Tired of sifting my way through the old thread. Let's chat here about this week's happenings...

I know, shocking, isn't it? My kids weren;t the slightest bit interested, sitting at the table doing some colouring while I watched Blue Peter on my own

Does anyone other than me think that the wardrobe people have got it in for Letitia? I haven't seen her wear anything stunning. This week was awful! All that fabric hanging from her arms!!!

PTA I think tehy have been a bit cruel I hated that short Black & White number but I liked the floaty thingy- the arms are typical ballroom fancy stuff aren't they?

Flavia has stuff on her arms that was no where near as bad as Letitia. There just seemed to be so much fabric that is swamped her. It did take my eye away from her lines though, maybe that was behind it. Use the fabric as a distraction! But the colour?!?!? On ITT2 on the Friday we were told that it was "amathyst". It just seemed very brash to me. And I did hate the black and white number as well but not sure why!

Shame she's back to the Bet Lynch hairdos too!

They just never seem to get it quite right. Do the celebs have much input into the dresses, hair and make-up? There have been some very frightening faces and that was just the men!.

I read somewhere that they hav a limited budget (being the Beeb) 7 basically the dresesare half made & they have to match them to the body shapes once they know who's in! Must be a nightmare for ardrobe as the celebrities all lose weight & change shape over the weeks.

I think the ballroom dancing thing IS bright & glitzy though isn't it? The more sparkle the better- very naff but almost compulsory like the lurex shirts & wiggly bums on the men!

I agree that Letitia has been put in some pretty awful stuff. I don't think that the celebs have a lot of say in what they wear but they can comment and ask for alterations - last year Louisa Lytton was always asking for her dresses to be shortened or cut away here and there and in serise 2 there was a big thing made about how Brendan ripped Sarah Manners' paso dress apart, literally!
The floaty arm pieces are a style thing with ballroom dresses, they are supposed to accuntuate the flowing movements (which is why they don't wear them for the tango) but I think they just look daft most of the time.

Wasn't there something last serise where a dress was 're-cycled'?
Something like, Claire King wore it for the Rumba then it was altered slightly and Louisa wore it for the jive - something like that ... I'll see if I can find out.

God bossy, Len was painful, we don't want Bruno with his bins out aswell !

Are Karen, Erin and Nicole the old school and Brendan, James and Ola the new school?? Brendan and James have been quite vicious towards Karen who I always quite liked.....

I noticed that little swipe at Karen too.
All I can think of is that she is a professional judge and came out of retirement from dancing to do the show, so she's not "one of them".
Think you may be on to something with the 'old school v new school' thing.
I've always liked Karen too.

Brendan and Kelly have had a pop on It takes two as well. I just put that down to Brendan being Brendan and causing waves but now James has joined in I was quite . (Glad James has cut his hair though).
Hope Vincent and Flav haven't split up. Their dance at the weekend was so beautiful.
Anton is has to be so gay BTW. That is why he can flirt so outrageously surely???

Does anyone think that Craig is a bit softer this year? When he criticises, he is very specific. I've quite liked and agreed with his opinions this year.

I was wondering about the dancers especially the married couples. Do they consider having children? Karen Hardy found returning to dancing extremely hard to deal with after having her child and IIRC had therapy to help reconcile their feelings.
It must be hard for the female dancers to take the decision to start a family, after all their body and the lines it creates is important to their job. What do you think?

VanillaPumpkin - Apparently Anton is seeing a tv presenter called Caroline Ferraday and has been for some years. So, like I said, either straight or doing a flawless impression of being straight.

I always think that Craig comes across much better on ITT and agree some of that is coming into the main show. I quite like him most of the time. At least he doesn't point in that agreesive way like Arlene ! She can be really mean. eg - the pole dancer comment to Ola

On the subject of the gay straight male dancers (or is it straight gay). Darren always seems the most camp to me and I cannot picture him and Lilia married at all. Maybe they are straight and just very comfortable with their masculinity ! I love the camp though - fab daarling.

I agree with vanilla re Anton.....and that woman has GOT to be a smokescreen! That said one of my best friends is as camp as that & lustily married to a gorgeous lady.

I think she had retired from competitive dancing to have her baby & was approached to do Strictly & decided that was a way of dancing that wasn't the full stress of the competition circuit.She also does a lot of judging now so maybe that puts up the backs of some ofthe chaps...she's "defected" to the judges side maybe?

Have to say I agree about Craig think he's much more consructive with his comments & quite nice on occasion

Vastly prefer Craig to Arlene and always have.

She needs to be locked up for crimes against alliteration.
