I’m actually quite enjoying the Holden Girls - don’t usually like Leigh Francis as his other alters - can’t stand celebrity juice - but nan is actually quite funny

I made dh watch it this week. He hates these kind of shows. Alexis is like an unpolished Alesha Dixon. He is so not into her that it’s painful.
Frank actually makes me feel really uneasy, he’s so competitive that I loved it when he fell in. Can you imagine a man saying his ideal date was you doing something he likes, you’ll hate, be crap at and he’ll be laughing at you. Wanker.
I love the Antigua couple, saying I love you was sweet. He’s never said it and is in the lusty love stage. The horses also made me feel really uneasy, there was a thread years ago on here from a lady who’s horse drowned on the beach.
When the trailer came on for the Amanda Holden thing, dh said why is Elton John moving in with her?

I agree with you all. There is a reason most of them are single....but more than anything this thread has made me want to try the Amanda holden programme. When I first saw the trailer I wondered why her nan looked like a man....now I get it. I do wonder how it will play out as men playing characatures can be uncomfortable....

Strictly matches couples every year based on nothing more than height (and often not even that) and manage to create at least one long lasting couple each season. That's a better strike record than any of the MAFS franchise. Perhaps the producers should get rid of the ixperts and just give an intern a tape measure?

I think as he has a history of playing all sorts of characters from Bo Selecta to Keith Lemon it’s not like he’s just doing Mrs Brown or something. All of them have been pretty irreverent.

Why a man dressed as a woman though? Why not just get an actress to play the role? I agree - it's caricature of an older woman by a man for no apparent reason.

Urgh. It reminds me of Big Brother: Series One - yeah alright, these seem like relatively genuine people (nasty nick aside!) and you could tenuously say this is a legit social experiment. Series Two - God these are all just fame-seeking numpties who will do whatever it takes to get 15 minutes of fame. I enjoyed the first series of MAFS on Channel 4, but I'm finding this hard to get into the more it goes on. Over half have been on reality TV already, most on programmes about finding love. The matching is atrocious. Again, in series one you could see why people had been carefully matched to give the marriage a decent shot. With this we've got one couple where one wants kids and the other doesn't, one who wants his wife with kids to move to the other side of the world and at least three brides/grooms who openly aren't actually looking to commit to anything or settle down in the slightest. It makes it boring to watch as it all feels completely scripted and contrived.

I also agreed with comments about Nikita, if it had been a man shouting and throwing a coffee cup at a woman it would have been labelled as abusive and they've had likely been asked to leave. It shouldn't be acceptable to broadcast that on TV and effectively endorse it just because it was a woman doing it to a male partner.

Yeah, maybe it was editing but I definitely clocked that he didn't seem to reflect that he could also make some changes too...

And just seen Jordon's comments about wife swapping at the meal with his self-appointed green card because he's not happy with "what he got". What a dick! I'd felt Franky's draconian view of women put him in prime wanker spot but Jordon may have just equalled him!

Just caught up on last 2 episodes and the end of last thread and this one. (Eldest has Covid and all needed to be up and out for PCR tests and a day off work- silver linings).

It's a shit show- all except Adam and Tayah. Just hoping the shine doesn't wear off and they can't stand each other by episode 15!
