Getting a bit fed up of this will they won't they with Eileen and George.

Yeah… they’re trying to do an old-fashioned, lighthearted story, but it all feels a bit forced. Random funeral parlour woman turns up out of nowhere, never having been seen before and probably never to be seen again. Eileen sort of accepts an apology she didn’t really deserves, but still puts the kibosh on her own relationship anyway. Why?

Those really were tasteless remarks by Eileen about George's handling of the deceased, weren't they?

I wonder who made the decision to (a) write them, as tbh I think the tone of them was actually a bit out of character for her - Eileen's deadpan, but she's not an arsehole; and (b) juxtapose her words like that with the miscarriage story?

It really wasn't 'Corrie at its best' or anything like it.

I remember someone saying on a previous thread that Corrie now adapts characters to fit storylines rather than writes storylines around characters.

I don’t think Hope was responsible but I think everyone will assume she was.
