Papergirl1968
Ps the actress playing Cleo had a lovely shaped head. Fabulous acting from her and whoever played Talitha. Nice to see some new faces instead of Suranne Jones and the other regulars.

Agreed. I’m afraid that I think Suranne Jones is the starey-eyed same in everything.

Gilmorehill · 10/11/2021 22:02

I think Talitha was just joking when said ‘we fooled them’. She didn’t want to play the victim a minute longer. Remember Brian was aware of the parties and told Cleo to go for it in the courtroom. Talitha was clearly a damaged person. Also, having been a whistleblower, it seems safe to say Cleo would the moral thing.
I think even Dillon’s mum realised at the end what kind of person he really was. He’d clearly been using Talitha as an excuse for his bad behaviour for years.
I reckon the professor felt guilty because he wondered if he’d put the murder fantasy in Talitha’s head.

Gilmorehill · 10/11/2021 22:03

Both the actresses playing Talitha and Cleo were mesmerising. I hope we’ll see more of them.

VanCleefArpels · 10/11/2021 22:36

Just finished this tonight

The legal inaccuracies did annoy: the quick trial, the solicitor advocate doing principal cross examination, the lack of sentencing hearing / any pleas in mitigation. I agree there would have been medical evidence brought in by D’s team at the very least at sentencing.

However I’m pleased they didn’t do any flashback to show what actually did happen, leaves us all guessing, I wouldn’t have convicted Talitha on the evidence if I were on the jury.

And I’m sure it’s more common than we dare to think that the police don’t hand over exculpatory evidence in advance of trial. Often they will pretty much know someone is guilty and fit the evidence in the best way to achieve a conviction , the justification being that the baddies get put away.

LimitIsUp · 11/11/2021 00:35

@the80sweregreat

She ( Talitha ) said ' we fooled everyone !' Did she make up the abuse?
Nope (1) her mother told Cleo that Talitha lies (because she was worried that the abuse might come up) (2) Talitha's father's right hand man told Cleo to go ahead and expose what happened.
SaltedCaramelIcedLatte · 11/11/2021 11:51

I loved the chemistry between Cleo and Tallitha.

Really enjoyed this, very well acted!

LimitIsUp · 11/11/2021 13:37

It was completely brilliant. I'm sad that I have finished it!

WingingItSince1973 · 11/11/2021 16:10

Wow binged it all today! Sick day here. Love Cleo and Talitha. Not 100% sure she didn't do it either as some things never got mentioned such as could Dhillon lift a lifeless body into a wheelie bin himself? Although I guess the bin could have been lied on it's side. But they never really covered if there was dna traces of Hannah being (sorry about this) dragged into the bin (unless I missed that) Was there any dna found on the wall near the harbour? I guess they can't cover everything in a TV show. Brilliant show though. I hated Talitha at first so could see how she got the back up of the DI but by the end quite liked her. Very very flawed and damaged person. But so well acted. Hope to see the main characters in other things.

WingingItSince1973 · 11/11/2021 16:31

Just read Den Of Geek and the emphasis seems to be on the flashbacks Talitha and Dhillon have and what was shown. Good read.

I believe I recall them saying there was no forensic evidence of Talitha's involvement other than the microfibre of the rucksack in her bracelet (which could be explained by the music festival)

Whereas Dhillon left his semen behind and his DNA on the neck of the vodka bottle

Hotmess1 · 12/11/2021 19:35

Slightly off topic but does anybody know who the actress is that plays James pregnant wife? I know her from somewhere and it’s driving me nuts not knowing where! she’s not coming up on Google/IMDb etc!

@Hotmess1, Jenny Rainsford. www.imdb.com/name/nm5082535/ Do you know her from Fleabag?
Hotmess1 · 12/11/2021 19:44

Aah that is exactly where I know her from!! Thank you, it was really bugging me! 😆

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 12/11/2021 19:49

@LillianGish

The evidence needed to put Talitha at the scene had been washed up by Hannah’s mum. She washed up the glasses they’d all been drinking from. Can’t remember how many there were, but if there were three then I’d say Talitha was guilty - the defence were able to cast doubt on the bracelet evidence, but it would have been harder to say her DNA got on a glass on a previous occasion. The jury had to acquit Talitha, but being found not guilty doesn’t mean she didn’t do it. I think she did - they just couldn’t prove it.
What a good point, and obviously in the opening scene we had no idea what was to come, so I wasn't paying attention to anything like that. I've just looked back and I think we only see two glasses. That doesn't mean there weren't more dirty glasses lying around, but in the shot where we see the mother rinsing glasses and an empty vodka bottle, there are only two glasses visible.
Palmtree · 13/11/2021 09:28

Was there any resolution with regards to the missing bank card, or was it just a red herring? And what was the story about DI Cassidy's sidekick ("Sundance"?) leaking info to Brian, Sir Damien's PI? All a bit fishy to me!

LakesideView · 13/11/2021 10:06

Palmtree yes the drug dealer got hold of the bank card (can’t remember how!) and gave it to his friend in the West Midlands.

LimitIsUp · 13/11/2021 12:28

I don't think she did it - she had no real motive, and Dylan's explanation of a sex game that went wrong wasn't credible

Frogsonglue · 14/11/2021 14:00

Just finished it - brilliant series! Talitha was so compelling, I was really rooting for her by the end even though I'm still not 100% sure she was innocent.

I've got another "what's he been in?" question - the disclosure officer? Didn't catch his character's name. I'm sure I've seen him in some kid's thing?!

Also, Kerr Logan in his own voice, phwoarr!! Blush

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/11/2021 14:12

Is this the disclosure officer? Rob Jarvis, looks like a busy working actor from his IMDB entry. www.imdb.com/name/nm0419112/?ref_=tt_cl_t_18

Frogsonglue · 14/11/2021 15:09

Thank you Gaspode! He is busy isn't he? No idea why I recognise him though.

CassandraCross · 14/11/2021 15:38

@LakesideView

Palmtree yes the drug dealer got hold of the bank card (can’t remember how!) and gave it to his friend in the West Midlands.
Someone at the Ball was found to be stealing from bags left in a cloakroom by those such as Hannah who were working at the Ball. Not sure if the thief was an associate of the drug dealer or someone else working that night, I can't remember the detail, either way it was irrelevant to the case against Talitha.
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/11/2021 16:03

Drug dealer's sister was there too. She was the one nicking stuff from bags.

CassandraCross · 14/11/2021 16:24

Thanks Gasp, I missed that detail!

Palmtree · 14/11/2021 16:55

Aha, thanks for the clarification re: the bank card, I was confused!

Sensechex · 16/11/2021 07:50

I just finished watching this and I did enjoy it. Still not really sure if she was guilty. Although I do think that if dhillon was there and taking part in the “game” and helped to dispose body then that makes him pretty guilty really. And it just wasn’t possible to convict her without any evidence just on his say so.

One thing I did wonder was if they would have allowed all the stuff in court about the abuse? Wouldn’t the judge have ruled it as irrelevant?
