Billy puts his trust in God
But shouldn’t trust that sneaky Todd
He framed poor Paul - the rotten sod!

I don’t know if it exists in UK law but in the US they have a thing that judge Judy describes as “but for your actions”. Meaning that if it hadn’t been for Kelly’s behaviour the murder wouldn’t have happened. So her hitting Nina set off a chain of events and set the tone for violence.

SpicyJalfrezi · 30/08/2021 20:34

Yes, I mean, I have no desire to see her carry the can for Corey’s actions but I don’t want her to walk free either. But I bet she will.

Roussette · 30/08/2021 20:35

Yes, her hitting Nina did set it all off.

God... Imran is a bit wet tonight isn't he?

MrsRobbieHart · 30/08/2021 20:35

I really hope she doesn’t get off.

MrsRobbieHart · 30/08/2021 20:40

The Corey actor is really good! He’s vile!

SpicyJalfrezi · 30/08/2021 20:40

I’m more annoyed that no one has pulled her up on how thoroughly nasty she was.

Roussette · 30/08/2021 20:41

Yes, he is vile.

And correct me if I'm wrong but does a Defence Lawyer go blabbing all over the place about a tril that's the next day??

Roussette · 30/08/2021 20:41

Trial !!

MrsRobbieHart · 30/08/2021 20:42

Exactly! Surely Imran should be telling her to plead guilty to a lesser charge because she knows what part she played. She is crying that she shouldn’t be in jail- imran should be saying, “yes Kelly, you should. You didn’t kill him but you contributed to his death”

SpicyJalfrezi · 30/08/2021 20:44

Yes! And Kelly keeps crying because she’s innocent, surely she feels some remorse for what she did do (and didn’t - for all anybody knows, if she’d called an ambulance immediately Seb would have lived!)

SpindleWhorl · 30/08/2021 20:46

I know Imran's a solicitor advocate, but wouldn't a kid on a murder charge be assigned a barrister by the court, for the trial, irrespective of means?

And that's leaving aside the whole foster carer conflict ...

user1471453601 · 30/08/2021 20:46

I'm amazed at how, somehow small and diminished Nina looks. It suits the part she's playing, and I think she's playing it well. Well done her

thenightsky · 30/08/2021 20:47

Kelly made the first physical contact, thereby starting that whole chain of events.

I agree with this.
MrsRobbieHart · 30/08/2021 20:51

Why is imran not correcting Kelly!??? Nina is not on Kelly’s side!!

Roussette · 30/08/2021 20:51

Can I just say this... if I'm in trouble and need a lawyer, I won't be appointing Imran.

MrsRobbieHart · 30/08/2021 20:52

I’d be appointing Adam… Grin

Roussette · 30/08/2021 20:53

Oh dear, this bit is too much. Not sure it adds to it

MrsRobbieHart · 30/08/2021 20:56

When the murder first happened I suspected they would do flashbacks like this and i understand why they did but I wish I hadn’t seen it.

PrincessScarlett · 30/08/2021 20:59

Imran was so good when he defended Yasmeen but is coming across like such a wet blanket with Seb's murder trial.

I don't think we are supposed to feel sorry for Kelly as such but Corey is laying all the blame with Kelly to save his own skin. Yes Kelly set off a chain of events but she didn't murder Seb. Hopefully Corey will get found guilty of murder and Kelly will still be found guilty of a lesser charge such as manslaughter or joint enterprise.

PrincessScarlett · 30/08/2021 21:00

I'm guessing they planned to do flashbacks from the beginning because the murder took place in lockdown when they couldn't film any close contact. Really haunting viewing tonight though.
MrsRobbieHart · 30/08/2021 21:04

Wasn’t there CCTV footage of Corey going back to get his backpack that he then chucked in the canal?

SpicyJalfrezi · 30/08/2021 21:05

Didn’t Corey wash his clothes, bag and so on? He had a big row with Asha about it?

PennyRoyal · 30/08/2021 21:09

Good episodes tonight - all the young actors did very well.

MrsRobbieHart · 30/08/2021 21:12

He washed his shoes for sure.
