Larry was the best actor by far in that particular scene, her who used to go out with Jeffrey Bobbles Bon Bon, was particularly awful.

Every single line is shouted. So the signing looks similar. I have used BSL in a previous role by the way so I am not just being an arse! It makes me cringe too.

I do like effort with signing fair play it’s not easy learn new skill. She does shout it though she signs in very over excited and angry manner! If anything she is over confident for beginners but guess that’s how some people are. I’m saying a 10 word sentence and I will sign the 3 words I know how to sign along with it. Have to see if they keep this up for years as kids get older.

No I’m not, and I clarified in my next post that it wasn’t the signing that was the issue, it was Gemma’s OTT at everything acting style that was irritating me. This was just another aspect of it.

Even to people who won't understand sign language? I wonder this every few years, every time she makes an appearance.

Can't see why she uses it while she's talking - and to people who aren't deaf.

Signing is probably Fredas 'first' language as it were so she would do it without thinking. My cousin signs all the time even though a lot of us don't.
As a beginner signer Gemma would probably do it so it starts to become second nature. In the same way someone who is learning a new language would practise it at every opportunity.

I presume as someone who’s deaf and sign is first language that she thinks in sign first and For most. It’s the most natural thing to use movement to express plus we presume she can’t hear at all (given the anti implant views) and would learnt how to speak orally but can’t hear herself. So linking a sign with a mouth pattern that she can’t hear helps her. Just because she lip reads well and can speak orally doesn't mean it’s not very hard constant work to translate and then speak language you can’t hear.

We have deaf and VI people at work. We all sign regardless. It's something that should be taught in schools IMO

Fiz is much better off with Phil than Tyrone. Tyrone has been vile recently. However, I expect Fiz will end up back with Tyrone just in time for when Alina returns with bump/baby.
