@Blamelesscars

I’m Also pretty shocked at some of the reporting on this. I’ve seen a few articles in big news papers saying that they won’t write or comment on the faye situation because it fuels the fire but if it was a woman being treated that way on tv by a man their would be outrage al over the press!

It just cannot believe how just because Teddy is a man no one seems to be willing to sand up and call out ITV and Faye for that. No wonder the male victims of domestic abuse don’t feel able to come forward because there is such an air and culture of minimising and disbelief around it

I agree it is not acceptable, I also simply cannot see how ITV can say they care about mental health when they let it escalate to the point it did. No human being whatever their gender should be treated like Teddy was, it was also probably hugely stressful for the others (I was so stressed just watching as I hate confrontation) and using Faye's issues for entertainment was not on. TBH I am disgusted by Faye's aggressive behaviour but even more so with ITV letting it go so far.
Monsteraobliqua · 07/08/2021 12:14

I'm not blaming Teddy at all and understand it must have been awful to hear someone raging about you, especially when he didn't do anything terribly wrong, but think he should have stayed away too until she had calmed down.

It's difficult to know how to handle that kind of anger, different if someone is pissed and kicking off as you know they aren't in their right mind and just need bundling into a taxi home or whatever.

Jake got off very lightly, I think, thanks to Faye. It was shitty that he couldn't say something genuinely reassuring and complimentary to Liberty. She's a beautiful girl.

Ughmaybenot · 07/08/2021 12:15

@boomoperator

I am new to LI. They all have mobiles in the villa so are they able to see their press, IG, Facebook etc?
No. They can text each other, receive texts from producers and take photos but that’s it. They’re in a bubble in there.
Zotter · 07/08/2021 12:15

Faye is awful. When Teddy said to Clarisse love is in the air, was he referring to Faye? Thanks.

Monsteraobliqua · 07/08/2021 12:19

ITV went too far last night I thought overall. Liberty looked devastated by what Jake had said, and I don't think Faye's outburst should have been allowed to continue, or have been initiated by showing footage that, whilst true, wasn't really representative. It wasn't a row like on big brother, it was one person going further and further at another who wasn't retaliating and who hadn't really done anything wrong. She should have been removed to calm down.

Bluntness100 · 07/08/2021 12:20

@Loudestcat14

carriehagshaw This morning loads of people had left negative comments on her most recent IG post, which was about her and Teddy reuniting. Someone, presumably her family or friends, has since deleted them all. Meanwhile, Teddy's supporters have put a post on his IG saying how difficult last night's show was to watch. Sad
You can still see them they are just hidden but they are the negative ones someone is hiding and also comments have been limited now, so they can control it.
Chicchicchicchiclana · 07/08/2021 12:21

I think it was Faye earlier on who pointed out that Jake was disrespectful to the girls with encouraging the boys to experiment on their boys holiday. Didn't she point out that he wouldn't treat his sister like that? That was a fair point.

It went horribly downhill after that though.

Blamelesscars · 07/08/2021 12:21

@Monsteraobliqua while I understand what you’re trying to say staying away until she calmed down wouldn’t have worked. She was spoiling for a fight prowling around. She was snarling and making belittling comments before they even left the table. At one point Teddy walk past and she shouted abuse at him and gave him the middle finger

She was enjoying it. She felt powerful and wanted to make him feel small and insignificant

Loudestcat14 · 07/08/2021 12:27

But we don't know how long the argument ran for – it could've lasted hours, but it was cut for the TV edit to look as though he kept approaching her and wasn't giving her space.

And it absolutely sounds like you're blaming him for her raging at him!

Loudestcat14 · 07/08/2021 12:28

Bluntness100 Ah, didn't realise comments could be hidden! I rarely look at IG.

Monsteraobliqua · 07/08/2021 12:29

blameless I see what you mean, she would have been hard to avoid, them all stuck in one house like that. Perhaps producers should have taken her off to calm down at that point.

LadyCatStark · 07/08/2021 12:33

How could Teddy have stayed away though? She was prowling all over the villa shouting at everyone and making them extremely uncomfortable. He was probably trying to diffuse the situation for everyone’s sakes but she wouldn’t even let him get a word in. If Faye couldn’t control herself she should have stayed away.

Monsteraobliqua · 07/08/2021 12:33

Absolutely not blaming him, he really didn't deserve any of that. I just mean you can't reason with that kind of self- righteous anger so it is best for all involved to stay out of the way. I think producers should have made that happen, not saying Teddy was responsible for managing the situation. I don't actually think she should have been brought back in afterwards, to be honest. Not good for her or Teddy but then I'd worry for her after leaving.

PumpkinKlNG · 07/08/2021 12:35

I don’t think anyone would say a woman should have stayed away from a man if it was the other way round

Monsteraobliqua · 07/08/2021 12:38

Nobody would say a woman should not approach a man who is in a rage? I would say that.

Bluntness100 · 07/08/2021 12:39

@PumpkinKlNG

I don’t think anyone would say a woman should have stayed away from a man if it was the other way round
I think everyone would say that?
Monsteraobliqua · 07/08/2021 12:39

Inasmuch as it would be better for her, not that approaching him makes her responsible for his behaviour.

ufucoffee · 07/08/2021 12:40

I don't think Faye was as angry as she was pretending to be. I think she was showing off for the cameras. The best thing would have been for everyone to totally ignore her.

QueenofDestruction · 07/08/2021 12:43

Exactly she should have been removed. ITV should put their money where their mouth is and remove her now and pay for counselling etc , PR to assist her in being able to get back into society with a control on the hate she will most likely received even if it means paying for some sort of anger management retreat and counselling. The scary thing is that this sort of reminds me of the CF situation where there was an argument with her and her bf at the time where she was allegedly the aggressor.. and see how that escalated.This situation is not so far removed from that, which us why I feel so disgusted with ITV. Faye, whatever you think about her, needs serious help,.

Blamelesscars · 07/08/2021 12:55

I think what @PumpkinKlNG means that of a woman had been subjected to that posters wouldn’t be saying oh well if she just gave him space he wouldn’t have done it. They would be saying he should have been removed or that no one would be suggesting it was her fault or she was asking to be yelled at

Blamelesscars · 07/08/2021 12:57

As in if a woman experienced what Teddy did it wouldn’t be oh well she should have left him alone.
She could have removed herself to another place in the villa to calm down but instead she prowled around yelling at everyone she came into contact with and activity shouting and making nasty comments about Teddy to provoke him

NorthernWhiteRhino · 07/08/2021 13:01

I am really hoping that this vote they reveal the two most popular contestants as well as the least popular. I would love to see Teddy and Matthew be at the top for the men. It would also be a big wake up call for Faye to see that she is way off the mark in her criticism of Teddy.

Faye's behaviour was completely and utterly toxic. The girls are disappointing in their failure to do anything to address it. They would all have been up in arms if any of the men in there behaved like that. There is a horrible sense of entitlement.

PumpkinKlNG · 07/08/2021 13:09

Thank you Blamelesscars that is what I mean, I don’t think anyone seeing a woman getting verbally abused, humiliated, sworn at and reduced to tears would say “well you shouldn’t have approached him you should have allowed him to calm down” they would only be saying the abusive one should have been removed.

Winemewhynot · 07/08/2021 13:15

Faye has shown herself to be nasty and vile, there’s no coming back from that. I think she should be removed for her own good, as she’s one of those personalities who won’t back down and will continue her abusive behaviour. Teddy is a true king, he looked genuinely shocked and hurt at her behaviour.

If this has been the other way round the domestic abuse charities would be screaming from the roof top.

QueenBee52 · 07/08/2021 13:32

@Winemewhynot

yes they would.. and they should be condemning Faye's behaviour ..

seems quiet on the DA Charities front 🌸
