The Afters show really grates on me, it’s so stilted, “funny gag” delivered in a kids TV type way. Annoyed that they didn’t call Nikita out on her appalling behaviour. If that had been a bloke behaving that way they wouldn’t have allowed it. How did Nikita get hug everyone when AJ was keeping her (social) distance from Tom and Paul? So many double standards about behaviour on TV at the moment ie Faye on Love Island. Do love Tom though, he was the best bit of the show!

Finally caught up with the episodes and the threads! Loving this show - I've never seen the Australian one so have nothing to compare to.

Agree with all the comments - Jordon horrible and he only told the truth about Megan as he was very angry as he felt she mugged him off so was making sure to get his own back on her. Loved the experts calling out his aggression & really hope that they bring Alexis and Ant back in as a couple.

Franky is scary!
Bob seems a sweetheart but he'd be too much for me - he'd drive me crazy and I fear I'd be just like Megan (albeit wouldn't touch Jordon with a barge pole!)

The rest are all a bit meh, but will be interested to see how it pans out.

How does this show work? Do they get voted out or only leave when they choose to as happened tonight? How is the winner decided? What do the winners get? How long does the show last?

Also, why are they referred to as ixperts on the thread?

Ixperts is from the Aus one, due to the accent. It should probably really be icksperts, though 😅

Nobody gets voted out. The ultimate hope would be that they all fall in love and stay to the end. It's not usual for 2 couples to have gone by now. Usually it is dragged out much longer. So, there are no winners or prizes etc. At the end they have final vows, where they get another posh frock on and they tell each other whether they want to stay together. Even the dead certs word their vows in such a way that it's a will-they-won't-they scenario, it can be highly amusing and it can be torture 😅
So, they'll do Yes Day, they'll have family visits, some of them will have ixpert counselling, some of them will have struggles that will be focused on, some will have struggles forced upon them for the drama. There is another dinner party every week(?) followed by commitment ceremony. Where we should all RESPECT THE FORUM.
The 40 episode Aus series was waaay too long, there were a few dull episodes.

Bob was a complete bell end to go and shake Jordan's hand - THAT is why women wont fancy him. He always will want to keep in with everyone, and has no really backbone, as sweet as he is. I can understand he is a people pleaser through his background though, and hates upsetting people

t's really disturbing. He has a scary habit of holding onto Marylise in a really uncomfortable way too, like he's gripping her to keep her under control.

I thought the same when they got to their room for their honeymoon night. He pushed in quite hard for a kiss, less passionate, more aggressive. Then made her feel bad for not wanting to share a bed. As for that wedding speech about wanting a Stepford wife...total cringe. He gives me bad vibes and his wife seems lovely.

Agree with the post about Nikita being no Cyrell (MAFSA). Cyrell was feisty but had her heart in the right place and we loved her for that (and she was right about the contestants hooking up behind their partners' backs). Nikita has no redeeming features and really needs to stop with the fake tan and heavy makeup as it makes her look like Barbie.

I also like Bob and feel a bit sorry for him. Thought he was very gracious about sleeping on the tiny sofa. Bob needs a big hearted woman who can reciprocate his bubbliness. Meghan won't be it.

I am completely bemused by Morag. Why the fuck was she crying so much last night - over people she barely knows. And she clearly has an extraordinarily high opinion of herself. Whereas I’d say she’s defo punching with Luke. Poor Luke, he’s lovely, and handsome. And Morag just seems intent on destroying what little amount of self-esteem he has left.

He is immature for sure, and while I think that was a joke, it was based on how he actually feels, but equally she is so needy. She’d do my head in and I like to think I’m a reasonably nice person 😂 plus she seems kind of prescriptive in exactly how he should be showing her attention, to me anyway. She seems like she knows in her own head exactly what she wants and how he ‘should’ be reacting etc but it doesn’t really work like that in reality.
Mind you, I feel like it’s all bonkers now, is any of it ‘in reality’?! 😂

@FAQs initially it does, until you realise it reads as though he spent his entire 15 years either being trained or delivering training, and didn’t actually do any soldiering. Obviously I could be wrong, but he doesn’t really strike me as the type not to let everyone know that he fought ‘bad guys’, if he did. Most veterans would probably include something as vague as ‘saw action in X’, or ‘supported operations in Y’ in a résumé like that 🤷🏻‍♀️
