New thread.

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit
I would not mind that but given the the dance off seems to be here to stay as does stretching the results shows so it's long enough to count for ratings listings I do get that it would be too late for the younger end of the audience if it went out on Saturday night.
Never having been to a recording I've always kind of assumed that the not live nature of the results show gave those that were in the dance off a potential for a few extra minutes to get over the disappointment and get ready to go again but those that have been to the filming will know whether it's filmed "as live" or just edited to appear that way (we know the pro numbers and the Gimmer pop stars with a single to flog are prerecorded) but I no idea if the red light to dance off is done in real time or not.

@Gooseysgirl

I've just watched Tilly's dance again... and I'm still baffled at the scoring. My kids could have done that dance.
Just joined this thread as just watching in catch up.... totally baffled as to Tillys 40! For me the most over scored dance of all of them! Not a dancer at all, but did nothing for me and I have enjoyed most of Tillys dances.
ilovebrie8 · 21/11/2021 16:07

People have opinions and this thread is for discussion and opinion....Tilly was stompy last night I didn’t enjoy it one bit, coops bri Kroger the judges scores but hey ho. I’m not a Dan fan I think he’s bland and dull but last night what his best effort so far for me. Tom seems lkwl gong through the motions and not fussed on him and hope he exits ....none of the dances were souper douper this week...all a bit lacklustre even Rose’s one ...

ilovebrie8 · 21/11/2021 16:08

Couldn’t make sense of judges scores I meant ...

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 21/11/2021 16:20

Felt sorry for Rhys when Tess mentioned his mistakes before handing over to the judges. Really want J&J to go through to next week hopefully to contempowaft or AT.

merryhouse · 21/11/2021 16:22

I liked AJ's dance but I wish people wouldn't talk about Edelweiss as a "falling in love" song. It's a bittersweet expression of love for homeland, in the light of the Nazi invasion (even when it first appears in the film the political situation is unstable - and obviously the audience knows).

J&J's best dance is the rumba. Trailed by the PoCso.

Rose has always looked scarily thin. I think she's just that body type.

Rhys's mistake was the least of my issues with his dance, to be honest.

I didn't like Tilly's dance, but I thought she did it well. I knew what Shirley meant - the pair of them had identical movements and shaping and there was none of the reassurance-seeking glancing you sometimes get.

Agree whole-heartedly with the pp who said Tom & Amy's number was a song for the woman with an extra person awkwardly shoehorned in for no reason.

I know it's not a popular opinion - and all the celebs looooooove musicals, as do I - but I don't think Musicals Week is a good idea for a ballroom dancing show. The only ones that really work are Charleston, American Smooth with the classics, and the odd (very odd) Couple's Choice [spit].

EvilRingahBitch · 21/11/2021 16:31

I agree about Edelweiss, the lyrics make it clear that it's nothing to do with Maria: it's about Von Trapp's anti-Nazi patriotism.

Also got cross when whoever it was said that Rose and Gio's dance had a romantic happy ending when she accepted his proposal. No, it really doesn't.

EvilRingahBitch · 21/11/2021 16:33

Very odd for Tess to pick up on Rhys's mistake. I know it was screamingly obvious, but her role is always to be blindly positive. I can't remember her ever spontaneously mentioning an error before except when Chelsee's dress came unhitched and she said "don't worry love, we didn't see anything".

Yeah, she mentioned it more than once. ..what was that all about?!

I half expected her to say "the lines are open now, but you probably won't want to vote for Rhys after his massive mistake" 🤔

ilovebrie8 · 21/11/2021 16:43

Agree that was mean of Tess she mentioned it a couple of times Rhys mistake ...no need!! I find her wooden and fake ...just my opinion...they should give someone new a chance...

GertrudeBElion · 21/11/2021 16:45

I think the use of Edelweiss was a nod to the fact that Kai played one of the middle Von Trapp children (Rolf) in the 1965 original The Sound Of Music

AvengingGerbil · 21/11/2021 16:46

Am I the only person here who loathes musicals (not musicals week, musicals) with a deep and unending passion?

😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
SoupDragon · 21/11/2021 16:51

I don't mind Tess. She's only there to facilitate things in between the dance and speaking to the judges and I don't think it needs more than she gives really. Claudia has the main job IMO, even though it started out as the "supporting role."

He's 26 isn't he? Cor, I'm definitely missing something here, aren't I ( been a frazzling day and I don't mean the bacon flavoured crisps) so not getting it!

Figgygal · 21/11/2021 16:59

I have nothing against Tilly what I object to is massive over scoring just because someone can carry off a cartwheel mid stomping and gurning. Her dance was basic and the singing was awful

i’d say I hope she’s in the bottom two this week however that would mean having to sit through it again

I don’t think I’ll even bother watching it tonight I’m still so cross

I think it's a joke because he looks older than 26?

Its really disheartening to come onto this thread after watching the show this morning (I work Saturdays so can't watch live) and see so much bashing of Tilly.

There's no 'bashing'. We're allowed to say we don't like a particular dance / style. I didn't like Tilly's dance this week & it didn't deserve 40. Nothing against her as a person. They just don't need to remind us who her dad is every week. I know and I don't care.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/11/2021 17:07

Haven't seen any Tilly bashing at all. I quite like her although get bored of all the name dropping/shots of her dad. But that dance was shite.

iklboo · 21/11/2021 17:07

Ahhhhh. Gotcha. Yes. The love child of Luke Evans & Jason Manford, stepped through a rip in the time space continuum from about 1940.
