Loving Kai and AJ's partnership - very appealing the way they communicate on the floor. I really hope they appeal to the GBP - they're certainly working the NOT A RINGER HONEST! message hard enough.

She needs to calm down a lot for her to win me over! She is firmly in my "irritatingly enthusiastic" box with Rhys and Judy. Nadia is hovering just outside it along with Robert and possibly Greg.

Simonjt · 28/09/2021 10:25

@SoupDragon

I have rugby playing sons and their flexibility is appalling! It's just not something that's worked on in training.

Although wasn't there a "thing" about rugby players learning ballet?or was that footballers? 🤔

It depends on the club really, the clubs I have played for have all held yoga as part of training. I may be a prop forward but I can do the splits. But the sport generally buggers your flexibility, I’m only in my early 30’s but I already have some reduced flexibility in my shoulders .
iklboo · 28/09/2021 10:51

I’m pleasantly surprised by Adam so far, I honestly thought those big bulky shoulders would be a real hinderance (they still may be when he does ballroom!).

I agree - but I'm hoping he does a fab paso.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 28/09/2021 12:22

I think in ballroom it shouldn't be too bad, but Johannes will have to be careful in Latin — because they're the same height and similar physicality it will really highlight if John isn't keeping up. I'm cautiously optimistic though based on how they've looked so far!

I need a couple of weeks before I commit. Grin

@EvilRingahBitch

I reckon both Ugo and Adam are slightly deficient in the rhythm department but Oti and Katya are going to get them to dance by sheer force of willpower dammit. Katya in particular senses blood. There's a photo Monkseal put up of Kristyna Rhihanoff (sp?) looking up at Jason Donovan and seeing his head replaced by a huge glitterball and that's the energy I'm getting from Katya and Adam.

Greg is an utter duffer but by dint of wearing vests at every opportunity he's managed to get the fact that he's quite ripped for a bloke of his age all over prime time BBC and can now wait for the Marvel casting guys to get around to him.

Loving Kai and AJ's partnership - very appealing the way they communicate on the floor. I really hope they appeal to the GBP - they're certainly working the NOT A RINGER HONEST! message hard enough.

John is a bit of a ringer but I'm loving watching him. Because of the same sex pairing I think Johannes is going to have to try particularly hard not to outdance him, but I'm sure they'll be fine.

Couldn't agree more about Greg. I would love to watch more of him in a vest tbh.

Love Kai, and AJ did do fantastically.

Has John got previous dance experience? I must have missed this. Although I could see it's likely given his great shaping etc.

EvilRingahBitch · 28/09/2021 15:07

John did fairly serious dance lessons in his early teens. Not a mega-ringer, but definitely has talent (because you're not going to carry on with dance lessons into your teens if you have two left feet) and a solid grasp of the basics.

LadyDanburysHat · 28/09/2021 16:06

Thanks @EvilRingahBitch so pretty much the same as the stage school types then.

EsmaCannonball · 28/09/2021 16:56

Wasn't keen on Tears Dry On Their Own for a foxtrot when Louise and Kevin did it and I'm not keen on it now. Had a look at this week's song list and they really need to stop rehashing so much music, especially from routines that were recent and memorable (Susan and Kevin's quickstep). It's like the music producer has got the one box of CDs he picked up at a car boot a few years ago.

FancyFlipFlops · 28/09/2021 18:01

I wonder how much the choices in music is dictated by what the band and singers can play. Also there is rights to play songs as well, they can’t just play anything they like.

I wonder if now is the time to start doing as the DWTS show does and have recorded music as well.

JacquelineCarlyle · 28/09/2021 18:04

They really need recorded music too as more often than not, the singing is atrocious!

SequinsandStiIettos · 28/09/2021 18:17

Third outing for Tears (Louise, Lisa)
Poor Judi with a samba but at least it's a choon
Good 4 u has a jivy fast chorus
Eurythmics

SequinsandStiIettos · 28/09/2021 18:23

So...six new songs for Dave and crew to learn plus perhaps a rearrangement or two, and whatever Tom had which won't be needed/will be moved to another week.
I think it could be down to rehearsing time. 7/15 is fair enough for new music if Covid has meant less chance to sort, don't know. I do agree though that once a piece is iconic, you leave it well alone.

herecomesthsun · 28/09/2021 18:25

Judi out then

SequinsandStiIettos · 28/09/2021 18:28

The arrangement should make it different enough (Ugo)
Am voting for him anyway because he is still taking part, felt the same towards Alexandra and Daisy.

SequinsandStiIettos · 28/09/2021 18:31

Nah, she can smash it to Sean Paul.
Plus I think if Judi vs Sara, they'll save Judi.

teenmumandsowhat · 28/09/2021 18:57

Won’t lie Judi’s laugh is starting to grate on me…

CaveMum · 28/09/2021 19:02

Oh loving the music for Judi’s Samba! You can’t beat a bit of Sean Paul and that track has such a great Samba rhythm.

Nice to see they’re using proper Latin music for Rosie’s Salsa, it annoys me no end when they use generic pop music

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 29/09/2021 14:52

Aljaž has been cast in the film they're making of Matilda: The Musical.

News report. They don't say who he's playing, but I would guess Rudolpho?

OP posts:
Comefromaway · 29/09/2021 14:56

It has to be Rudolpho, surely?

EsmaCannonball · 29/09/2021 15:13

I wonder if they have found a replacement for The Lovely Ian Waite for tonight's ITT or are they going to use a rota of ex-pros for that slot, if they haven't got rid of it altogether?

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 29/09/2021 16:11

I'm rewatching little bits I missed.

Robert Webb..want to like him but he is just going to a be a joker I think :(

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 29/09/2021 16:18

Just watched Karen and what's his face
Shirley's comments fucking hell.

DontWantTheRivalry · 29/09/2021 16:30

Just watched Karen and what's his face
Shirley's comments fucking hell.

What did she say??

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 29/09/2021 17:44

She just annihilated the whole thing basically. It was the comment about fundamentals.

Right about to watch Judy. Didn't realise how much I missed..
