Billy puts his trust in God
But shouldn’t trust that sneaky Todd
He framed poor Paul - the rotten sod!

Just for her child! Which is really what she is asking. She didn’t give a shit before Liam got sick. In Sally’s shoes I’d have reminded her of that.

Would be OK for the tram users if everyone got rid of their cars (which they have only got in last couple of weeks)
There would be a lovely empty street for them to park on all day when you use the tram.

isitautumnyet · 26/08/2021 09:27

Do we think there is going to be a major plot twist with who killed seb ?

MrsRobbieHart · 26/08/2021 09:29

Christ I hope not. I want, just for once, a soap character to face appropriate justice for killing someone. I’ll feel massively cheated if they turn round and say it wasn’t Kelly or Corey but some randommer kicked Seb after he was attacked and that caused his death Hmm

Queenoftheashes · 26/08/2021 09:31

Jack is horrific, that wooden leg is obviously leaching into his brain

Trams may not give you asthma but they can still be fatal. Just ask Alan Bradley!

Actually wrt Gary paying cash for Kelly's defence, that looks dodgy as hell, surely? Wouldn't most solicitors etc want BACS transfers, card payments etc in order to have a proper 'paper trail' for their payments? I'm not sure if i'm making myself clear, but I know what I'm trying to say!!!

Spidey66 · 26/08/2021 11:09

I mean most people don't use cash these days do they? The only places I regularly use cash is my corner shop as they only take card payments over £5 and my local pub who for some odd reason (i think dodgy reasons) are still only taking cash payments.

That’s what I thought. Solicitors have to keep accurate accounts. They can’t just produce cash to pay for experts and not say where it comes from.
Haywirecity · 26/08/2021 13:49

I used a solicitor for my voluntary redundancy consultation. She wouldn't see me without a copy of my passport for proof of ID because of money laundering. She was being paid by my employer - the local university. So I don't think Imran could just take the money. Although, maybe this is another storyline in the making - Iran being struck off.
I really like Imran. I don't like him keep putting his head in his hands. It looks too desperate for a cool lawyer. And surely he'd know that everyone would tbelievr Kelly was guilty - lawyers are used to thar, aren't they? Would he really lose it with his sister in law who used to work fir him in the middle of the bistro? All so unbelievable.

MrsRobbieHart · 26/08/2021 13:54

Why isn’t Adam helping imran? They’re partners. I know it isn’t Adams case but surely he could help him out in the office with all that paperwork etc?

Orgasmagorical · 26/08/2021 14:16

Please someone tell me I misheard Daisy saying to Jenny something along the lines of "No, I've been fucking working, haven't I" on Wednesday's episode?

Haywirecity · 26/08/2021 14:18

I think Adam is pretty fed up with Imran. He said Monday that he was running round doing everything to keep the office going and picking up Imrans slack.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 26/08/2021 15:03

No, I've been fucking working, haven't I" on Wednesday's episode?

That's what I thought I heard her say too.

Akire · 26/08/2021 15:36

Couldn’t they get Toyah to pay it in as a foster mum gift towards case? If they were wealthy then paying towards costs would not be unheard of.

Clawdy · 26/08/2021 15:38

They would never use any real four-letter words on Corrie! They use silly words like pigging and chuffing, even if they are streetwise gangsters! Grin

Haywirecity · 26/08/2021 15:41

Theres no problem anyone paying money towards a solicitor for someone else's case. So Toyah could do that but she would have to prove where she got the money from. There must be an auditable money trail. It's to prevent money laundering.

I know we are all supposed to feel really sorry for Kelly, but while I don’t want to see her convicted of a murder she didn’t do, I’m getting a bit eye rolly with Imran thundering she is innocent.

She isn’t that innocent. She assaulted Nina, she goaded and instigated the attack and she was present while Seb was murdered. It’s not as if she was miles away and had absolutely nothing to do with any of it.

Spot on
Akire · 26/08/2021 16:05

She lost character really, if she guilty can’t be bothering about her next 10 years. Then she can’t come back as no ties to street. Even if innocent in year she be out of care and no ties on street and being with mother of man you were tied to his death. Why would you stay?

Orgasmagorical · 26/08/2021 16:44

I'm glad it wasn't just me, Toffee. I didn't think for a minute it would be Clawdy but it really did sound like it.

I've just rewatched it, the lips were saying 'flipping' but it took me three listens to hear that!

Yes, or people are referred to as 'beggars' as even the word 'buggers' would offend. Mind you, I remember when Mike Baldwin referred to the robbers who killed Ernie Bishop as 'bastards'. Shock I think it is allowed in extreme circumstances!

Yeah. I feel the same.

Are the writers deliberately trying to make us think she is innocent? The way imran is talking he makes it sound like a trial of Corey against Kelly but surely it’s the prosecution against both of them? They’re both guilty for their parts in it. It could be ruled that they’re both found guilty of murder.

Akire · 26/08/2021 17:02

Maybe Nina will be witness and suddenly have the right flash back and be able to say what happened.

MrsRobbieHart · 26/08/2021 17:03

Probably. It’s always very convenient for them.
