I am watching this for the 100th time. It's become a yearly event Grin

Just wondered what your favourite deaths were?
Who did you love?
Who drove you crazy?

I'm on season 3 at the moment and I absolutely can't stand Lisa. She's so passive aggressive and controlling. I think it's my least favourite season.
Also thought Vanessa and Keith (in the earlier seasons) were awful
I loved Bettina.

Loved all the fisher family, so wonderfully dysfunctional

I won't join this thread properly, I have just bought the boxed set having not seen it.
Very excited!

Eddielzzard · 30/09/2021 19:22

This was one of my favourite shows. I finished watching in 2006 I think so can't remember any character's names but it was brilliant. You reckon I should rewatch?

Eddielzzard · 30/09/2021 19:24

I remember the golf ball one every time I walk the dog along the edge of the course.

The mum was brilliant. So brittle and uptight yet vulnerable

ZombeaArthur · 30/09/2021 19:27

The episode with Josh Radnor (Ted from HIMYM) always makes me sad.

LateDecemberBackInLowB12 · 30/09/2021 19:30

Its been years since I saw it, but they did the last episode so well. It's not often I feel emotional at a TV programme but that one got me a bit.

I might give it a rewatch actually. Thanks for the reminder op.

Yes I found the finale really emotional/haunting... I can't quite find the right expression for it. One of the most memorable endings to a TV series!
AnyFucker · 30/09/2021 19:35

Absolutely brilliant series

LateDecemberBackInLowB12 · 30/09/2021 19:47

@FusciasBright21 it's maybe because we aren't used to seeing the absolute end of every character like that, maybe the odd one who dies as the series goes on, but the way they showed how everyone died was really unusual, and brilliant, and, I agree, haunting.

TomAllenWife · 30/09/2021 20:23

Oh my the finale is the finest piece of tv ever

Yes yes definitely watch, I still love it every time I watch it, it's like a comfort blanket

@ZombeaArthur I've never seen HIMYM which one is that

The one with the woman choking alone always freaks me out because I eat way to fast and don't chew my food! I'm convinced that's how I'll go!!!!

I love the woman who kills her boring husband with the frying pan GrinGrin

ZombeaArthur · 30/09/2021 20:36

@TomAllenWife It’s the family who think the husband walked out on them decades ago, but it turns out he had an accident the day he left and died Sad

Stopsnowing · 30/09/2021 20:49

Where is it on?

Gormless · 30/09/2021 20:51

I loved David. I always recall the horrible lift shaft death Shock

dapsnotplimsolls · 30/09/2021 20:57

I haven't watched it for years, not sure if I want to rewatch at the moment, maybe next year! Lisa was very irritating.

JoanOgden · 30/09/2021 21:00

Yes, I always remember the lift death, and the one where David gets stuck in the hearse with the guy on crystal meth

JoanOgden · 30/09/2021 21:00

And the baby dying from cot death Sad

SiobhanSharpe · 30/09/2021 21:02

How do you watch it online? Is it on Netflix/Amazon Prime?

LateDecemberBackInLowB12 · 30/09/2021 21:03

The most memorable one for me was the episode with the foot 😂

FlosCampi · 30/09/2021 21:05

I loved this! The deaths of the week and the over arcing family story lines, and a really satisfactory ending! I am nagging my son to watch again with meGrin

inmyslippers · 30/09/2021 21:14

I loved this show! Where are you watching it?

purpleme12 · 30/09/2021 21:18

Oh my god I so want to watch this again!
Used to love this show!

TomAllenWife · 30/09/2021 21:34

It's on sky box sets or sky on demand one or the other (I have all the dvds too though lol)

Omg yes I forgot the lift shaft one 🙈 haven't got to that one yet.
The cot death was desperately sad

I love David too, especially when he lets himself go sometimes

I think it's my favourite series of all time

Just watched the finale, excellent series, was my first time watching and watched it over the last month, had to avoid any threads and reviews, as saw something early on about the finale being very good. I loved David and do feel it has set me up for the new Dexter series.

RedRiverShore · 30/09/2021 22:50

I watched it on Sky on demand, it says it is it is on there until December 2025, first 2 series are in the old standard 4:3 and series 3-5 are in normal HD widescreen

JudyGemstone · 30/09/2021 22:57

I liked the biker death, when he gets hit by a truck on his hog delivering presents to kids or something.
They keep the home open late so the other bikers can hang out and party. Don’t Fear the Reaper by blue oyster cult plays over the end credits.

I like the idea of dying doing something you love and having people celebrate your life like that.

This was the first ‘prestige’ tv series I got really into, it felt a lot like a stage production at times, maybe as the director had a theatre background.

The acting was amazing and the characters brilliantly written.
