Unless we talk too much of course!

They are matching pros to celebs on lots of factors e.g. height, location (or willingness to relocate/travel for potentially 4 months) so it's probably just bad luck that there wasn't a male celeb that "matched" to her but as there is supposedly a pro with positive covid test she might be straight off the bench.

CaveMum · 20/09/2021 21:39

@EvilRingahBitch

What was the joke Judi made? I remembered it being a bit off-colour for the time slot but have forgotten what it was.
Can’t remember it word for word but it was something about her daughter helping her get into the bath and making a comment about it being disgusting to which Judi had replied “You came out of there”.
CaveMum · 20/09/2021 21:40

They’ve always brought in new Pros and not given them a partner - Neil was on the subs bench for several years and Nancy was the new girl last year but didn’t get a Celeb.

JacquelineCarlyle · 20/09/2021 21:42

I thought Judi's joke was quite funny - nothing risqué about it Confused

EvilRingahBitch · 20/09/2021 21:45

Oh yes that was it. It was a bit vagina-y for teatime BBC1.

Willy jokes are generally more socially acceptable than fanjo jokes (because patriarchy).

willstarttomorrow · 20/09/2021 21:53

@09Taytocrisps I am new to this thread too. I watched strictly in the early days but then had a break. I rediscovered it a few years ago and last year it was just the joyous fun I needed. At the end of the day, these celebs have to work hard and embrace the glitter rather than eating animal penis for their fee.

I also really love that the strictly audience will only put up with ringers to a certain point, the same with the comedy act. We love them but we will not let them win! At the end of the day, despite tabloids trying to whip up drama, it is such a happy place.

BaconAndAvocado · 21/09/2021 08:29

@iklboo

Trevor always reminds me of Phill Jupitus.
Definitely, yes!
SequinsandStiIettos · 21/09/2021 11:06

Judy's you came out my vag comment wasn't any worse than Greg's my arse crack in lycra's like a toast rack.
Am sure he made craic about his crack at least twice.
Love Trev the Hat. Monkseal used to post pics when he did his shout outs.
Jowita is the new Janette and the male cast are stupidly tall this year. Will be interesting if she did cover for Nancy though and whether Nancy has barked choreo orders remotely, if she is the one who has been poorly. Always hard when you have comparisons. Gorks standing in for Brenda, Kev standing in for Neil, cannot remember her name standing in for Aliona, Brendan standing in for Artem and Robin.
Must be worse if it was your debut.

Hello tayto do you like Kai from watching DWTS Ireland? I saw lots of his routines but not the show as a whole. Is he a nice guy? Will he cop off with AJ?

SequinsandStiIettos · 21/09/2021 11:09

Iveta. How could I forget?
Forgot what happened to her, did she jump or was she pushed?

Taytocrisps · 21/09/2021 11:22

Sequins I haven't watched DWTS. One dance show (Strictly) is enough for me. It's a big commitment because it takes over the whole weekend - the full show on Saturday evening and then the results show on Sunday evening. Although I mostly record Sunday's show and then fast forward to the end to see who went out.

BaconAndAvocado · 21/09/2021 14:00

Jowita is the new Janette Hmm, not sure anyone else could be that irritating.
Time will tell.

Gregdaviessss · 21/09/2021 17:35

Re Katya, she is annoying with her relentless shrieking but for me she's the best choreographer. Some of her routines are stunning. The winning Charleston with Joe some years ago was perfect. Gio comes a close second

How much of her previous choreography was also down to Neil though? I know it was heavily suggested in other sources that he did a lot of her choreography and that might be why he didn't have a partner for so long because he was happy with that situation, but obviously more recent events led to him breaking out and getting his own partners.. so I do wonder if he still helps with her routines anymore or not?
PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 21/09/2021 19:22

I don't think Rose is the first deaf Strictly contestant. I think Ben Cohen was.

Perhaps it depends how you're defining it though. Or Strictly is just ignoring everything that happened before 2015. Grin

I'm convinced Nancy must be the Covid positive pro as there is still seemingly 0 training footage of them together on either of their socials.

Piggywaspushed · 21/09/2021 19:25

I was thinking about deafness too. I swear Stephanie Beecham is deaf!

I didn't know this, so just did a Google and came across this from 2019.. apparently he kept it a secret during the show as he "simply wasn't allowed to talk about it" Confused

Piggywaspushed · 21/09/2021 19:26

I think they mean profoundly deaf.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 21/09/2021 19:32

I think they must do. Stephanie Beacham apparently has no hearing in one ear and 80% in the other.

And he might not have been allowed to talk about it, but not much gets past MNers!

There's a difference between people who are born D/deaf (and generally use BSL to communicate, like Rose) and those who develop hearing loss later in life.

Elderflower14 · 21/09/2021 20:25

@PolkadotsAndMoonbeams That was my post under a previous name! ☺ ☺ ☺

Piggywaspushed · 21/09/2021 20:29

Pretty sure Stephanie was born deaf )or partially deaf/hearing impaired). I know she lip reads.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 21/09/2021 20:43

They were both born with hearing loss, just presumably have more hearing than Rose does.

Had totally forgotten about Ben. That was 2013? Nyle in the states was only 2 years later. Bizarre that it was not mentioned much. Had always thought he was being like Jonnie, in not mentioning it to be treated like everyone else. Quite surprised to discover that he felt silenced.

SequinsandStiIettos · 23/09/2021 00:29

Not usually enough interest for a DWTS thread but I thought some of you might be interested in how Mel C and Gleb got on with their week one cha cha cha.
