@PumpkinKlNG

Thank you Blamelesscars that is what I mean, I don’t think anyone seeing a woman getting verbally abused, humiliated, sworn at and reduced to tears would say “well you shouldn’t have approached him you should have allowed him to calm down” they would only be saying the abusive one should have been removed.
Of course they would, they’d have said run and don’t look back. Everyone always says that. No one says oh he’s shouting and abusing you? Approach him and engage.

Love Island 2021: Men’s domestic abuse charity speaks out on ‘unacceptable behaviour’ after Faye Winter and Teddy Soares’ row.

Winemewhynot · 07/08/2021 14:04

So true @QueenBee52

She was verbally aggressive, gaslighting, threatening, tried to show him up in front of the rest of the group and they all just stood back and watched.

I’m sure she’ll blame her reaction on her previous relationships, but that’s no excuse, and if she’s been treated so badly in the past to be this fucked up how the hell has she passed the psych assessment?!!

GrealishHairband · 07/08/2021 14:16

I’m not defending fayes behaviour at all. I really liked her but I think she has to go now after last night. However I think the producers have a hell of a lot to answer for. What was the point of showing that Teddy clip. It was out of context and without knowing everything else that happened it looked worse than what it was. Whereas Liam got a clip saying his head was saying he had a great thing with Millie, making it look as though he was showing some self restraint.

The only reason for showing that Teddy clip was to get that reaction from Faye. And I think that is shit that they’ve done that to her in the name of entertainment.

butterpuffed · 07/08/2021 14:42

We were treated to an hour of Faye's histrionics. As LI is heavily edited, I wonder how long she actually went on for. As well as Teddy, it's all the rest of them I feel sorry for.

Bedsheets4knickers · 07/08/2021 14:42

Will ITV do anything about it ? That's the question .

CarpyDiem · 07/08/2021 14:43

Interesting article @TheDustWitch

And I think some people (probably including the production team) are confusing histrionics with drama.

I simpkyndo not want to watch Faye again at all

RainbowZebraWarrior · 07/08/2021 14:45

Surely the LI team are in crisis talks today? Before tomorrow's show goes out at least there should be an announcement of some sort. Like they have spoken to Faye and decided x, y, z. They had a previous presenter take her own life because of how she was depicted in the press and by social media. Largely due to domestic abuse allegations. How the fuck then, did they think contriving, manipulating and enabling that scenario last night was acceptable? During the editing process, nobody on the team went errr... hang on a sec, what we are doing here is truly bloody awful? Or worse, someone did and they thought nah, fuck it lets show it anyway. Do they think they are going to win awards for this shit? And I'm wondering how Iain and Laura sit so well with this (not saying they do, but let's face it, Iain wrote and provided the voice over to the 'action')

I reckon the Ofcom complaints will be upwards of 20,000. Only the 2nd time in my life I've felt the need to file one. I've also told LI what I think of them via their Twitter post "poetry in motion" - WTAF?

LadyCatStark · 07/08/2021 14:47

I also complained for the second time ever @RainbowZebraWarrior

GrealishHairband · 07/08/2021 14:52

It’s not like they can say they were doing it so Faye knew what Teddy really was doing behind her back. It’s bullshit to make her lose her mind.

(And I know, she’s in control of how she reacts, but they didn’t need to provoke her like this)

Hopeisallineed · 07/08/2021 14:53

I’ve just watched it, I said I wouldn’t but wanted to see how bad it actually was. Really difficult to watch… I’m in no way excusing Faye at all, it was frightful behaviour snd completely unacceptable ( so glad it’s been picked up by domestic abuse charity) but Faye’s a saboteur. She was already looking for a million reasons not to like Teddy and I think this gave her the perfect ‘out’. She strikes me as one of those women that don’t think they deserve the good guy and will do anything to sabotage it, which she has. Teddy has had a lucky escape if you ask me.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 07/08/2021 14:56

I don't know what to say. The last ten pages seem to be about Faye. She was awful and Teddy seems so calm and nice.

I think she should be removed given reaction to previous contestants.

Didiusfalco · 07/08/2021 14:57

It’s such a shame because poor Teddy probably has no idea how much support he has in the outside world. He’s been in the bottom three because everyone forgot to vote for him and in the bottom with Faye. It must be so hard to maintain any sense of reality in that environment.

NotNaggingJustRight · 07/08/2021 14:58

@AngeloMysterioso

I’d like the new girl to go for Teddy. He deserves a shot with someone new, not just someone who’s used up their other options.

As for Faye… well, she’s buggered isn’t she?! Teddy would be insane to go back there and no new guy is going to want to go near her.

Sadly, DH and I can see Teddy taking her back.
Winemewhynot · 07/08/2021 15:00

So true. It was unfair on all parties involved, Faye, Teddy, the other housemates and the viewers.

Anon778833 · 07/08/2021 15:03

I think Faye needs to go - she's visibly ruining things for all the other contestants. She really should get some therapy. I don't mean that in a nasty way.

NorthernWhiteRhino · 07/08/2021 15:06

Ironic calling him Uncle Ted and insinuating he is boring and has no fashion sense when he is the most interesting, watchable and cool of the lot of them. When he had that grey hoodie and sun glasses on getting into the pull out bed ❤️

Hopeisallineed · 07/08/2021 15:08

I think Faye needs to go too. If she was a bloke she’d be out on her ear already.

Anon778833 · 07/08/2021 15:08

As an aside - why have they put alcohol back on in seemingly unlimited quantities? That is part of the problem IMO

QueenBee52 · 07/08/2021 15:09

I think he's gorgeous.. so cool confident supportive intelligent and really doesn't buy into brand labels..

he's just an amazing guy 💕

Hopeisallineed · 07/08/2021 15:10

Ofcom received record complaints about that episode so hopefully something will be done.

Monsteraobliqua · 07/08/2021 15:17

I've put in a complaint. Second complaint I've made this past week (first one wasn't about LI), I'm turning into Mary Whitehouse!

Absolutely agree with all of this. Where is ITV's sense of responsibility towards the wellbeing of their contestants?? Faye included. It was so awful to watch, i had to keep muting it as i was getting anxious.

I've complained to Ofcom too
