@FuzzyPuffling

Definitely fine to like him more as a person. Its ok to randomly take against a contestant - Marian Keyes always talks about it, this year Tom Fletcher has got my goat; but objectively are you saying Dan is a better dancer?! Shock

Gast is Flabbered

@JacquelineCarlyle @MareofBeasttown

Yes, definitely not in Adam's case this time but around the time of Natalie Cassidy and HOLLINS my DM noticed preferential treatment towards BBC contestants and it is a historic issue

StucklnAMuumuuCantGetOutOflt · 08/11/2021 20:13

Also her skit on her twitterfeed with John and Johannes made me smile (also her skits with Neil show they did get on very well indeed).

Bobholll · 08/11/2021 20:46

I like Dan. He seems nice & kind & a lovely husband. A real gentleman.. He cannot dance. This week was awful. Proper dad dancing 🙈 But as ever the British grannies love him 😂 he’s their antidote to the gays 😉😂

I have a John, Rose, AJ final but I’m terrified Tom’s fan base will carry him through 😭 It’s not even really him I dislike, it’s his wife. But they are so smug & think they are so weird & kooky. They’ve lumbered a poor child with the name Buzz but let’s face it, he’ll be a theatre kid so probs be normal. I normally quite like Amy but she’s feeding off the Fletcher vibe of irritating.

TheMadGardener · 08/11/2021 20:47

@Inkanta

Adam's mum must be quite a competitive mum I think.
Don't forget she's probably had years of getting up at dawn to drive young Adam to swimming training and looking daggers at any kid who beat him in races. Sports mums can be scary! (Disclaimer: I am not the least bit sporty but have a relative who was a swimming mum and who was absolutely terrifying bellowing from the side of the pool!)
TheMadGardener · 08/11/2021 20:53

@MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers

Marking my place while watching Dan talk to Tom and Amy on BBC Breakfast. Oh Gawd they're mentioning his kids and have a clip of him dancing with his wife Hmm
And Mrs Tom was on the One Show tonight bigging him up while plugging her own new thing... They are both boring and smug.

UnrelatedIy, I agree that sometimes props are used to kill time and disguise a poor dance. E.g. Sara and Aljaž faffing about with boxes instead of dancing.

However, I did enjoy the prop bit at the start of AJ and Kai''s Charlestown - AJ sneaking a drink and jumping on a sofa while Kai looked horrified at "Lulu"s antics, after which they did a terrific dance.

Not half. Football dads are also pretty awful, judo dads worse, and tennis mums equally ghastly in quite a different way completely derails thread

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 08/11/2021 22:27

I've wasted quite a lot of today watching J&J's rumba and Paso and AJ's Charleston on YouTube. Also had a trip down memory lane to Mark Ramps AT. Now that was hot!

MissMarpleRocks · 09/11/2021 04:54

Question- I always thought that the final two left when Tess is saying who’s in the DO are part of the bottom 3. My sister says not as Tess says no particular order. I’d also love to see how the voting percentages are but don’t think the BBC reveal them.

ElftonWednesday · 09/11/2021 06:40

I agree. I thought she'd messed it up. It looked messy and confused to me but what would I know?!

I do know, a bit though, I did ballroom and latin for years.

Your sister is right - it's in no particular order.
SunshineCake1 · 09/11/2021 07:05

The voting figures are released but I am not sure when.

The BBC don't release the figures. There are occasional "leaks" but there is no evidence that these are reliable.
lollipoprainbow · 09/11/2021 07:58

I caught a clip of her saying what she had learnt about mothering from Kate Middleton after the podcast they did together and it confirmed how irritating and smug I find her !!

Ellmau · 09/11/2021 07:59

I have a secret theory that the first person announced safe is actually the one just out of the danceoff.

ChessieFL · 09/11/2021 08:18

The last one called safe is always someone who could be in the dance off due to their position on the leaderboard, to add a bit of tension. For example, they were never going to leave AJ to be called safe last this week, because once it got down to her and Adam everyone would know that there would be no way it could be her in the dance off. However, as Rose was in the bottom half of the leaderboard there was a chance it could have been her. I don’t think it means that she only just escaped the bottom two though, I think she’s getting enough votes to put her higher than that. So while they say it’s in no particular order, they’re never going to leave an obviously safe person to be called last as it removes all the tension.

Obviously that doesn’t work later on in the series when only the good people are left and it’s all really close anyway!

Runningupthecurtains · 09/11/2021 08:21

They often call early the person that was left to last the previous week.

I think they announce things in whatever order will crank up the tension and make people sweat the most, e.g. if someone is unexpectedly through to the next show they say so quite early so that everyone else starts cacking their pants. It's very cruel and a part of the show that I despise. My mum refuses to watch the Results show and just checks in on It Takes Two on a Monday to see who's out (as quickly as possible, to avoid being blinded by Rylan's teeth).
ppeatfruit · 09/11/2021 09:02

Please poster who blamed British grannies for Dan Voting. Tis not true !!!!!!!

Dan is a dad dancer who is in way over his head, he tries to be slightly dancerish but can't quite make it. Nadiya is very sweet with him , but he needs to be let go NOW Grin

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 09/11/2021 09:26

This seems about right. They called Rhys first the week after he'd been in the DO.
EvilRingahBitch · 09/11/2021 09:42

Dancing On Ice and other ITV shows reveal voting figures at the end of the series - they have to as a legacy of a vote fixing scandal in the past. The BBC doesn't and FOI requests have not succeeded - including an attempt by a clearly deluded Ricky Whittle.
Figgygal · 09/11/2021 10:09

Adams mum really needs to go away and stop showing herself up

OrborRobe · 09/11/2021 10:13

I've never voted Dan but I quite like that he's still in because I have a bit of a Nadia crush 🙈

JacquelineCarlyle · 09/11/2021 10:35

I enjoy watching Dan - I usually watch late so can't vote, but if I could, I'd vote for him, Rose & AJ as I enjoy watching them the most. Much prefer watching Dan to watching Rhys, Sara or Tilly.

IntermittentParps · 09/11/2021 11:44

I think they announce things in whatever order will crank up the tension and make people sweat the most
Definitely. They so transparently call safe someone who thinks they're going home, so we get an early 'relief' reaction, then leave someone good/high-scoring till really late so we think 'No, surely not!'
'in no particular order' my arse Grin
