The insurance for Chantelle would have paid his mortgage surely ? She was so young when she died and most people take out life insurance if you have a mortgage don't they ?

The mortgage might have been in Grey's name alone. Didn't he surprise her with the house?

Jack Dee…the two of them should set themselves up as a comedy duo

They’ve never paired her up with anyone remotely suitable, she’s the unluckiest woman in the square. Her men are either murderers (Lucas, that maniac doctor she went out with who tried to kill Masood’s wife?) or they are murdered (Kevin, Kush) or twats (Ian!). I can’t even dwell on the horror that was her ONS with Phil.

Jack’s probably the best of a bad bunch but he is so dull and they have absolutely zero chemistry. I think she would have worked well with Masood.

I mean I know it's eastenders buuuut surely Jack might have thought twice about getting married in the Christmas holidays after his previous wedding ended with his wife (and her sister) dead in a swimming pool on New Years 2017

Gray might not have insured Chantelle , which given his murdering tendencies ( and getting away with it ) meant he missed a trick there to clear the mortgage ! ..

I remember Kathy Beale coming back from the dead pretty skint from SA on the run from nasty Gavin , yet now she has 20 k to give away to her grandson on some dodgy veggie burger deal! Where would that money have come from ? Rocky said retirement money ? How though ? Lol 😂
They never claim benefits or seem to do a days work between them most of the time now Mick is also claiming he is skint too!

To be fair the business should be making money after covid. The restaurant the chippy the cafe the veg stall. Must be making some income. There is no rent or mortgage to pay so all adults living there have that to save as well.

Ben gave Kathy that "it's only costume jewellery but it's lovely " necklace from the heist but she spent that on the Prince Albert didn't she?

Why is Rocky and Dotty scamming Peter when it's Sonia they were targeting originally ? A business man wouldn't hand over 20 k without seeing the produce first ? ( my business knowledge is very scant , but I couldn't see Alan Sugar doing this lol or any restaurant owner worth his salt !)

I agree that Jack deciding to marry Denise fox close to the anniversary of his late wife and her sister , is a bit odd : I know everyone has forgotten about them completely and it's going to be on Xmas day and not at New Year's , but even so ..
The venue on Chelsea's screen looked very similar to the hotel where Ronnie met her watery death too !
I do believe that you can't get married on Christmas Day by law ( my late auntie did , but that was in 1930 or something and the buses and trains run on that day too!)
I'm probably wrong , but Dee's ' cos of covid ' excuse seems a shoe in to make it another wedding dis as ter at Christmas time , no doubt ( as Craig revel horwood would say )
I'm also shocked that Gray hadn't tried to ' control ' the wild Chelsea yet , maybe his just binding his time and has enough on his plate with Whitney on to him and the job situation etc!

I've had to look it up , but although it's really rare , there isn't any actual law to stop you getting married on Christmas Day itself ; I'm not sure why I thought there was one ? ? Maybe the churches just don't allow it as it's their busiest time ?
Anyway, if the venue is open and willing to marry someone it seems it can be done.
I remember that Max Branning nearly re married Tanya one Christmas Day on the square ( an outside venue ) until his ' secret ' wife turned up ( her name escapes me )
