Next week will be interesting. Sara's q/s might be nice, but 9–5 theming is probably going to be annoying. AJ might be great at the Charleston, or her Bambi legs might re-appear. I hope Jojo gets his choreographical mojo back, I haven't really got properly into their last few dances and rumba is a tricky one!

I think Sara's hair was meant to look like Melanie Griffiths in the 1998 film Working Girl, which is where the 9-5 song comes from. Not Dolly Parton herself!

As opposed to the 1980 film 9 to 5 which Dolly starred in, alongside Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda? Dolly Parton wrote and sang 9-5 for the film. It was nominated for best song but didn't win. Carly Simon won for Working Girl (Let the river run) in 1988.

No, I retract that - it just looks like a bad perm, neither Mel nor Dolly.
The blouse revealing/giving a crease that looked like back fat was unforgivable though (I say that as plus size).

I preferred the other two renditions but threw Sara a vote because she was done dirty by wardrobe.

I genuinely think the perm was a bad nod to Dolly. Otherwise , why do it.

Sorry piggy if not clear - it absolutely was meant to be Dolly Parton 100% but they have done too small rollers and the curls are too tight. Dolly's curls are softer. Sara almost has a mullet perm going on, hence the Melanie comparison.
Basically it's a very bad Dolly impression, an unflattering blouse and crap colours. They could have kept Bondage Ken though from last week and had Sara release the gimp as the boss was rigged up similarly in the movie

Don’t understand why Dan is still in and not been in a DO up to now.....he is dull beyond dull and no dance ability...last nights he walked about...at least Judi and Ugo had a personality ...he has neither ...see what tonight brings but if there’s any justice he’ll be a goner...

I don’t get it either - he’s consistently at the bottom of the board yet consistently avoids being in the dance off. He must have an enormous fan base.

I think Tom's Paso would have looked better if the costumes had been a different colour. Something more dramatic. I couldn't get my head past the slightly comical feel they gave off.

Actually, that might be what the problem was for me. I loved Amy's dress, but Tom's suit was just ridiculous. Would have been better in black.

Yes Tom and Amy’s costumes made them look like a vaudeville act, which is not quite the vibe you want for a paso.

I really think Sara must have pissed someone in Hair and Make up off because every week they put her in unflattering colours, materials and dresses and the hair and make up always ages her.

Sara is no fresh faced size zero 18 year old, but that doesn't mean she has to be dressed so badly and in such unflattering shapes and materials that cling in all the wrong places. I am very plus sized and very comfortable in my body but there is no way I would wear some of the outfits they have put her in as I would be so self conscious of how unflattering they are and would be more focused on staying in the dress than on the dance ... as for the hair and make up, it looks cheap and trowelled on some weeks - Sara does lovely make up looks herself, that suit her colours etc and yes they have to be "Strictly-fied" but I don't know why they are getting it so wrong.

She posted a picture to Instagram last night of her and Aljaž in rehearsal where she is wearing all black but with the ringlet mullet and if I didn't know the dance I'd think she was going for the Olivia Newton John from the end of Grease look. Yeah, agree was bad Dolly perm. However, in the 80s she did have that very tight perm. It is how I imagine her and then I look at pics and realise that was just a phase...

Re the blue paso, I swear Amy is always going for the Rule Britannia/Forces Sweetheart look.

Thanks @Maireas for the correction! Basically, whether it was meant to be Dolly or Melanie, the hair was not a good look for Sara. Well done her for smiling all the way through though!
