Is there a word shortage now? Today's script was dreary and repetitive.Confused Where it existed.Hmm

Raahh · 11/11/2021 17:05

Ok- so I googled- and there was exactly a week between Cherry leaving - and Emma joining the Mill (well, joining Doctors as Emma- as we know, Dido has been in it 5 times before Grin).

Raahh · 11/11/2021 17:07

They are doing a lot of flash backs and repetition- I suppose it is plot device to reinforce the point, or something.

It's not a bad episode- I mean- I watched far worse Grin.

Raahh · 11/11/2021 17:08

(And it makes a change from Rob being constantly horrible to Gobby).

TooBigForMyBoots · 11/11/2021 17:12

We all have @Raahh.GrinGrinGrin We need more whimsy. If I wanted misery I'd watch Eastenders.

Raahh · 11/11/2021 17:18

Too -oh, I agreeGrin- I'm glad I'm watching it now and not at 2pm. It's a but heavy for 2pm.

But... is it really ok for Emma to drop an FME shift for a hairdressers appointment? What excuse did she give the station? Hmm

Willowkins · 11/11/2021 18:15

I thought it was a good storyline but weighted too heavily on Jimmy's self-analysis.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 11/11/2021 18:30

I thought the close up of the bunny slippers was a bit Confused

smallandimperfectlyformed · 11/11/2021 20:00

Hmm I quite liked today's, I particularly liked Emma's (rightful) insistence that neither she or Jimmi were at fault for the neighbours death: that was solely Ross's responsibility. I don't quite understand why Jimmi took it the way he did but I don't actually think he is as together mentally as he wants to be - and it was nice to be reminded of his OCD.

Binglebong · 11/11/2021 20:59

I liked this one. If you go through that i am sure you would question everything, looking for how you allowed it to happen. You didn't, of course, and that's part of the problem. The massive loss of control as you realise that you can do everything right and things still go wrong. So you want to find something you did wrong, that way you know if you do everything right from now on it won't happen again and you will be in control.

ExcessiveIyDisorganised · 12/11/2021 12:41

Just watched it, I enjoyed that one, I like it when they focus on one story and play it totally straight for a change. Jimmi and Emma were great. Lou looked way too young to live in a house like that though. Hope Jimmi's going to be OK.

Raahh · 12/11/2021 16:28

Excessively the house thing was in stark contrast to the transplant father/son 'with no money' - because we only ever saw them on their door step- obviously social distancing doesn't allow for being in 'small' houses.

It really is getting silly that we are meant to believe that everybody- even when the storyline is about how they can't afford to feed their cat- lives in a vast house with a kitchen so big it could fit a 4 bed semi in it Grin.
Grin.

ExcessiveIyDisorganised · 12/11/2021 17:08

Did you notice the other day when Al, Luca and Starbuck went out for a drink they had three small tables pushed together one each so they were miles apart.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 12/11/2021 17:16

I want to know how they can afford these massive houses. Property in Letherbridge must be very cheap.

absolutelynotfabulous · 12/11/2021 17:25

"Did you notice the other day when Al, Luca and Starbuck went out for a drink they had three small tables pushed together one each so they were miles apart"

Yes!

smallandimperfectlyformed · 14/11/2021 12:53

Don't know about the other soaps but Emmerdale has gone back to having characters hugging and kissing so it's much more realistic, have hated seeing characters fall in love without touching! I hope that means Doctors stops the obvious social distancing which is impacting on how the actors can deliver their lines etc.

Binglebong · 14/11/2021 13:39

Doctors seems to be filmed a lot further in advance - they will have been working with more restrictions.

MadisonAvenue · 14/11/2021 14:08

Yes, one of the characters showed themselves filming in Winter wear during a heatwave this Summer and we’ve not seen that yet.
MadisonAvenue · 14/11/2021 14:09

But then Letherbridge has it’s own climate doesn’t it.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 14/11/2021 14:40

Letherbridge is the only Soap location I would love to live in. Posh houses, medical care on tap, and no sinkholes or gangland murders.

Binglebong · 14/11/2021 18:56

As long as you avoid The Churchill!

smallandimperfectlyformed · 14/11/2021 21:54

Oh my goodness the Churchill, glad we no longer have Eesh with her giant chip on the shoulder about having grown up with so little privileges compared to the other staff at The Mill! Mind you it makes me laugh because it reminds me of the Jasmine Allen Estate which was where most of the ne'er do Wells were in The Bill!

Raahh · 15/11/2021 13:46

Luca needs to stop stirring.

Raahh · 15/11/2021 13:48

I'm not keen on the doctor, she's been quite negative, right from the off.

Raahh · 15/11/2021 13:53

Scary hair do.
