Sorry boogie, I misunderstood and thought you were saying it was prerecorded!

[quote bonfireheart]Usual hyperbole from this newspaper but you get the gist

Thanks bonfire

Very little on Rhys' family.

It was my fault Chessie as I haven't had my coffee yetBlushSmile

@Claymorekick

Oh and I know Shirley mentioned it but none of the others did but Rhys seemed out of time for most of his dance - their feet were not in time to the beat or was that just me?
I thought that too and his flicks weren't from the knee and his toes weren't pointed. I love Rhys and I love the jive but I didn't love that performance.
Orgasmagorical · 21/11/2021 10:58

I thought Rhys looked like he was struggling as the camera panned to him when he was sitting at the side after his dance. I hope he's ok.

bonfireheart · 21/11/2021 11:01

Rhys is another one like John who needs to change the tone of his dance for thr next one. Although tbf it's not the celebs fault if this is what the professional and producers keep picking out for them.
Rhys already skinny, seems to have lost so much weight too.

Alcemeg · 21/11/2021 11:02

Poor Rhys, if and when he does drop out I'm not sure how he will handle it.

bonfireheart · 21/11/2021 11:04

Rhys would have benefited from a pro who has been on show longer like Karen. I know Kai is new but he's done the Irish version. I think the pros need a couple of seasons under their belt before they bring out best in a celeb.

I thought exactly the same. He looked exhausted.
bonfireheart · 21/11/2021 11:07

He said several times that this was the hardest dance and it's been a difficult week.

boogiewithasuitcase · 21/11/2021 11:09

Thanks again bonfire for that article. I had no idea that the judges watched each dance twice. It still doesn't explain (for me) why Tilly got 40s and AJ's beautiful waltz didn't.

Perhaps the judges loved to see a high risk being taken with an especially energetic and stompy musical theatre piece, I don't know.

I like Rhys and hope he is ok.

billysboy · 21/11/2021 11:17

Poor old Tilly its not her fault who her old man is and any Dad will want to see her do well

Dan did better than his marking suggested

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 21/11/2021 11:19

Morning All,
I was working last night so missed live show, just caught up with it now. Rtft and was prepared to be disappointed, but there wasn’t a dance I didn’t enjoy... too late for predictions, but I would’ve voted AJ, Rose and John. I agree that John has plateaued, but still hoping he’ll somehow break out a bit and be brilliant instead of staying as good as he was at the start.

Tilly was overmarked, and although she did well with what she was given, there was no mistaking who was the professional... not sure what Shirl was thinking. That said, she’s grown on me week on week, even if I find the frequent references to family a bit annoying (never liked Gordon, which doesn’t help). Think there’s more of it with Tilly than there is with Tom tbf... not a fan of Tom either, but don’t see smugness in the Fletchers or the Ramsays; just functional families, and if, as a pp said, the Ramsay kids have direction and aren’t just second generation showbiz kids... what’s not to like about that?

My other impressions were:
Motsi’s hair needed its own show.
Tess pointed out Rhy’s mistake the minute he came off the floor- since when was it Tess’s job to comment, has she done this before and I just haven’t noticed?
Russell Crowe seems to be modelling himself on the late Oliver Reed and may as well have said “I’m too good for this shit” he really is a smug old git~

Loved the opening number and Shirley’s outfit, ditto Claudia’s (that’s a first!)

SoupDragon · 21/11/2021 11:22

I didn't like AJ's waltz. It seemed very pedestrian to me. I wanted to love it given the theming but it didn't do it for me. She's had far lovelier dances IMO.

This is partly where the viewers' vote falls down as it's mostly based on "the feelz" and popularity rather than actually skill. Understandably so of course!

Rhys's jive seems very, very fast to my untrained eye. I'm not surprised he was knackered after a week of that!

Blahblahblow · 21/11/2021 11:22

Love Tilly - she’s so young, talented and I love her energy. Best dance of the night for me. I agreed with the 40.

Hope she wins, as she’s been on the biggest journey!

That you Gorden?

Claymorekick · 21/11/2021 11:27

Been thinking about it and I much preferred Tilly's halloween cha cha cha in terms of quality/character etc and that didn't get 40 Hmm

Reading on another forum and suddenly realised it is probably true - a good pro will deliberately dance down so they are a similar level to their celebs so as not to highlight the differences so if Shirley couldn't tell the difference between Tilly and Nikita, then Nikita was actually doing a good job but it came across as plain insulting Confused

Final thought - if, as expected, we are heading towards a Rose and AJ finale, the conversations in Gio and Kai's house will be interesting Grin

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 21/11/2021 11:30

I’m probably being a miserable auld trout but what the actual jeff is going on with the frocks?

Most of the look as though they could be in a public service film warning you not to stand near the bars of the fire.

SoupDragon · 21/11/2021 11:30

That you Gorden?

Rude.

Blahblahblow · 21/11/2021 11:37

Ah Tilly is fab. Primary age kids in my house and they love her. She’s such a good role model as she works so hard and is true to herself. I can see why Gordon is so proud of her.

lollipoprainbow · 21/11/2021 11:38

Yes I've never noticed Tess comment on a mistake before!! Why did she feel the need to I wonder. Poor Rhys I think he is worked to his absolute limit and I imagine Nancy is a very hard task master !

As for Tilly's 'journey' what a load of tosh !!

Cuck00soup · 21/11/2021 11:44

Tilly may well be full of positivity and energy and I'm sure she is fun to be around. This is supposed to be a dance competition though and that was not the best dance of the night.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 21/11/2021 11:48

I agree claymore

The role of the pro is to make the celeb shine.

By all means shimmy round them like a whirling dervish if they are incapable of more than a squaddie two step but make them shine.

For example, John can really dance. But t’other week when Johannes shook what his mamma gave him in those yellow breeks, he made John seem lumpen . And he ain’t that at all.

Maireas · 21/11/2021 11:48

I remember those ads, Sheldon. Some unfortunate girl in a nylon nightdress, brushing her hair in front of the fire, going up like a Roman Candle. I believe the advice was to wrap her in a rug and beat her. A fantasy I had about both my sisters, growing up. I'm still laughing at your Gru comments!
