And same sex partnership Stateside.... Jojo and Jenna, very good, especially impressed with Jojo able to pick up her pro when she fell (Jojo is the sleb).

FancyFlipFlops · 23/09/2021 01:51

What channel/time is DWTS on please?

EvilRingahBitch · 23/09/2021 07:10

It's not broadcast in the UK at all, but all the dances are put up on the show's YouTube channel.

covetingthepreciousthings · 23/09/2021 07:26

I've always found it a shame a broadcaster hasn't bought rights to show it each week in the U.K. (DWTS I mean), or at least Netflix. I think it would be popular?

EvilRingahBitch · 23/09/2021 07:30

I know - I loved watching it on holiday in the US. There are dodgy streaming sites of course but I can't be bothered with them.

chillied · 23/09/2021 08:01

Mel C seems so happy there!

ThursdayLastWeek · 23/09/2021 08:08

Hello all checking in ready for Saturday. I wasn’t expecting the live shows to kick off so soon after launch, a pleasant surprise Smile

charliebear78 · 23/09/2021 08:37

Many years ago I used to download lots of American TV series etc(before they made it almost impossible to do so)
I watched DWTS and loved it-i would even say the dances were usually better than the ones on strictly.
Such a shame it isn't available to watch.
Looking forward to the show on Saturday

Figgygal · 23/09/2021 08:57

I’d love to watch DWTS
Good on Mel C!!

JacquelineCarlyle · 23/09/2021 09:03

I lived in the States when these shows first came onto TV & without a doubt the US version is far superior. The professional dancers and the choreography was always phenomenal and no stupid Anton-like dances. Carrie-Ann Inaba is the best judge!

I couldn't watch Strictly for a few years after we got to the UK as it just seemed like such a poor version, but after a few years being back, I'd sufficiently forgotten enough about DWTS to be able to enjoy Strictly.

I'd love to still be able to watch DWTS though imagine then Strictly would go back to being very disappointing.

JacquelineCarlyle · 23/09/2021 09:04

And Maksim Chmerkovsky is the sexiest dancer alive!

mydogisthebest · 23/09/2021 09:15

Did anyone see John and Johannes on Steph's Packed Lunch? They really seem to be getting on well and it was lovely to see.

I can't wait to see their tango on Saturday. Tango is my favourite dance so interested to see it

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 23/09/2021 10:05

She looks really good. Not so convinced about Gleb's shiny suit. Grin It would have been nice to see a normal chassé or two in there.

Whose dances do we know for the weekend? Tilly's doing the waltz.

I subscribe to the Dwts channel then can watch all the dances in less than 15 minutes! A couple of full episodes usually go up on YouTube then get taken down hastily. They are on series 30 now but I disagree completely that it is of better quality.
It was due to US production values that we ended up with so many props, narratives and theme weeks over here, although they appear to be doing less of that in covid times. Also we inherited contempowaft because of dwts. They do not do a dance off, this is perhaps better/fairer, up for debate (people's champion Bobby Bones, anyone?!)
They do do the injury porn, emotive past histories etc What they did do well was to champion diversity sooner.
I loved Maks, Derek and Mark. Love Shana and quite like Alan. There are some phenomenal routines but they suffer from no live band, shorter routines it feels and obscure upbeat tracks - emphasis on current songs.
The biggest travesty for me though was replacing Tom with Tyra as host.
Also Len is a total hypocrite - less focus on traditional and technique as a trade off against the big bucks.

SequinsandStiIettos · 23/09/2021 10:28

Dan Quickstep
John Tango
Judi American smooth
Nina Samba
Rob Cha cha cha
Rose Jive
Tilly - as you say, Waltz

No songs or rest of dances reveal, which is interesting. Either no first steps footage because of a sick Pro, they do not know if sick Pro is doing first dance yet or not or they are making it all a surprise to win back audience figures as launch lower viewers than previous.

Runningupthecurtains · 23/09/2021 11:10

Full list of dances/songs just popped up on my Facebook feed via the Strictly page but I didn't have the chance to note them and am on the way into a meeting so can't look again now.

SheldonesqueTheLazyEyedBstard · 23/09/2021 11:37

I think I’m looking forward to the Blue Monday tango most. Then the jive to gold dust.

SheldonesqueTheLazyEyedBstard · 23/09/2021 11:37

Thank you for the heids up 🙂

BaconAndAvocado · 23/09/2021 11:57

Blue Monday for a tango is an inspired choice!
Can't wait to see it.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 23/09/2021 11:57

Thank you!

@EvilRingahBitch

It's not broadcast in the UK at all, but all the dances are put up on the show's YouTube channel.
That’s a shame, someone is definitely missing a trick there.
SunSeaSurfGin · 23/09/2021 14:36

I say it every year on these threads. The first two weeks 1/2 the couples do waltz the other half do Cha cha cha or salsa or couples choice maybe the jive . It is ridiculous for a couple to come up with a decent VW or American smooth or Samba week 1 or 2. Then next week those who did Latin do ballroom or vice versa

kazzaD66 · 23/09/2021 16:24

I'm the same sun
It's bloody stupid to have an American Smooth in the first week. Time was the first AS didn't appear until at least 6 weeks in. It makes me mad Angry
