But I find the Olympics goes past on such a blur that I always find it hard to pick apart all those amazing Olympians apart

I didn't. They were doing minutes of silence at sporting events all over the world. It was the 20th anniversary so I'm sure it would have been all over the news in NY. I thought it was a nice touch.
