I read that it was going to be 20 episodes and would be a 'committment ceremony' instead of an actual wedding. So basically, it is becoming MAFS AUS.

As much as the mafsaus drama gets the creative critique going, the genteel uk version seemed more real to me (remember the train manager and the redhead? I was so hoping they’d work)

I don’t want people to be on there for their 15 minutes. Or clicks/likes and influencer perks.

We all want love. It should be for that. Some of us would delight in that chance. We aren’t all young and beautiful.

Yes, I get the feeling that the UK participants are generally more interested in finding real love. Owen and Michelle from last year are a lovely couple and still seem to be very happy together, and also there was an unseen couple last year who were matched but because of the pandemic, didn't get filmed, and they've just had a baby.
I think they could have stuck to the original format but maybe given us a few more episodes.

This is great news but I'm another who wants the U.K. one to be itself instead of copying its flashy Aussie cousin.

I can't wait! I do know what you mean about all of the U.K. ones so far seeming more real, but having watched every Aussie season on Shvideos I cannot wait! I know it's a bit wrong and there is too much involvement and direction from the producers but I have wondered for the last few years what on earth a U.K. versus of the Aussie format would look like! Will they be as open with their feelings and able to articulate themselves? Will things get as dramatic? Where will they go on the Their honeymoons? Will beaches have to be swapped for city breaks? Where will they all live? How long will we have to wait for each episode? So many questions!
I hope they have an older (ie 40s/ 50s) couple on like Melissa and John . Maybe it's just because I am that kind of age - I find their input and experience makes for a more interesting show.

Most importantly. When is it on?!!!

The TV transmitter mast near us burnt down yesterday. They dont know when it will ge back up and running again - certainly not imminently....

There's a real American feel to their look, I wonder if the programme is being made for the US market? I think I preferred it as one or two couples who we followed. With sensitivity and dignity.

I’ve been watching the clips and, at the moment, I have to say I’m a bit unimpressed.

It all looks a bit fishwife. And I’m not feeling the love element at all.

All I’ve gleaned from the clips is ‘I want/I want perfect/I want fame/I want to be heard/I want to be an influencah’

I want MAFS UK. And love.

It will never be better than the Aus one. Sorry U.K.!

The AUS one absolutely has its place but the UK one always seemed more genuine to me.

If I wanted to watch influencers and gobshites, I’d pop myself in front of YouTube and peg my eyes open.

I just want the love thing.

Will I watch it? Yes.

Will I pass judgement? Probably.

Will I enjoy it? Maybe.

Will I just be wishing it was oldie MAFSUK? Aye. A thousand times aye.

I liked the British ones- they seemed a lot more genuine
I read very recently that one couple from the last series - the nice guy from Sheffield and the posh but slightly ditzy primary school teacher - were still together. I remember being really cross for them at the time though as I think she was based in Brighton. So very early on they had to make a decision as to whether or not one of them had to move and if so which. Pleased it had worked out. I think lockdown was “timed” (if you can call it that) quite well for them in a way as neither of them was going to work so they had a test run at living together.

The fact that they are not doing legal weddings anymore will def weed out the serious contenders and invite a whole lots of instagrammers after their 5 minutes of fame, sadly.

I'm hoping the trailer is like the old Big Brother trailers where they would say stuff like "I love walking around in the nip" but it was just a ploy to get in there and they actually dressed like a nun the whole time.

I am convinced that conversations will be scant and all we will hear is an indignant noise.

At best they will get about 10 years worth of eyelashes and fake tan.

At worst they will find themselves on a dubious television channel.
