct me if I'm wrong ).

Such amazing quality this year - whilst I have a soft spot for AJ being a local girl and I also would love Gio to win as it is long deserved, I would be happy for any of them at this point.

Why is “forgetting she’s deaf” the way it is supposed to be.

She is a fantastic dancer. She is also deaf. Why is it a positive to forget a massive part of her identity?

I don't know - that is why I said I wasn't sure and happy to be corrected. But, the fact is that I don't register it now - she started the series as Rose, the deaf contestant but now she is Rose, the amazing dancer.

I am aware I am probably putting my foot in it more so I am going to bow out now.

She has been clear that she is doing Strictly for the deaf community. I doubt she is doing it to try and pass as hearing.

I am not Rose so I can’t speak for her but I know many, many Deaf people would be very offended but what you’ve said there.

My sister is deaf and would not remotely be offended by what Claymorekick said.

I think it's probably because at the start there was a lot of focus about how she learns steps without hearing the music. The judges at the start really kept their feedback to a minimum, you could see they just didn't know how to talk to Rose, maybe as she was looking at her interrupter? I don't know. But as time as gone on there has been less focus on the show about Roses hearing IMO, and the judges have relaxed and thankfully are talking to rose in the same way they talk to others.

So as much as I have not forgotten that she is deaf I don't blame you for it going off your radar with Rose. Yes it's a huge part of her identity but there's a lot more to Rose as well such as her humour and positivity.

Claymore I get you. You're not watching thinking 'oh she's quite good - for a deaf person.' And that is how it should be - people who don't fit the expected norm shouldn't be 'othered' but should be expected to compete at a high standard too.

No I know what you mean. You just watch and admire the dance. I doubt she would be offended at all.

Anyone else getting slightly annoyed about J & J banging on about what they'd achieved for the gay community and implying that their dancing as a same sex couple on Strictly was a first?

There are an awful lot of people who can hear the music who aren't as nice dancers as Rose!

Yes @GoodPrincessWenceslas and crying about it every week. I don't care who anyone has sex with, I just want to watch people learn to dance 🤷🏻‍♀️

When I'm in charge of Strictly, there will be a rule that anyone who turns up to dance in bare feet instantly gets deducted 10 points. And Contempowaft will be banned.
