I don't know why people on here dislike Nancy, either! She's just driven and determined, surely?

derxa · 14/11/2021 20:18

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit

May All Dan Voters Suffer Phone And Internet outage next week
👍
PamDenick · 14/11/2021 20:19

Aaah! Good ol' Sara. I wasn't really aware of her before but now I'm all over her website ... love a bit of crafting. Reckon she
s 'won' in other ways...

Romeiswheretheheartis · 14/11/2021 20:19

That's your take on itShirley- I disagree. Not saying this of you, but a lot of women are vitriolic about other women, especially if they're attractive like Tess. She also gets knocked for her accent, including people saying it's fake. She can't win with some folk.

Being critical of a woman isn't 'being vitriolic about women', especially attractive ones. I think Tess is a dreadful presenter - wooden, patronising, fake. However, I love Zoe Ball and Davina, I think they're warm, natural, quick witted, and yes, attractive. Just as some men are terrible at what they do and some are great, so it can be for women too.....Hmm

EsmaCannonball · 14/11/2021 20:20

I love Aljaz and really hope this isn't his last Strictly. I know he's got a small role in Netflix's version of Matilda but I can't help but wonder if his (beautiful) accent will make him like one of those European actors whose careers were scuppered by the advent of talking pictures.

When I saw the spoiler I was prepared to be outraged but I actually think that Tilly upped her performance in the dance-off.

The opening routine was reminiscent of the days when the pro dances didn't feel the need to shove every pro on the dancefloor and make everything a confusing, headachey mess. Much better.

I know it was James Blunt but I appreciate anyone on this show who isn't promoting some dire new single.

Samcro · 14/11/2021 20:20

Felt sorry for TIlly being in the dance off, can't be nice to know your not getting the votes.
I agree that her dad might be messing it up for her as the camera keeps going to him, could be just to remind us who she is though.
Amy was way over the top, can't remember who she was dancing with 😝😀

PamDenick · 14/11/2021 20:23

Tilly comes across as really sweet and polite... Mabce shes not getting the votes as she's so young and its harder for a young woman to pull off some of the sexier dances such as tango...

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 14/11/2021 20:27

When most are all over eachother like in the clauditorium, I did allow myself a tiny chuckle when Nance slowly and deliberately removed Rhys’s hand from her face.

iklboo · 14/11/2021 20:27

Here's my take on this week folks.

STRICTLY BLOG.

EsmaCannonball · 14/11/2021 20:28

I was hoping for Kai all cowboy-ed up à la Hugh Jackman in Oklahoma! but Captain von Trapp will do.

(Why have they never done Oklahoma!? A VW to Oh What a Beautiful Morning would be great.)

I loved Maisie, but for some reason she wasn't popular.
StucklnAMuumuuCantGetOutOflt · 14/11/2021 20:30

Very brave to leave a steady job to do musical theatre imo, especially post- Covid. I'd stick with Strictly, do my own little tour or one small bout of theatre cameo in between series.
Did John Sergeant really bow out gracefully or was it not because he allegedly had a paid gig coming up and didn't expect to last so long?
Neither Brendan nor Arlene nor James were impressed with his decision - Brendan said: "John Sergeant , for me, was a bit of an idiot on the show. He didn't try very hard, he took the mickey out of it and then he left halfway through for no reason."
He also dismissed the suggestion that Sergeant withdrew from the programme because he did not want to stop better dancers winning. "Rubbish. [It was] planned to the end," he added.
Arlene said he fooled around, reading the Guardian instead of training and James said he was selfish for pulling out when people had voted for him, imploring viewers to vote for the dancing (Cherie Lunghi got knocked out earlier than she should have).

WhereAreWeNow · 14/11/2021 20:32

Sara was the right person to leave IMO. Actually Dan should have gone.

StucklnAMuumuuCantGetOutOflt · 14/11/2021 20:36

Don't wish internet going down on me this week, guys! I had that last week. I gave Dan my third vote as I like a simple, classy AS and appreciated Nadiya choreoing one without pandering to King of the road theming/truckstop/massive Strictly van (recycled from Daisy's hippy salsa)/road signs...all of which could have been inflicted on us!

Samcro · 14/11/2021 20:36

She does seem lovely. I can only assume she isnt getting the votes because people like me don't know her. i was the same with the one from Brighton. Sorry can't remember her name, I doubt the people who follow them, watch strictly
ChoccyJules · 14/11/2021 20:41

We watched that very grumbly that the Dan voters have saved him again. I suppose as he’s a presenter he’s got to have self-confidence but he grates on me.
It did sound as though Aljaz was saying goodbye to the show and he doesn’t usually get quite so emotional does he? Maybe if Janette is staying on ITT he can afford to have a less steady income.

Fenelladepompom · 14/11/2021 20:41

FGS. John Sergeant didn't "bow out gracefully" or even "gratefully". He was contracted to lecture on a cruise ship and never dreamed he'd get as far as he did in Strictly, causing a time table clash. He never would have won, and neither will Dan.

covetingthepreciousthings · 14/11/2021 20:42

I've just caught up, I think it definitely sounded like it was Aljaz saying goodbye with that little bit about how he'll miss everything about the show. Sad

mydogisthebest · 14/11/2021 20:44

@GreenLunchBox

Oh I loved Motsi’s dress last night. She looked fab u Lou's

I thought so too, but there were lots of haters on here last night. People always have lots to say about Motsi

I think Motsi wears the most awful clothes and last night's was one of the worst.

My DH reckons wardrobe have bets on how ridiculous they can make her look

MareofBeasttown · 14/11/2021 20:45

Oh if Aljaz is leaving, I wish he could have got into the final:( He hasn't been there for a quite a while.

GrouchyKiwi · 14/11/2021 20:47

I like Tilly, I think she's doing really well, and I'm surprised how good her performance is given she has no background in it.

I also liked Maisie, and Saffron. But I tend not to like the younger men. I wonder what that's all about. Grin

Samcro · 14/11/2021 20:54

Saffron, thank you, could not think of her name.

GreenLunchBox · 14/11/2021 20:54

@mydogisthebest
You guys are entitled to your opinion. Would love to see a photo of you so we can critique

MareofBeasttown · 14/11/2021 20:58

@GreenLunchBox That's a really strange response! I also hated Claudia's dress yesterday. Surely part of the fun of Strictly is criticising the wardrobes.

Platax · 14/11/2021 21:01

@Wolfcub

Dan needs to bow out gratefully like John whatsit did
I don't think there's ever any need for someone to bow out for any reason other than health.. Sooner or later with every populist contestant who can't dance the public gets tired of them and stops voting - witness the fact that people like Widdecombe and Biggins never got near the final though they lasted much longer than they should have done.
