Just found all 5 seasons on Syfy, Sky!! Just taken me back to my teenage years. Going to take me a while to get through them!

Way to spoil the ending Zara 😒

NCkitchen · 05/08/2021 21:57

Love quantum leap. Sam beckett is my hero.
Such a sad ending. I cry every time

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 05/08/2021 22:05

Hardly a spoiler since it first aired in 1989 and the OP has already seen it in her teenage years Hmm

Germolenequeen · 05/08/2021 22:11

I don't actually think I saw the last episode 🤔

Redcrayons · 05/08/2021 22:16

I used to love this, although I don’t remember and ending so probably didn’t watch it all.

Might watch it again.

LittleBearPad · 05/08/2021 22:17

Loved QL!

JumpLeadsForTwo · 05/08/2021 22:18

I do remember the ending, and feeling quite bereft as it had finished. The first couple of episodes are a big cluncky - haven't got into their stride yet. I remember loving the one where he was a pregnant woman, but particularly the one where he went home. What were your favourite episodes?

OP posts:
RomanMum · 05/08/2021 22:20

The one where he went home, the Astro-chimp and the one where he was in a psychiatric facility.

Loved QL!

I recall reading that the 'last' episode wasn't meant to be the last but it was decided close to the end of filming that series that it would be discontinued, hence the weird ending and the written bits. Such a shame, I still love it.

I love the Abigail trio, in fact it's on my V-box from the last time it was shown, on Forces TV.
SamBeckettsLastLeap · 05/08/2021 22:28

As my name suggests I love QL, my first crush was Sam, my ringtone is QL, my dog is called Gooshie, as a child I learnt so much, my mum used to let me stay up (Tues at 9pm when my dad went to the pub) we'd sit together on the chair and then read up in a big book of the 20th century. I learnt so much social history from QL and it influenced my studies and working life. Normally I hate new remakes but think QL could be great

WeAllHaveWings · 05/08/2021 22:32

"Oh boy....."

Loved that bit at the beginning of every episode

JumpLeadsForTwo · 05/08/2021 22:33

@sambeckettslastleap that sounds lovely, especially your mum encouraging you learning from the social history aspects. Can I ask what you ended up doing work wise?

I'd forgotten about the psychiatric one - that was well done

I like the weird one with the devil oh and the JFK assassination.

Germolenequeen · 05/08/2021 22:39

The JFK one for sure

JumpLeadsForTwo · 05/08/2021 22:51

I don't remember the JFK one which is weird as I was really interested in that when the Kevin Costner film came out - must have been different timings

TartanBonnet · 05/08/2021 22:52

Oh yes. Loved QL. Would love a reboot!!

Who could be Sam?

SamBeckettsLastLeap · 05/08/2021 22:52

I studied history and social anthropology and my job is linked to that, QL and my mum ignited my interest from a childhood that expected a lot less

Loved the JFK one, first one that made me question history 'truths ' also loved the one where Sam had down syndrome and the ones linked to American history.
AlCalavicci · 05/08/2021 23:17

My name may just give you a idea how I feel about QL Grin
Most of my previous names have also been linked to the show.

I read a lot of the books before I saw it on TV I was absolutely fascinated with it when it came on
I think I've watched all of the episodes but I may well of missed some I don't have Sky TV so I can catch up again Sad

JudgeJ · 07/08/2021 15:53

I wouldn't like it to be remade, it would inevitably be very high tec, I like the simplicity of the original.
One of my favourites was the Elvis Presley as a young child one, I believe he was in leg braces which caused the hip movement. It used to be fun picking out the bits of American history from the stories.

In the JFK episodes he was Lee Harvey Oswald.
