My all-time favourite charleston is Matt and Aliona's, back when the charleston was a recent phenomenon on Strictly.

Thinking about Craig's knowledge though....I know he's not trained but honestly after 19 seasons I'm pretty sure he's up to speed on the technical requirements?? Although it would be nice if they went back to pulling them up on lifts, having said that there doesn't seem to have been much off piste lifting this season, so far.

I never really noticed Kev until DD and I went to see Rock of Ages and he walked out as Stacey Jaxx with the long hair and the tight white trousers. DD and I looked at each other with a serious WTF. Its certainly a look that suits him.

We're going to see him again in it next month, have a feeling DD will be wanting to stage door stalk.

I don’t dispute that Craig is very knowledgeable, but there only so far that “theory” can take you. There’s a world of difference between 17 years of watching other people dance and 17 years of dancing it yourself.

It’s not just understanding what the technique looks like, but how you generate it and what the consequences of correct/incorrect technique are. Again, not disputing that Craig doesn’t know it, he just won’t know it as well as the other Judges do.

Phew. Finally caught up & found you. All I can say is WTF with the marking and thank goodness Greg has gone. That dance was painful to watch.

Watching the dance off last night, I was wondering if Jake Woods or one of the other better celebs in past series could have made that samba respectable. Was it all down to Greg, or dodgy choreo to boot?

I’m not a fan of Judi and think she was deservedly in the dance off (possibly Dan Walker too).
I’m afraid she is just too large to look good on the dance floor - it’s an aesthetic thing.
Yes she can wiggle her substantial arse until the cows come home but it just doesn’t look good, especially next to a professional dancer.
I don’t appreciate the blatant sob story attempt to get votes. Fuck off with that, Strictly is supposed to be lighthearted and jolly and a relief from the shit world outside, stop inserting personal tragedies! Greg did the same with his sister.

When my sister was going through cancer treatment, she used to vet her TV viewing carefully so she wasn’t confronted with something medical or tragic. It was a fine line she walked, just wanting to be distracted and not think about cancer for an hour.

Yes I've noticed the strugglers wheeling out the sad story earlier & earlier. This isn't X Factor - I don't want to see that kind of stuff. It doesn't make me like / relate to them more. It's about the dancing for me. Like it's supposed to be.

I never used to be able to warm to Karen and found her extremely irritating, I can't remember which celeb she had but he was saying she used to growl and bite his ankles, and I don't think he was joking. It was all very OTT. I think she's massively toned it down since her split with Kevin and has seemingly mellowed.
