The is the spooky Hallowe'en night spoiler-free Strictly thread! 🎃 🎃

I'm setting it up a bit early, because I don't think I'll be able to watch live, and the previous thread is almost at an end. Check over there first to see if it's still going before posting on this one.

Thoughts for tonight:

• I would bet my house on Rose and Gio winning the series at this point.
• Best dances tonight, Rose's and AJ's, but sure they are both safe so didn't need our votes tonight.
• Absolute scandal that Judi wasn't bottom of the leaderboard. She defo needs to go.
• Dan made a brave stab at the lobster jive.
• Aljaž looked divine but his dance v. disappointing. Unusual since usually a Couples' Choice gets overmarked not criticised.
• Tom, John, Tilly, Rhys, Adam all very "meh" tonight.
• Hated the Frankenstein costumes but Kai and Gio looked hot. Not even going to go there with the WTF Graz was wearing.
• What was with all the urging AJ and Kai to kiss??
• Our votes tonight went to Dan and Sara out of sympathy.

I hope Sara escapes the dance off, purely for the god that is Aljaz.

I’m only now recovering from his outfit....

Too much shoehorning of Sara’s ‘journey’ into that routine and the literal references to dragons made me cringe.

But oh my heavens thank you Strictly wardrobe department for the leather and chains...

Is this the worst series ever? There hasn't been one stand out dance.

It's because the celebs are z list this year, I've never heard of Rhys, AJ, Tilly and they bore me ! No celebs with any character, all super dull. We need some bigger names next series please.

I would so like Gio to win, he has been robbed before. I think he's a good teacher and training Rose to dance to muscle memory and counting is a challenge for them both.

I loved his partnership with Debbie McGee he was so respectful of her and last year protective of Ranvir, and building her confidence. I don't see any romance with him and Rose, though they are both good actors. I think they have the same sense of humour but I'm not sure Rose has fallen for his charm.

He is a very charming man and, I think, a bit of a player. But I have to watch them dance twice as I cant take my eyes off him.

Rose is a lovely dancer and I hope she wins but compared to other years she's not outstanding.

Very, very few WOW moments this year

And perhaps One dance that has stood out per show.

Rose and Gio have now had 3, Movie Week, Falling and tonight. Thats why they will win

J and J started off great but their routines have become very samey.

It's finally Joe Varney's year.

Agree with all of the above, but I remember a lot of us saying last year, it felt a bit flat... still only halfway through the series though, so hopefully things will improve!

I like the spoiler as I often miss it on a Sunday when I'm tidying up and sorting the kids out.

I hate the themed weeks! I hated movie week and last night was pretty underwhelming. Standard is not very high this year.

Not really sure why Gio hasn't won before as he really should have! He has had some outstanding dancers (Faye, Debbie).

He definitely deserves a win as he is the best pro (imo anyway)

I remember in his first series thinking he was a definite player and not being impressed with him but, my god, he came into his own and showed he was a very caring partner with Debbie and his choreography is outstanding!

I've always been a fan of Gio from the beginning.
He has been robbed several times.
It is a popularity contest. That's why lots of not so good, usually male celebs win.
It's why I'm glad Oti is out as she has won lots with average dancers.
As for Gio being a 'player' well the man is beautiful.
He could literally have any woman (or man) alive.
He is a God on legs and the most beautiful dancer.
I'm voting for him. I don't care if Rose falls on her arse, I'll still vote for them.
I'm also impressed with Rose so that does help 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆

I think Every one had to be savvy.
Make sure you clap and smile at your competitors. Always look happy and smile, smile,smile.
Throw in stories about your kids and partner and how much you love them, more than anything else. Don't mention the fact you are practicing 14 hours a day 7 days a week for months in end so never, ever see them. No, no that doesn't fit the agenda.
What? Don't have kids? Well bring on grandma and grandad then, that will do. Better still dance to their favourite song ever whilst reciting how much this song means to them.
Keep smiling! Smile whilst the judges tell you you are shit. Smile whilst they give you technical advice which you don't understand, nod furiously whilst still smiling and say you will take it on board.
Tell the world that your dance partner is amazing and how much of a friendship you have made. Make sure to say on every single opportunity that your pro partner is THE best and how you could not sleep the night before partners were revealed, hoping and praying that you would be coupled with this pro, and ta dah! God heard you and granted your wish.
Keep smiling, it's all about making the public like you.
How I long for the days of Wll Young and Brandon types who would argue back. That's now gone, as the public might not like it.

Judi, along with Dan or Sara need to be in the DO this week. The scoring was ridiculous.

@Onlinedilema Oti did win with average dancers, but unbelievably when she had a brilliant dancer (Danny Mac), she didn't. They were definitely robbed!

Apart from Gio & Rose I was pretty underwhelmed with last night.

Just rewatched some of Tilly's dance - the characterisation was excellent but to my uneducated eye, it looked a bit laboured and clunky feel it may have been overmarked.

Extremely overmarked but all her dances are, and IMO she is always very heavy footed and clunky.

Yes, he was brilliant with her. She seemed really fragile after losing Paul and he just seemed to bolster her confidence. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him but I still love him.

I loved that partnership with Debbie and was gutted they didn’t win. He’s become the Leonardo diCaprio of Strictly - always in the running but never taking home the big prize. Well, Leo finally got his Oscar a couple of years ago and I hope this is Gio’s year for the glitterball.

His skill at choreography is amazing and he seems such a good teacher as well. But his romantic history is a bit of a chequered one - he seems to have really intense, high profile relationships which fizzle out really quickly (Georgia/Ashley/Maura…) It’s all eternal love and then poof! They’ve gone.

@ApolloandDaphne she won't go out, but at least that way Judi goes.

It's the earliest anyone has scored 40 in Strictly history, and I think he's probably feeling emotional that he's done that with Rose. It's clear that he's a very good teacher and I suspect he feels very proud of her.
