I'm glad he's going to complain- I just hope he will be taken seriously.

Rob is lying to Karen- I knew he didn't want to make a go of things.

If he is defined by hid job, what will happen to Rob when he reaches retirement age? He can't be too far off surely.

MyCat before all the Harriet stuff, I'm sure he mentioned something about his retirement, and wouldn't discuss it properly with Gobby. It was what seemed to start all the 'not talking to Karen' stuff. The fact he is now so determined to go back to work because he loves it so much seems at odds with that. So, I don't really know what is going on with him.

I think spending day in day out with your spouse would be a bit trying, especially if it's Gobby

I wonder too about retirement. I'm glad Karen said she wasn't happy to give up on sex forever- and they clearly haven't had any for ages already! I quite liked the scene where Valerie was not particularly interested in Karen's life because while I still feel marrying yourself is a strange thing Karen hasn't been a great friend to Valerie. The Sid/Lawrence/Eileen storyline was good light relief! I am glad Bear is complaining and the racism is going to be a longer running issue.

To be fair to Karen, she's got a lot on her plate- and although I think she has been very miserable lately, she has good reason, and she probably thinks the sologamy thing is another Valerie fad- and self indulgent twaddle. Which it is, I suppose, and Gobby is going through a real crisis. I don't think she's got much spare for something she doesn't really get.

I'm sure when it comes to it, they will all rally round Val though- at least I hope so.

Oh I agree that Valerie's thing is strange and self indulgent and I can understand Karen not having a lot of time but the other day she was really rude to Valerie and has clearly not apologised either. Valerie tries really hard to be a good friend to Karen too. The young actors today were good too, believable

Sid/Lawrence parachuting has a lot of potential. .

And yes, it does seem that Rob is getting everything his own way. He is just going to go on blatantly lying to Gobby about the ADs- he likes things as they are- and surely she will snap at some point? If sex is the deal breaker, she won't stay.

small I know. But I think Gobby has been a really supportive friend to Val in the past - often- when others have treated her as a joke- she just hasn't really got the patience to do it now- and rightly or wrongly- I can see why.

I did like the young actors.

They have upped their game a bit this week, the writers.

I have to say as much as I hate the rainbow preachy stuff of late, the episode with Bear and his mum and the awful racism they encountered was brilliantly done, it was very powerful, I really felt for both of them, Bear staying so calm and strong when being outnumbered and gaslit by the hospital staff and then collapsing in tears out of sight, very moving and thought provoking, well done to the actors involved.

He really should have recycled that milk carton.

Can't watch live today! Poor DD2 has got a cough, not a new one but school have said that she needs to show a negative PCR test for her to be allowed back in. She had 2 tests only 3 weeks ago - half term was ruined because her first test was void so we had to self isolate until she got the 2nd load of results. So now we are watching Peppa Pig to cheer her up and I'll watch Doctors later

Killed long story- but a racist nurse upset Makeda so she didn't have her sigmoidoscopy- and she ended up in the hospital with sepsis (I I think).
Bear was thrown out of the hospital when he went to speak to the original nurse at the endoscopy department- the head of the deaprtment bascially decided he was agressive and threw him out. It was all to do with race- he saw Bear reach for Id- and assumed he was reaching for a weapon, I think.

So- after that- Bear rang Sid and said he couldn't visit his mum any more- but it seems he can.
