The Strictly chatter continues...

I don't want to speculate but John and Johannes....do we think something is going on there?

AR leaves me cold, as does Couple's Choice. The choreography for the latter seems particularly bad this year. It doesn't seem quite fair that some people are being marked quite rigidly on technical dances while others get to, well, arse around.

I liked that they did a fairly simple ballroom opening routine but I didn't get the Movie Week connection, so that was a bit disappointing.

That was the first dance by John and Johannes I didn't warm to. The music and the theme just didn't work for me.

Kind of losing interest in Adam but gaining interest in Rose. She, AJ and Tom were my favourites tonight, although Tom was one of the lucky few to get a dance and a theme that really suited him, and with decent music too. Bonus points to Gorka for being adorable. (Or should that be Bonio points?)

Did anyone else have difficulty voting online? I managed in the end, but the BBC seems to make it so hard sometimes.

I've thought that from week 1, and I think John's husband/partner did, too.

Voted AJ, Rose and Rob.

Would like to see Katie or Judi go. Neither very good dancers and botha PITA in different ways.

Just finished watching on catch up.

Really great week. Some very, very good dances and was really surprised for week 3.

Voted Rob (he is being given these stupid comedy roles when he can dance and I don't want it to send him out unfairly), Rose (beautiful dance) and John even though he is a ringer (???) but I liked that dance the most. I also thought AJ and Rhys were great, but I think they are safe. Tom and Ugo much improved and the dance suited them. Good samba for Sara.

Think Dan, Katie and Tilly might be in danger. I think Adam will get enough votes to keep him in.

I'm really liking the pared down music they use for Rose's dances. I think it makes the dances better.

Faves this week: John, Rhys, AJ, Rose, Tom. Although I'm still not sure about J/J as a ballroom pairing, they look so similar you don't get the light and shade of a conventional pairing. It's worked for the dances they've done so far, but...

Predicted danceoff (and no, no access to or interest in spoilers): I think Robert (poor, and those outfits did them no favours), with either Judi or poor Katie again. Outside bets Greg, Sara, Adam or Tilly. And Robert to go.

I think Dan will be safe because I suspect he's got a strong fanbase and people like my DM who will think he's a Nice Young Man, and who will be energised by the excessively unkind judges' comments.

No, but they probably love the attention and are playing it up. I'm not comfortable with it and his partner is clearly not thrilled either.

I liked John and Johannes but I remember there being cape work in the pasa doble, am I mistaken was it another dance? Or has the cape been dropped for all pasa dobles lately as DH pointed out the tall Dan fella didn't do any capework when he had it last week.

I rarely vote but had to vote 3 times for Adam as I think he still has so much to give and I would be disappointed if he was done by the rumba

Just rewatched it (any excuse) and Jay’s jive was also week 3, Darcey gave it 9 “as it’s week 3”. So makes the 10s this week look a bit daft when the dances weren’t up to the same standard.

Also, I like Dan but he was crap tonight and overmarked bbc employee

Shirley really annoyed me with her string of 7s for about 7 dances that were clearly very different in quality!

I don’t think John and Johannes are being more effusive over each other than any of the other pairings.

Why poor Katie if she's in the dance off again?

If she's not getting the votes then she needs to improve or learn to come across more personable.

Male celebs learning to cape was always a thing. It's been dropped. It does feel like it gets a bit less "Strict"ly every year

I appreciate Johannes is a great dancer, but I get fed up with how much everything is made to be about him, both in the celeb pairing and within the show generally. The dancers' job is to make the celebs look as good as possible, and not to make it about them, but he doesn't seem to have got that message, nor does he get called out for out-dancing his partner, whereas other pros do.

Voted 3x for Robert as I think he can dance and was stitched up by dreadful Muppetry. Plus I enjoyed seeing David and Victoria in the audience.

Looking at the Strictly FB page tonight, each video of each dance has between 150-300 views EXCEPT for Rose and John''s videos which have over 2000 views each! This suggests they both have massive public support.
Going to go out on a limb already and say the finalists will be Rose and John (on public vote) and AJ (on dance ability & judges' votes). Unless any of them get Covid at the wrong moment.
I would like to see Katie and Tilly in the bottom two this week.

My all-time favourite Paso was Austin and Erin in Series 6, which was definitely very Paso-y. I miss the days of the dances having their own distinct flavour.

TBH I'm sorry for anyone in the danceoff, but more so when they end up there multiple times, even when they 'deserve' to be.
