He was in academia but he wasn't the one who committed suicide.

so why did dhillon's mother go and see the professor? might have to rewatch

The Professor had successfully got the complaint from the girl called Linda (something) dismissed because of his connection to Dhillon's mother, she went to see him to put pressure on him about what he knew and remind him what she had on him.

That's how I viewed it MrsLargeEmbodied,. Then Dhillon's mother did the dirty on the Professor anyway to take the heat off Dhillon and refused calls from his wife even though they were meant to be friends. Very cold and calculating was Dhillon's mother and she knew what Dhillon had done to Linda.

TALITHA Has to be GUILTY. No way smart Hannah who came home at 1am would let stalker Dhillion, who she was reporting to police, into home at 4.30 am without frenemy Talitha being with him, so Talitha present and guilty despite lack of evidence.
